Rusty Wallace Racing Experience @ Chicagoland Speedway
Chicagoland Speedway, located in Joliet, Ill., is only 40 miles from the birthplace of automobile racing in America. The first automobile race between gasoline-powered vehicles ever held in the United States actually took place on Nov. 28, 1895, when six cars left Jackson Park in Chicago for a 54-mile race to Evanston, Ill., and back in the snow. Frank Duryea took just more than 10 hours, averaging 7.3 mph, to win the race and earn $2,000. Chicagoland Speedway has 18-degree banking in its turns. The 2,400-foot frontstretch has 11 degree banking and the backstretch, which runs 1,700 feet, is banked at 5 degrees. It takes NASCAR’s top drivers less than 30 seconds to speed around its 1.5 miles in qualifying trim – Jeff Gordon set a track record in qualifying for the 2004 Tropicana 400 at 28.886 seconds, an average speed of 186.942 mph.

Rusty Wallace Experience - Delaware Ontario
Here is the video from my track time during the Rusty Wallace Driving Experience. It was an absolute blast! I would highly recommend it to any gear head! This was done at our local short track in Delaware Ontario so the speeds were not too extreme but since this I have put it on my bucket list to do the NASCAR experience at a super speedway to experience it at high speeds.
Old fart at Chicagoland Speedway in Rusty Wallace Racing Experience
I try out the #20 Dollar General car at Chicagoland Speedway in Joliet, IL with Rusty Wallace Racing Experience. My fastest lap at the 1.5 mile tri oval was 48 seconds. I have driven cars on several tracks including my BMW 3 at Autobahn and Blackhawk farms, but this was the most exciting and fun of my 67 years on this earth!

Indy Car Ride-Along for Brian
I took a ride in the 2-seater Indy Car to honor our brother, Brian, who we lost to ALS in 2015. Attending the Indy 500 was/is a yearly tradition for us, as my father was the appraiser for the speedway museum, and we have felt part of the racing family since being little.
Each time we visit the track, we always think of Brian; the excitement he would get describing the current battles happening for points in the series, his mimicking noises of indy cars whizzing around the track, and the pure joy it gave him.
I used a set of Google Glass to show what it was like from my point-of-view: FAST!
There is some distortion in the ride along video (maybe from the vibrations and sheer force?) but it will give you a good idea of how awesome an experience it is. Brian wasn't here to give it a go, so we rode for him. Love you, Brian!

Indy car drive 165.54 MPH Mario Andretti Experience, KY Speedway
June 28th 2015, i go this drive for my Birthday, it is the Mario Andretti Racing experience at KY Speedway. you have your own spotter that is in constant contact with you via in car headsets. i managed to pull 165.54 MPH, the trick is to stay just under the chip, when you hit it, lift slightly to stay under, get in the middle lane on the straights then attack the corner. Absolutely brilliant! loved it.

Rusty Wallace Racing Experience November 1, 2014 Homestead, Miami, Fl
1st time driving a race car. It was fun, could have gone faster, but car was pretty used up. The burning smell inside, made me feel a little unsure and the tires upon entry of the car were well used up. Prior to entering the car mechanics were inspecting where the smell was coming from, my guess was the gears were burning up. There was no smoke, but you could smell it. More respect for what the NASCAR drivers do for a living. I had a great experience and was fun.
Rusty Wallace Racing Experience: Milwaukee Mile: SonnyO 9/9/18
9/9/18 12 Lap Shootout.....Got stuck pacing a slow poke at end of video who wouldn't listen 2 the spotter & move out of the race line. I REALLY wanted 2 push past him but spotter had me hold back cause he wasn't sure what this knucklehead was doing. Still had a BLAST tho
