Saitobaru kofungun is a group of three hundred thirty three kofuns or tumuli in Saito city, Miyazaki Prefecture, Japan. This is one of the largest kofun groups in Japan, and the largest group in Kyushu situated on a 70-meter hill composed of diluvium. Saito city is located in the center of Miyazaki prefecture. The city preserves many historical ruins relating to ancient Japanese culture. Saitobaru Brial Mounds has about 300 ancient tombs in a spacious land measuring 2.6km east-west and 4.2km north-south. You can enjoy the historical scenery in the great nature. About 2000 cherry blossom trees and 8ha of a canola flower garden fully bloom in the spring. The canola garden transforms into a cosmos garden in the autumn. Saitobaru Brial Mounds got designated as a National Heritage Site in 2018 and has been a popular tourist attraction since then.
