From the Beach to the Center of Malaga - Spain 4K Travel Channel
Malaga is not only the second largest city in Andalusia but also the second most important cruise port in Spain. Enormous efforts were made and within the last few years the pier was completely new expanded. Also see:
Malaga was founded by the Phoenicians, however, for a long time dominated by Carthage. In the second Punic War, Malaga fell to the Romans.
This is testified by a magnificent amphitheater in the center of city.
In the 11th century the Moors ruled here and built the Alcazaba (Citadel) . At the siege of Napoleon Bonaparte in the 17th century, it was partially destroyed.
In the morning we take the city bus no.14 to the beach Playa de la Malagueta. The Costa del Sol is known for its pleasant subtropical climate and its long sandy beaches. The sea and the beach are wreathed in a morning haze.
Only a few smaller boats are on the sea. At first it looked like the rescue of boat people, but then turned out to be a rescue exercise.
One sees at the solid concrete walls for the coastal and port protection, that the sea here also can be rough and brutal.
The colorful cube-shaped building in the center of the Paseo del Muelle Dos is a branch of the Museum Centre Pompidou.
We enjoy the colorful mass of flowers at the fountain, Fuente de las Tres Gracias, and in the park, Jardines de Pedro Luis Alonso.
Along the slope below the citadel, we go to the Plaza de la Aduana. Modern sculptures decorate the square. It is probably a sign that Malaga wanted to become European Capital of Culture in 2016. Unfortunately the city has not been awarded. We pass the amphitheater, Teatro Romano de Malaga, and reach the Plaza de la Merced.
The obelisk in the center is dedicated to General Don Jose Maria Torrijos. In 1831, he was shot on the beach together with 48 comrades. In the background we see the house where Pablo Picasso was born.
Via Calle Granada with its narrow and winding side streets we reach the Plaza de la Constitucion.
From here, the Calle Marques de Larios leads to the Plaza de la Marina where our walk ends. The Plaza de la Marina, together with all the department stores and cafes, forms the heart of the business center of the city.

MÁLAGA WALK along City Centre Main Shopping Streets | Spain
A first-person perspective Málaga walk tour of the Málaga City Centre main shopping streets.
See all the sights as Watched Walker (yes, I’m talking about myself in the third person) takes us on a walking tour through the streets of Málaga, featuring the major shopping streets of Málaga City Centre. The tour begins on the canopied, pedestrianised shopping street Calle Marqués de Larios, next travels north to the Plaza de la Constitución (Constitution Square), then along Calle Granada where the tour concludes.
Sights seen along the tour include 'Points of View' sculpture by Tony Cragg, Málaga Cathedral, Sebastiâo Salgado’s ‘Génesis’ photography exhibition, Fuente de Génova (Fountain of Genoa), and the ‘Panta Rei’ (Everything Flows) sculpture by Blanca Munoz.
And in each video I've hidden a blinking eye, can you spot it? (It could appear more than once). In addition to the blinking eye, I've also added the Watched Walker logo to various scenes–it could be on buildings, vehicles or any other objects, so keep an eye out for it too!

Join us for this 4k virtual tour of Benalmádena Marina on the Costa Del Sol near Málaga. Experience local life on as if you were there. Then do leave a comment or tip about the town below, we'll always take time to reply.
Filmed on the last day of February, we start our slow tv walking tour on Costa de la Carihuela - the promenade lined with restaurants and bars that leads all the way from Torremolinos.
The sun is still warm and the shadows are long as we cut across Playa la Fuente de la Salud to join Calle La Fragata and gain sight of the boats and yachts moored up in the Marina itself.
Puerto Marina has won the 'Best Marina in the World' award several times, and is characterised by its unique architecture.
Benalmádena Marina (Puerto Marina) is also the natural choice for nightlife with it's huge choice of restaurants - Asian, Italian, Tapas and Steak to name a few, and bars and cafes that overlook the water. There's also clubs for when the sun goes down.
A visit to the Marina is definitely on the top of the Benalmadena top 10 things to do.

The square is a popular meeting place in the evening and its open air events that take place regularly is one that is favourable amongst locals and tourists. There are many cafes nearby that become very busy with people, often reminiscent of the busy market place that used to take place here in the 15th century.
