Plaza del Ayuntamiento, Valencia 2016
Literally translated “Town Hall Square”, the grandiose Plaza del Ayuntamiento is the main square in Valencia and probably the best starting point from which to visit the city.Home to some of the most representative administrative buildings in Valencia, Plaza del Ayuntamiento features an outstanding mix of Spanish architectural styles.
Dominating the square are the stunning neoclassical Town Hall (Ayuntamiento) and the magnificent Central Post Office (Edificio de Correos), designed by architect Miguel Angel Navarro in a beautiful eclectic style that combines striking Modernista features with lavish baroque-inspired interiors.Plaza del Ayuntamiento is also a favorite venue for celebrating local events and festivities, from post-game tailgating parties, Christmas Nativity scenes, and the Region of Valencia Day to the annual Fallas Festival, when the entire place is bursting with energy and spectacular mascletas (explosive pyrotechnic displays).

The Modernisme Plaza of the City Hall of Valencia was the transformation of the square of the City Hall of Valencia by Javier Goerlich in 1931, now in its site is the current Plaza of the City Hall and its fountain.
The Dr. Daniel Benito Goerlich (nephew of architect Goerlich Lleó), Professor of Art History and Curator of Cultural Heritage of the University of Valencia, assures that the reform of the 1930s belongs to a very specific social context, and was destroyed a few years later in a completely different context, the repressive postwar, towards the disaffected to the political regime of the time. Benito Goerlich, is, curiously, nephew of architect Goerlich Lleó.
The work of the Plaza del Ayuntamiento ended the previous Bajada de San Francisco, so it was expropriations that caused expected unrest among the owners and neighbors. The subsequent Plaza and Parque de Emilio Castelar is part of the height of the architectural work of Goerlich Lleó starring purist, Art Deco and Modernisme styles. Which was destined to become the new civic center of the city, competing with the plazas de la Reina and de la Virgen, it was then carried out by a high and triangular platform. The corners, culminated with fountains, representing the three provinces of the region.
The square had the bad nickname tortada (caked), referring to the upper platform, and it mainly included two elements: the steps of classic style and Mercado de las Flores (Flower Market). The latter was an underground space, that inserted into the square itself, served for florists of the city sell their product. However, they were strongly opposed to be housed inside from the start. The space them was narrow and dark and, although it was a badge element to the square and the city, considered that supposed its commercial ruin.

Valencia's City Council Square/Plaza Ayuntamiento Valencia (España)
At the South East of Spain there is a City Called Murcia. If you usually live in a cold Country, you will love its heat.
This city is not small neither is big.
You can go for a stroll and enjoy its hot temperature all year.
Murcia is very close to Alicante and a little bit farer from Almería and Albacete.
Two or three hours from Valencia, eight from Barcelona (both of them using A7 railway) and four and a half from Madrid (A3).

Plaza de la Reina Walking Tour In Valencia Spain,
Plaza de la Reina Walking Tour: This is a walk around Plaza de la Reina in Valencia Spain. I start by Micalet Tower and Valencia Cathedral. I then check out the side streets where there are a lot of good restaurants. This is where many tourists come during the day and at night to have a good Spanish meal. From there, I walk by The National Museum of Ceramics which has a very ornate exterior. I continue on and end at City Hall plaza to the large fountain named Fuente Luminosa Plaza del Ayuntamiento.

From March 1, is there every day at 14.00 hours on the Plaza Ayuntamiento a fireworks show. This is the ' Villa '. It is violently bangers in certain rhythms. A villa you have once in your life, because it is very impressive! A successful Villa has a good structure in which rhythms are to discover, so many people at the end of a Villa hard clap or jump.
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------
