New Delhi, India (First Impressions) | Travel Photography
Feeling a little overwhelmed and with very little sleep I experience India, in their capital New Delhi, for the first time. With only a couple of days to explore I attempt to capture a glimpse of the city. From the Palace, Indian Gate and back into the Main Bazar by the slum area.
Including my escape North, destination Dharamasala. A much cooler climate on the foot hills of the Himalayas.

12 Most Instagram Worthy Spots In Delhi | Photo Spots in Delhi | Best Photo shoot locations in Delhi
The beauty of Delhi is explored to a certain extent, there is still more to be explored about the city of dillwalas. If you are unable to decide where to get your #pre-wedding #photo-shoot then drop all your worries and head to these places in Delhi.
Jantar Mantar is a beautifully designed monument which is underrated because of the stigma attached to it. Another one is Jama Masjid. This beautiful mosque in old Delhi is one of the most Instagrammed spots in the city. If you are looking to capture the beauty of this place, then climb the stairs to one of the towers around the praying area for the perfect shot. Haveli Dharma is the restored Haveli in the by-lanes of Chandni Chowk and it is the best way to experience the heritage of the city of Shajanbad.
In recent times, Delhi streets have become canvases for graffiti artists, which has led to the creation of India’s first open-air public art district. Capture the beautiful artwork on the walls of Lodhi colony. If you haven’t driven on Rajpath late at night or early in the morning during winters, you are seriously missing out on something amazing! Go on a photo walk at the beautiful Lodi Gardens. You’ll find something interesting to take a picture of, after every few steps in Garden of five senses. Another most instagram worthy spot in #Delhi is Dilli haat, Chandni Chowk and Lotus temple and Ghazipur Flower Mandi.

Colours of India Fotoworkshops Photography Tour 2019
India is evocative of many images and colour seems to be a common element. Never is this more true than during the annual Spring festivities marking Holi. The locals refer to it as ‘Rang Leela’ which translates as ‘Colour Play’ and will often speak of ‘playing Holi’. There is a sense of joy, abandon and excess which plays beautifully and strikingly into the lens of any photographer.
India is a fascinating land of contrasts yet Holi becomes a brief leveller as everyone is treated equally. This is literally the case as after a festive day of dousing in colours, everyone looks uniformly resplendent in the rainbows of powders and coloured water each has acquired to their bodies and clothes.
This tour will take you to the north of India, where Holi is most avidly celebrated. We will attend two spectacular pre-Holi events that are held one week in advance and then ensure we are in a location with an iconic background for a colour festival, the ‘Blue City’ of Jodhpur in Rajasthan.
As the large majority of Indians still live in rural areas, our itinerary spends most of its time outside the mega-city destinations of most Indian tours. This allows for easier freedom of movement, no lost hours sitting in traffic jams, closer contact with ‘real’ India, a more relaxed form of exploration and opportunities to access a much wider variety of customs and local activities.
Our carefully selected accommodation provides elements of iconic settings, world-class luxury, preserved heritage, convenience, comfort and variety. Each property has been recently inspected and quality is assured.
Professional landscape photographer Glenn Mckimmin has teamed up with Terry Taylor to guide this expedition. Terry Taylor has been to India over 65 times. He has been leading tours in the sub-continent for 39 years, is a published and keen photographer and even keener host. He has taken to heart the ancient Indian motto: Atithi Devo Bhava – The guest is god. Terry is a Fellow of the Royal Geographic Society, a member of the International Association of Tour Managers and has personally experienced the Barsana and Nandgaon Rang Leela festivals to ensure you receive optimal information, guidance and opportunities when you attend.

Watch all my videos from India:
Since I was unable to spend any time sightseeing during my first visit to Delhi, I have returned for a second time so I can actually take in the sites and attractions this time.
I've also decided to stay in New Delhi as opposed to Old Delhi which is much nicer, has a lot more bars and restaurants and overall a much nicer vibe. Specifically I stayed in the Hauz Khas Village next to Deer Park.
I visit Humayun's Tomb, Red Fort and Jama Majid mosque, one of the largest Mosques in all of India. There's plenty of street and travel photography and of course there's some of the usual drama that seems to follow me around India too.
Earlier in the day I tried to visit the Lotus Temple too, however I was not allowed in with my video camera (despite everyone pretty much having a high quality video camera in their pockets these days) so to ensure I got into the other sites without any problems I got rid of my video camera and so this video is shot entirely on my Samsung Galaxy S8 (so please excuse the audio not always being perfect in a very noisy City)
