Heart-warming moment 99-year-old is reunited with wife
A 99-year-old pensioner has been reunited with his Thai wife after losing touch with her for four years when he went home to Switzerland for medical treatment and lost her address and phone number. Emile Georges Jean-Petit-Matile and 70-year-old Krajai (pictured left and right, after being reunited), his wife of more than 20 years, had lived together on the island of Koh Phangan in Thailand. But in 2014, he needed to return to his native Switzerland for medical treatment. Earlier this month, he contacted tourist police at Suvarnabhumi Airport in Bangkok in a last-ditch bid to find her. Officers tracked down his wife and arranged for Emile to be flown over from Switzerland. They embraced at the port harbour after Emile stepped off the boat to his waiting before returning to their home. 'I have to tell you, that even though when you are old and your body hardly works, the feelings of love and joy are just as strong,' Emile said.

Thai police investigate deaths of two British tourists on Koh Tao
Police on the scenic resort island of Koh Tao in southern Thailand conducted a sweep of hotels and workers' residences Tuesday searching for clues into the slayings of two British tourists whose nearly naked, battered bodies were found on a beach a day earlier.
More than 70 police officers were deployed to Koh Tao, a popular diving destination in the Gulf of Thailand, as the country's leaders called for a swift investigation into a pair of brutal killings that marked a new blow to Thailand's tourism industry.
The bodies of Hannah Witheridge, 23, and David Miller, 24, were discovered on Monday morning in a rocky alcove along the shore close to the hotel where they were staying.
Both had deep wounds and gashes to the head and face that police believe were inflicted by a bloodied hoe found near the bodies.
The pair traveled to Koh Tao with friends and met each other on the island while staying in neighbouring rooms at Ocean View Bungalows, police said.
The bodies of Witheridge, from Great Yarmouth, Norfolk, and Williams, from Jersey, Channel Islands, were being sent on Tuesday to forensic police in Bangkok.
The attack came amid government efforts to revive Thailand's tourism industry after a military coup in May ended prolonged, sometimes violent political protests. Martial law remains in effect in many parts of Thailand.
Koh Tao, which is about 410 kilometres (250 miles) south of Bangkok, is known as a quiet, small and scenic island. It's a short boat ride from the better-known resort islands of Koh Samui and Koh Phangan, the latter known for its raucous full moon parties that attract young travelers from Thailand and abroad.

Thailand Cabin & Private Sailing Cruise Phuket to the Southern Islands on Catamaran Amadeus
Thailand's 48 foot catamaran Amadeus Cabin Charters November till April. See here the itinerary:
Day 1 – Transfer from the airport or from your hotel to Chalong, where the ship is moored. At 10:30 AM, you meet the captain, can board the catamaran Amadeus and settle into your cabin. After an orientation by the Captain, the Amadeus sets off at 11:30 AM.
In about 90 minutes, you will reach Koh Mai Thon Island, where you can enjoy the warm, clear waters of the Indian Ocean.
Then you will have your first taste of our chef’s delicious cooking. After lunch, we will set sail again, this time for Ko Phi Phi Don. Tonsai Bay, the main bay in Phi Phi island is not a quiet and tranquil place
There you can wander through the streets, have a drink at a bar, or relax with a massage. In the evening, enjoy a wonderful dinner aboard the ship. This will be our first overnight location.
If you prefer a more quiet bay, no problem.
Day 2 – Anyone feeling energetic to walk to the viewpoint? One needs to go early, before it gets hot and the steep steps will get you out of breath, but you will be rewarded with an amazing view of the two large Bays.
You will return to the yacht and breakfast will be waiting for you before we set sail for Kantiang Beach in Ko Lanta, This is one of the larger islands and it offers great beaches and the island is covered with natural forests inviting you for a scenic walk to a water fall. After you return, we sail a bit further South to a secluded anchorage and here we have a great small restaurant with excellent Thai cuisine. This will give you the chance to eat out for a change and experience real Thai hospitality. (The dinner and drinks on shore are not included in the price)
Day 3 – On this day, breakfast will be served while we sail. Our destination: Ko Muk Island.
Here you can visit the Emerald Cave, where a breath-taking surprise awaits you.
Once again, we will hoist our big sails, and with good wind, we should reach Ko Rok Nok Island in about two hours. This area is world-famous for its snorkeling and diving, and it boasts the most beautiful beach of the Andaman Sea.
The water is crystal clear, and the range of sea life in the Coral Sea will amaze you. In the evening, we’ll set up a barbecue on the white sand, which you can enjoy under a beautiful sunset.
Day 4 – You really won’t want to leave right away. Before we set off, make sure to take one last dip in this gorgeous natural setting.
On the way to Ko Phi Phi Leh, we will stop for more snorkeling at Ko Ha. You might be able to catch some tuna for very fresh sashimi along the way.
Just in time for a spectacular sunset, we arrive at Maya Bay. This is where the film “The Beach” was shot. The bay’s main beach is closed at the moment to give the reef a chance to recover from over tourism, but we are still able to pick up a mooring and stay at this spectacular place for the night.
Day 5 – At seven in the morning, the world is just waking up. Enjoy a fresh cup of coffee as you contemplate the morning light in Maya Bay. We depart before breakfast to another secluded place on the West coast of Phi Phi Don, enjoy the snorkeling and breakfast there and you can try the SUP or grab a kayak to paddle to the beach.
Later we set sail and depart for Ko Racha Yai, with the hope to spot some bottle nose dolphins which are regulars in that area. Again, the waters there are crystal clear inviting you for a swim and snorkel. We have several anchorages to choose from, all of them feature stunning beaches.
Day 6 – After breakfast, the ship will take you back to Phuket’s Chalong Bay. We will arrive around noon, and you will disembark with unforgettable memories. Of course, we will make sure get you to the airport on time, or take you to your hotel.
