[4K] Štramberk - ciekawe miasteczko w Czechach (interesting town in Czechia) (videoturysta.eu)

[EN] We visited Štramberk in sunny autumn. Štramberk is a small town in the Moravian-Silesian Region, Czechia, near Nový Jičín and Příbor, about 40 km south of Ostrava. The village was founded on a wooded hillside of limestone, on top of which is located an interesting castle tower (Trúba). Due to the location of the city and its many sights, as well as of the unique wooden houses from the eighteenth and nineteenth centuries, the town was called the Moravian Bethlehem. Near the town there is the Šipka cave, where the remnants of a Neanderthal child's bones were found.

European Heritage Label - Olomouc Premyslid Castle and Archdiocesan Museum
The European Heritage Label goes to cultural heritage sites important to the history of the EU as a whole. European Heritage Label sites are also recognised for highlighting this European context, ensuring access for the public and organising awareness-raising activities.
The Olomouc Premyslid Castle and Archdiocesan Museum in Czech Republic was selected for the European Heritage Label in 2016. The Olomouc Premyslid Castle and Archdiocesan Museum are a focal point of Moravian presence in European history. It is an early centre of Christianity, a place that preserves and highlights the high level of artistic patronage of the archbishops of Moravia, and a fine example of heritage conservation in the region.

Loket Castle 2006, Czech Republic
We visited castle and town Loket in April 2006. Its foundations reach the 9th century and preserved Romanesque rotunda is part of otherwise gothic structure. Czech Emperor and King Charles IV was imprisoned there by his father as a little boy at the beginning of 14th century. The main attractions of the castle are torture chamber and the museum of porcelain from 19th century.
Hrad a město Loket jsme navštívili v dubnu 2006. Základy hradu pocházejí až z devátého století a v jinak gotické stavbě je zachovaná románská rotunda z 12. století. Král Karel IV. tam byl svým otcem Přemyslem Otakarem II. vězněn jako malý hoch začátkem 14. století. Hlavními atrakcemi hradu jsou mučidla a muzeum porcelánu z 19. století.

From the gorgeous island Bermuda, to charming tourist destinations, here are
15 of the most beautiful villages you should visit! Subscribe for weekly wacky videos and learn interesting facts about the world with awesome top 10 lists and other amazing videos.
7 - Caleta, Chile - Caleta Tortel is a scenic coastal village located in Chile. It is situated between the mouth of the Baker River, Chile’s largest, and the Baker Channel embayment. The magnificent coastline is surrounded by rugged geography including a number of channels, fjords, and islands. The town itself consists of a number of stilt houses built along the coast. However its most unique feature is that the town contains no roadways. Instead, wooden walkways connect the village, giving it its distinctive look and feel.
6 - Niagra-on-the-Lake, Canada – Niagra-on-the-Lake is located in Southern Ontario Canada. It can be found right where Niagra River meets Lake Ontario and is just across Niagra River from Youngstown New York. Originally called Butlersburg when it was settled in 1781, this town is known for many of its restored military sites, such as Fort George, Butler’s Barracks and Navy Hall. Niagra-on-the-Lake is also attributed to starting many of the province’s institutions, for example the first newspaper, historical museum and parliament. One of the highlights for tourists is the Shaw Festival, which is a showcase of theatrical performances of George Bernard Shaw’s work. It uses three theaters in town and hosts some of the most talented actors and directors.
5 – Shirakawa-go, Japan - The village of Shirakawa-go in Japan is a UNESCO world heritage site, located in the Shogawa river valley. The village if best known for the architecture of its houses, which were built in the gassho-zukuri style. Gassho-Zukuri, or “prayer-hands construction” houses are characterized by their steeply slanting thatched roofs, which resemble two hands joined together in prayer. This design is exceptionally strong, which is necessary to withstand the cold and heavy snowfalls the village receives during the winter months. These large houses, three to four stories tall, are built to house large extended families. The houses are also surrounded by densely forested mountains that occupy over 90% of the available landmass and present unsurpassed views.
4 - Hallstatt, Austria - Hallstatt is a small alpine village, located in Salzkammergut, a region in upper Austria. It is named due to its proximity to the nearby Hallstatt Lake. The town’s claim to fame is that it contains the “world’s oldest pipeline”, which was constructed in the early 1600’s from 13,000 hollowed out trees. Up until the late 19th century, the only way to access Hallstatt was by boat, as the town consumed every available inch of free land between the mountains. Despite its remote location, the area has been home to one of the first human settlements,
3 – Eze, France - The village of Eze, located in France, extends from the Mediterranean Sea to the neighboring mountains. It was founded around 600 BC by shepherds who created a settlement. Part of the French Riviera, this small medieval village is famous for its beauty and charm and is world
2 - Kastelorizo Island, Greece – Kastelorizo Island is located on the Mediterranean Sea and has become a popular tourist spot in recent years. This spike in tourism is partly due to the 1991 Oscar-winning film, Mediterraneo being filmed there. The most eastern of the Greek islands, Katelorizo is primarily limestone and because it has little plant life, the result is many beautiful sea caves. The houses of the island are skinny and are recognized by their wooden balconies overlooking the water. The culture and
traditions on the island are influenced largely by Muslim customs.
1 - Cesky Krumlov, Czech Republic – Known as the “Castle City” of the Czech Republic, Cesky Krumlov is a medieval village with winding roads that twist around the Cesky Krumlov castle. The castle and town was constructed in 1240 and old Czech legend translates the name to mean “crooked meadow.” German miners began settling in the village in the late 15th century when gold was found near the town. It fell into disrepair during the Communist era of Czechoslovakia, but the beauty has since been restored since the Velvet Revolution of 1989.

