Palmer Park - Colorado Springs Hike
At 730.2 acres (as a comparison Central Park in New York City is 843 acres) in size, the park contains over 25 miles of trails. The park is a suburban park, where the main uses are trail riding, hiking and equestrian. With so much elevation variation and great size, it is easy to feel you are in a wilderness area and not in the middle of one of the top 50 most populated areas in the United States. Palmer Park is very popular, and despite its size it can feel crowded on days when the weather is good. The park is designed, or rather allowed to stay, as a very natural park. There is one major paved road going through the park, one paved road going to an overlook of Colorado Springs, and a few gravel roads going into several of the canyons. The majority of the park can only be accessed by trail.

Colorado Springs CO City Video | Pink Realty
About Colorado Springs:
Colorado Springs is one of the greatest cities in America! It's size is small enough to maintain the feel of a connected community, but large enough to offer almost everything residents might need. There are so many things to do within the area that the family could go a whole year without visiting the same place twice. People are always out hiking, fishing, camping, and playing in the area. The endless recreation options ensure that there is always something to do that is fun.
Population:
The population density of Colorado Springs is lower than average, at 2325 people per sq mile. With plenty of room to grow, Colorado Springs is expected to continue it's growth trends for many years to come. Colorado Springs, CO is the second largest city in Colorado, with an estimated population of over 650,000 residents, including all the metro areas. The city offers more amenities than most of the surrounding areas, which is a contributing factor to its rapid growth. It's a fun place to live, work, and play!
National Pride:
Colorado Springs is the heart of the nation’s Olympic movement, where a timeless culture of achievement, national pride and dedication sits comfortably alongside awe-inspiring beauty and unparalleled natural training grounds. We are home to the United States Olympic Committee Headquarters, 21 National Olympic Governing Bodies, over 50 National Sport Organizations, the U.S. Olympic Training Center and the future U.S. Olympic Museum and Hall of Fame.
Diverse Community:
Our diverse community has always reached for the sky, while remaining firmly grounded in the tremendous opportunities that the Pike’s Peak Region affords us every day. Not limited to our manmade facilities, the region boasts incredible natural training ground, inspirational views and vistas, and a commitment to excellence that transcends sports and infuses itself in our educational, medical, technological and cultural assets.
Parks & Entertainment:
When Colorado Springs filed the original town plat in 1871, it included one city block as the first city-owned park. The park, known as North Park or Acacia Square is the site of the present-day Acacia Park. Colorado Springs' city founder General William Jackson Palmer generously donated 1,270 acres of parkland, bridle and foot paths, scenic drives and roadways planted with trees, to establish a significant foundation of the Colorado Springs park system. These gifts included Acacia (North) Park, Monument Valley Park, Antlers Park, Pioneer Square (South) Park, Palmer Park, North Cheyenne Cañon, Prospect Lake and Bear Creek Cañon. In 1909, the Perkins heirs gave Garden of the Gods Park to the City, adding to the beautiful parkland already established.
The wide range of exquisite restaurants in Colorado Springs range from high-end sophistication and superb elegance to rustic outdoor suppers, great wood-fired pizza and casual sidewalk cafes.
Colorado Springs restaurants also make outdoor patio dining a relaxing and inviting experience. During the warm months, you’ll be happy to see casual and family restaurants all over town opening their doors and setting out tables and chairs for al fresco diners. In the winter, cozy up near the fireplaces you’ll find in many international and special occasion restaurants around town.
True Community Involvement:
Unique partnerships between neighborhood associations, churches, schools, non-profit agencies, private businesses, and military installations allows the Colorado Springs Community Centers to create an unparalleled environment for learning, recreation, and personal growth. Additionally, the Community Centers provide comprehensive and integrated community-based services at a single site for youth, families, the elderly, and those with special needs.

Have you ever seen a sunset? Maybe you even posted that sunset on instagram. Did you realize that the camera you used didn't even do it justice in anyway? Same here. Thats why I take mine to the next level. I use Snapseed primarily for editing my sunset photos for my instagram posts (usually). I find snapseed so much easier to learn use and I don't want to smash things during or after my photo editing process (Usually, unlike photoshop or lightroom). I would love it if you tagged me in your Snapseed photo edit. It would especially tickle me if you edited and tagged me in a sunset photo. here is the deal it doesn't take as much training as photoshop or lightroom. Photoshop and Lightroom are great photo editing programs certainly. I don't want to touch them. Not to mention how expensive they are. I'll pass. Anyways I also Like to through in some instagram tips and some android app reviews here and there. If there is anything out there you think I should see review discuss or anything leave a comment. I have been able to grow my instagram sunset photo account to over 10k please check it out give it a like and a follow. I appreciate all my followers and have taken my time over the last 5 years to refine my work and try to provide the best content. Thanks for coming this far! Hope you join me on this journey for many more years to come!

Top 10 Reasons NOT to Move to Denver, Colorado
The Top 10 reasons You Should NOT move to Denver, Colorado and the worst things you NEED to know about moving to Colorado Springs or Boulder instead.
Worst places to live in Nashville -
What's it like living in Denver? Well first off, the elevation is higher than most cities at 5,280 feet above sea level and it's located right next to the beautiful front range of the Rocky Mountains. The weather here is crazy and gets very cold with lots of snow but also very hot and dry in the Summer. It's actually the largest city in Colorado, and along with Colorado Springs, Fort Collins, Boulder and other secluded mountain towns, one of the best cities to live in America. A lot of people are moving from California and Texas to the Mile High City, making it one of the fastest growing and most expensive cities in the United States. If the Centennial State has the #1 economy, why shouldn't you live in Denver, CO?
Thanks for watching From Here to There! This is one of my top ten videos where we explain things about the world, it's history, and geography, starting with the different states, cities, and towns in the United States. Find out the worst and best places to live in 2019!

The Garden of the Gods' red rock formations were created during a geological upheaval along a natural fault line millions of years ago. Archaeological evidence shows that prehistoric people visited Garden of the Gods about 1330 BC. At about 250 BC, Native American people camped in the park; they are believed to have been attracted to wildlife and plant life in the area and used overhangs created by the rocks for shelter. There are many native peoples who have reported a connection to Garden of the Gods, including Apache, Cheyenne, Comanche, Kiowa, Lakota, Pawnee, Shoshone, and Ute people.
Multiple tribes traveled through Garden of the Gods. The Utes' oral traditions tell of their creation at the Garden of the Gods, and petroglyphs have been found in the park that are typical of early Utes. The Utes found red rocks to have a spiritual connection and camped near Manitou Springs and the creek near Rock Ledge Ranch bordering Garden of the Gods. The Old Ute Trail went past Garden of the Gods to Ute Pass and led later explorers through Manitou Springs. Starting in the 16th century, Spanish explorers and later European American explorers and trappers traveled through the area, including Lt. John C. Freemont and Lt. George Frederick Ruxton, who recorded their visits in their journals.
In 1879 Charles Elliott Perkins, a friend of William Jackson Palmer, purchased 480 acres of land that included a portion of the present Garden of the Gods. Upon Perkins' death, his family gave the land to the City of Colorado Springs in 1909, with the provision that it would be a free public park. Palmer had owned the Rock Ledge Ranch and upon his death it was donated to the city.
Having purchased additional surrounding land, the City of Colorado Springs' park grew to 1,364 acres. In 1995 the Garden of the Gods Visitor and Nature Center was opened just outside of the park.
