Exploring Mackinac Island
We decided to take a day from camping and take the ferry to Mackinac Island. It’s a fun touristy place that doesn’t have cars or motorcycles. Just bikes and horses! Frank comes up with some interesting tales and Alicia calls him on it! We get a view of the Grand Hotel and talk about and visit a fudge shop too!

Visiting MACKINAC ISLAND with Kids and hunting for Petoskey Stones
We loved our time on the Michigan Coast. The quaint town of Petoskey was absolutely charming and the day we spent there has become one of our favorites. We spent time searching for Petoskey stones and sea glass along to harbor. We enjoyed pizza at a local restaurant and then headed back to the harbor for balloons on the bay. We watched as hot air balloons got inflated around us and enjoyed the night glow.
The next day we headed to Mackinac Island. We rode the Star Line Ferry and had a wonderful experience. We went on the 11 am ferry and enjoyed the detour under the bridge. Our day on Mackinac was so much fun and so memorable. Andrew stayed behind due to an ankle injury. We rented biked from Ryba's and rode the 8 mile loop around the island, went into every fudge shop there was and sampled fudge, ate pizza for lunch, enjoyed a horse carriage ride, and ran in the rain up to the Grand Hotel and enjoyed ice cream. As touristy as this little island is, we loved it. We cannot wait to return.