Karlovy Vary & Cesky Krumlov Slideshow-Display_2.m4v
Karlovy Vary - a delightful l'I'll town with character that so surprised me! Besides hosting Europe's second most celebrated film fest annually, the town has been the spa of choice for the European Aristocracy for centuries, given its therapeutic hot springs and romantic ambiance that rejuvenates the body, the mind and the soul!
Cesky Krumlov, a majestic castle and its ramparts overlooking a picturesque little town- medieval architecture, secret alchemic symbols a la Knight Templars, a torture museum as well as some fairly opulent furnishings and art that leaves one enthralled and in awe. Second only in size to the Chateau Prague, this is one of the best preserved castle town in the Czech Republic, though the Chateau Konopiste boasts of the best armoury.

TRIP TO PRAGUE - CZECH REPUBLIC
Prague (play /ˈprɑːɡ/; Czech: Praha pronounced [ˈpraɦa] ( listen)) is the capital and largest city of the Czech Republic.[4] Situated in the north-west of the country on the Vltava river, the city is home to about 1.3 million people, while its metropolitan area is estimated to have a population of over 2.3 million.[5] The city has a temperate oceanic climate with warm summers and chilly winters.
Prague has been a political, cultural and economic centre of Europe[citation needed] and particularly central Europe[citation needed] during its 1,100 year existence. For centuries, during the Gothic and Renaissance eras, Prague was the permanent seat of two Holy Roman Emperors and thus was also the capital of the Holy Roman Empire.[6][7] Later it was an important city in the Habsburg Monarchy and the Austro-Hungarian Empire,[citation needed] and after World War I became the capital of Czechoslovakia. The city played major roles in the Protestant Reformation, the Thirty Years' War, and in 20th-century history, during both World Wars and the post-war Communist era.
Prague is home to a number of famous cultural attractions, many of which survived the violence and destruction of twentieth century Europe. Main attractions include the following: Prague Castle, the Charles Bridge, Old Town Square, the Jewish Quarter, the Lennon Wall, and Petřín hill. Since 1992, the extensive historic centre of Prague has been included in the UNESCO list of World Heritage Sites.
Prague boasts more than ten major museums, along with countless theatres, galleries, cinemas, and other historical exhibits. Also, Prague is home to a wide range of public and private schools, including the famous Charles University. Its rich history makes it a popular tourist destination, and the city receives more than 4.1 million international visitors annually, as of 2009.[8][9] Prague is classified as a Beta+ global city according to GaWC studies, comparable to Berlin, Rome, or Vancouver.
A modern public transportation system connects the city. Prague is also accessible by road, train, and air.
Since the fall of the Iron Curtain, Prague has become one of Europe's (and the world's) most popular tourist destinations. It is the sixth most-visited European city after London, Paris, Rome, Madrid and Berlin.[31] Prague suffered considerably less damage during World War II than some other major cities in the region, allowing most of its historic architecture to stay true to form. It contains one of the world's most pristine and varied collections of architecture, from Art Nouveau to Baroque, Renaissance, Cubist, Gothic, Neo-Classical and ultra-modern. Some popular sights include:
Prague Castle with the St. Vitus Cathedral which store the Czech Crown Jewels
Old Town (Staré Město) with its Old Town Square
