End of road trip - Chapel Hill + Durham, NC
Our Airstream videos are coming soon! We're a little behind on videos and we want to keep telling our story in chronological order. Soon you will see us pick up the Airstream from Less Junk, More Journey, so hold tight!
This video tells the story of the final stop on our mini-van road trip: Chapel Hill and Durham, North Carolina.
In Chapel Hill, we stayed right on the campus University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. We spent our days roaming around the beautiful quads and gardens during the days, and getting eaten alive by mosquitos at night. We visited a planetarium and Mama had a mini existential crisis. The girls loved the statue of a giant spider.
In Durham, we visited the Museum and Life and Science and explored the beautiful and lively downtown area. We came across a giant, underutilized park with some mysterious technological relics on display, came across some community gardens with yummy tomatoes, and ate some delicious bar-b-q while watching the scene come alive at night.
What a wonderful way to end this amazing, life-changing road trip! The plan is to fly home out of Raleigh in a couple days . . . but we're feeling pulled toward attempting the long drive west in our minivan. Are we crazy? (YES)

Inside the Real Estate Agency: what most agents DON'T do will cost you thousands
Real Estate Agents: Weekly tips and highlights about Coming Soon listings and tying in your site with this program: Create the excitement for your sellers and MARKET their home. Don't just dump it in the MLS.
Home sellers: what most agent DON'T do will cost you thousands. Watch this video!
How do I sell a coming soon listing? And to me is really quite simple. It’s akin to where the term coming soon came from in the first place. It came from the motion picture industry and if you recall perhaps even last Christmas you went to see some movies that you like.
There was one out that I want to see Unbroken and there was another one called American Sniper and I love those two movies. But what happened was interesting if you think about of the process of them putting a new movie in the movie theater across Unites States, they just don’t happen there one day you don’t just hear one day, what happen is they promote the movie before it ever hits the movie theater. They tell you it’s going be the best thing that ever was. You just cant live without seeing that movie you see to an American what’s coming next is always better what’s coming now.
That’s the whole principle behind coming soon is to wait and build momentum until you actually gone an audience.
Now maybe your audience is only be two people because you’re in a slower market or maybe rural market but everyday that your house is an active listing is a negative for your seller.
You know I always tell my seller that listing begin to loose value after the first day they are on the market, so the very best thing that you can do for a seller is to come up with more than one possible buyer.
And you do that, my friend, by having your listings in a coming soon period where you’re building momentum, where your building curiosity for the listing.
So those are a few quick thoughts. I’m sure I’m going to tell you some more things but you have to get to the place where you really understand that we are not, our sole way of marketing real estate is simply not by dumping a house in MLS.
There is actually some things we need to do, we need to till this ground, we need plow the field, we need to ring the bell; we need to build momentum, and curiosity, excitement, and we actually need to hold it back just a little bit so that we can actually do the thing that we tell our seller that we are going to do, market their home instead of dumping in MLS.
So that’s what I got for right now I’m sure I’ll be back with more. Thanks.

Listening is a more natural way of learning, when compared to reading. Written language only began at around 3200 BC, but spoken language has existed long ago.
Learning by listening is a great way to:

- learn while on the move
- reduce eye strain

SUMMARY
=======
Greensboro ( (listen); formerly Greensborough) is a city in the U.S. state of North Carolina. It is the 3rd-most populous city in North Carolina, the 68th-most populous city in the United States, and the county seat and largest city in Guilford County and the surrounding Piedmont Triad metropolitan region. As of the 2010 census, the city population was 269,666, and in 2015 the estimated population was 285,342. Three major interstate highways (Interstate 40, Interstate 85, and Interstate 73) in the Piedmont region of central North Carolina were built to intersect at this city.
In 1808, Greensborough (the spelling before 1895) was planned around a central courthouse square to succeed Guilford Court House as the county seat. The county courts were thus placed closer to the geographical center of the county, a location more easily reached at the time by the majority of the county's citizens, who depended on horse and foot for travel.
In 2003, the previous Greensboro – Winston-Salem – High Point metropolitan statistical area (MSA) was re-defined by the U.S. Office of Management and Budget. This region was separated into the Greensboro–High Point MSA and the Winston-Salem MSA. The 2010 population for the Greensboro–High Point MSA was 723,801. The combined statistical area (CSA) of Greensboro–Winston-Salem–High Point, popularly referred to as the Piedmont Triad, had a population of 1,599,477.
Among Greensboro's many notable attractions, some of the most popular include the Wet 'n Wild Emerald Pointe water park, the Greensboro Science Center, the International Civil Rights Museum, the Weatherspoon Art Museum, the Greensboro Symphony, the Greensboro Ballet, Triad Stage, the Wyndham Golf Championship, the headquarters of the Atlantic Coast Conference, the Greensboro Coliseum Complex which hosts various sporting events, concerts, and other events, the Greensboro Grasshoppers of the South Atlantic Baseball League, the Carolina Dynamo of the Premier Development Soccer League, the Greensboro Swarm of the NBA G League, the Greensboro Roller Derby, and the National Folk Festival.

