Samuel P. Taylor State Park is a state park located in Marin County, California. It contains approximately 2,700 acres of redwood and grassland. The park contains about 600 acres of old-growth forest, some of which can be seen along the Pioneer Tree Trail.

Backpacking to Hawk Camp

Just across the Golden Gate Bridge are four overnight campsites, and one of them is Hawk Camp, which is nestled just below the summit of a VORTAC in Marin County. There are very few high-density urban places in the United States that offers opportunities to hike and camp in a National Recreation Area - San Francisco is one of them.
