Walking from Shijō Kawaramachi to Pontocho Alley in Downtown Kyoto, Japan [Night] ????【4K】
Kyoto (京都市) was Japan's capital for over a thousand years, and was the center of Japanese art, religion, architecture and political power.
Although Kyoto is known for classic traditional houses, ancient shrines and temples, there's another side of it that brings you to a modern, vibrant shopping district.
Shijō Kawaramachi (四条河原町) is the central business district in Kyoto, Japan where Shijō and Kawaramachi Streets intersect. Kawaramachi Street runs parallel to the Kamo River on the eastern side of Kyoto, while Shijō Street runs east–west through the center of the city.
Ponto-chō (先斗町) is a Hanamachi district in Kyoto, Japan, known for geiko and maiko and home to many geiko houses and traditional tea houses. Like Gion, Ponto-chō is famous for the preservation of forms of traditional architecture and entertainment.

Pontocho in Kyoto.
Here is beautiful place!
Kyoto Restaurant Tour Experience | Gion at Night ★ ONLY in JAPAN
Kyoto, Japan. Think food. Lots of food! That's dining out in the city and Gion is the place to be at night. Tempura, Tofu, Ramen, Wagyu Steaks, Sushi, Sashimi, Sukiyaki, Grilled Fish ... it's endless! All with some of the best Japanese sake in the land! I haven't even gotten to the desserts!
Now close your eyes ー imagine beautiful Japanese streets lined with hundreds of wooden tea houses, red paper lanterns, bamboo -- and Geisha floating by. That's where we are going!
For first time visitors to Japan, knowing Japanese is often important to get the full dining experience. Although I can speak Japanese, I was alone so I decided to book a tour with a local guide.
What is this Magical Tour you ask?

What to EAT in KYOTO? JAPAN FOOD GUIDE
Where to eat in Kyoto in 2018? Our recent visit to Kyoto was all about the food this time round. We hope it serves as a small food guide of what delicious food Kyoto has to offer.
We started our food adventure at Nakatanidou near Nara Kintetsu Station to watch the famous Mochi Pounding. There is no set time to watch this dramatic high speed Mochi pounding process. They start the process once they start to run out of their speciality Yomogi Mochi. You either have to keep coming back or be lucky.
We then took the train to Kyoto to try some street food at Nishiki Market. You can find a whole range different foods as well as fresh produce and seafood.
Not to far we have located Kyoto Gogyo to try theor speciality kogashi or burnt ramen. One of the best ramen experiences we’ve had!
For the dog lovers, there is an opportunity to play with adorable shibu inu puppies at Mameshiba Cafe.
To cool off try some Matcha desserts and shaved ice at Tsjuiri. You can find matcha anywhere better!
Our last meal we had Tempura Donburi ‘Tendon’. The visual speaks for itself. The tempura batter was deep fried peefectly. Who doesn’t want a bowl of deep fried deliciousness!
Places we visited:
Nakatanidou, Nara - Yomogi Mochi!
or
Nishiki Market, Kyoto - Street Food!
or
Mameshiba Cafe, Kyoto - Shiba pups
Gogyo, Kyoto - Burnt Miso Ramen
or
Tsujiri Tea House, Gion - Matcha desserts
or
Negiya Heikichi Takesegawa (Do NOT go to Pontocho branch if you want Tendon!) - Tendon !
or