From Farm to Fork: The Art of Grass-fed Meats – Grass Roots Farmers' Cooperative – #592
In this episode of Bulletproof Radio, Dave talks with Cody Hopkins at the 6th Annual Biohacking Conference. Cody is a physicist turned first-generation farmer turned founder and CEO of Grass Roots Farmers’ Cooperative.
He has spent more than a dozen years developing a vertically integrated sustainable livestock farm with an unwavering vision of creating a farming business that is good for the animals, good for the environment and good for customers.
Cody and his wife, Andrea Todt, established Grass Roots Farmers’ Cooperative in 2014, with their own Falling Sky Farm in Arkansas as one of the founding farms. Grass Roots is a collective partnership of more than 20 small farms across the U.S—in places such as Oregon, Nevada, Kansas, Kentucky, Missouri, Texas, Arkansas, and North Carolina—fostering respectful farming practices and love for the land.
“Grass Roots Cooperative is on a mission to change the way meat is produced and consumed in this country,” Cody says. “Healthy animals raised outdoors with sunlight, fresh air, and clean grass—no hormones, antibiotics, or GMOs needed.”
The goal is to reach 100 farms over the next three years.
Farms in the cooperative follow a single set of the highest quality standards with a focus on five priorities:
Health & Nutrition
Sustainability
Farmer to You
Butchered by Hand
Transparency
“As customers are demanding more and more transparency and higher and higher quality meat that's healthier for them, where the animals are treated better, it's creating a whole new opportunity for farmers,” Cody says. “We’re always looking for those symbiotic relationships, where you're putting an animal in an environment that it's evolved to live in, versus trying to force them into some other system.”
The outcome? A naturally balanced ecosystem, soil regeneration and productive pastures.
Grass Roots’ aim is to provide the best quality and most nutritious meat in a manner that is humane, transparent, sustainable and fair. Its farms are the first in the United States to use blockchain technology to trace their products from farm to fork. This allows customers to be confident in the origin and quality of the meat they buy. Grass Roots also has an open-farm policy and is completely transparent at every stage.
“Let's focus on supporting small scale farmers that are doing this right,” Cody says. “That really is what it comes back to for me, being able to connect with those small farmers, support them, and let the customers vote with their dollar on the kind of food system they want to support.”
And that, says Dave, is “actually how food is supposed to work.”

The Master of the World by Jules Verne | Audio book with subtitles
Chief Inspector Strock gets the tough cases. When a volcano suddenly appears to threaten mountain towns of North Carolina amid the non-volcanic Blue Ridge Mountains, Strock is posted to determine the danger. When an automobile race in Wisconsin is interrupted by the unexpected appearance of a vehicle traveling at multiples of the top speed of the entrants, Strock is consulted. When an odd-shaped boat is sighted moving at impossible speeds off the New England coast, Stock and his boss begin to wonder if the incidents are related. And when Strock gets a hand-lettered note warning him to abandon his investigation, on pain of death, he is intrigued rather than deterred.
Set in a period when gasoline engines were in their infancy and automobiles were rare, and when even Chief Inspectors had to engage a carriage and horses to move about, the appearance of a vehicle that can move at astounding speeds on land, on water - and as later revealed, underwater and through the air - marks a technological advance far beyond the reach of nations. It is technology invented by and for the sole benefit of a man who styles himself (with some justification) The Master of the World.
This book is a sequel to an earlier Verne novel, Robur the Conqueror, but enough detail is given to fully appreciate this story without having first read the other. (Summary by Mark)
