SAPD: Navy senior chief shoots wife, kills self in west San Antonio
Police: Wife shot in cheek, expected to recover
SAN ANTONIO - San Antonio police say a man enlisted in the U.S. Navy shot his wife and then turned the gun on himself early Tuesday morning on the West Side.
SAPD officers responded to a reported disturbance with shots fired around 12:30 a.m. at a home in the 2200 block of Muuga Manor.
Investigators said the alleged shooter opened fire on his wife in a bedroom and shot her in the cheek. He then went to another room and fatally shot himself.
The man was pronounced dead at the scene and his wife was transported to University Hospital. Police said she was expected to survive.
Police also said there were four children inside the home, but they were not hurt.
Family members rushed to the home once they were notified.

San Antonio Police Bodycam Shows Shooting Of Charles Roundtree
** (Disclaimer: This video content is intended for educational and informational purposes only) **
On July 18, 2019, a Bexar County grand jury voted not to indict San Antonio Police Officer Steve Casanova for the death of Charles Roundtree, Jr., a spokesperson for the Bexar County District Attorney’s Office confirmed. Roundtree, who was 18 at the time, was a bystander who was killed during an officer-involved shooting on October 17, 2018.
According to San Antonio police, Officer Steve Casanova went to investigate an assault claim at 217 Roberts Street when the fatal shooting happened.
Investigators said the officer thought felony weapon suspect Davante Snowden had a gun. Body cam video sent to Eyewitness News shows the officer discharging his gun at Snowden through a door.
Police said the gunfire went through Snowden's backside and into Roundtree's chest. The 18-year-old was killed.
Investigators linked a gun found outside the home to Snowden. In a court appearance, the suspect's attorney said a DNA test ordered by the DA's office revealed his client DNA was not on the weapon.
Davante Snowden was indicted by an earlier grand jury for illegally possessing of a handgun as a result of this incident, the DA’s office said. The case against Snowden is pending trial.
Roundtree's family filed a wrongful death lawsuit against the officer and SAPD. The family regularly demonstrated outside Elizondo Tower to draw attention to the case.
“Our office presented all the evidence regarding this officer-involved shooting to the grand jury, said Bexar County District Attorney Joe D. Gonzales. Although the decision of the grand jury may not be the decision that was hoped for by the family of Charles Roundtree, Jr., we respect the grand jury’s decision and extend our sympathy to the Roundtree family.”

Suspect Arrested In San Antonio Police Officer Murder
A manhunt for a suspect in the fatal shooting of a veteran Texas police detective ended Monday evening with an arrest in the slaying, which was one of several weekend attacks that authorities say targeted law enforcement in multiple states, the AP reports. The San Antonio detective as well as officers in Missouri and Florida were conducting routine tasks Sunday when they became the targets of violence. The detective, identified as Benjamin Marconi, 50, a 20-year veteran of the force, was writing a traffic ticket when he was shot to death in his squad car late Sunday morning outside police headquarters. At a news conference Monday evening, SAPD Chief William McManus said a 31-year-old man, Otis Tyrone McCain, was arrested without incident after the car he was driving was stopped Monday afternoon on an interstate.
McManus said earlier that he doesn't believe the suspect has any relationship to the motorist who was pulled over initially. Surveillance video shows the suspect at San Antonio police headquarters about four hours before Marconi was shot. The suspect asked a desk clerk a question but left before receiving an answer, said McManus, who declined to say what the man asked. I don't know why he was in headquarters. We have some ideas, he said. He also said he believed the uniform was the target.

Breaking News Man arrested in San Antonio bar shooting that left 2 dead, 5 wounded
Man arrested in San Antonio bar shooting that left 2 dead, 5 wounded argues self-defense SAN ANTONIO – A 19-year-old man arrested in a San Antonio shooting that left two people dead and wounded five others said he was acting in self-defense when he opened fire during a concert at a bar.
Kiernan Christopher Williams is expected to face capital murder charges for the Sunday night shooting at Ventura on the Museum Reach portion of the San Antonio River Walk, police said Monday.
As Williams was taken into custody Monday, he promoted his own Instagram account and described himself as “an upcoming artist.”
He told reporters that another person threatened to kill him because Williams had bumped into him at the bar.
Kiernan Christopher Williams is shown in an undated photo provided by the Bexar County, Texas, Sheriff’s Office.
“I regret everything that I did, no lie,” Williams said Police:Two dead, 5 injured after shooting in San Antonio club
Jail records do not list an attorney who could speak on Williams’ behalf.
The medical examiner’s office identified the men killed as Robert Martinez and Alejandro Robles, police said. A 46-year-old woman and four male teens between the ages of 16 and 19 were hurt but are expected to survive their injuries, police said.
Police have said the shooting was “not a random incident” and that at least one of the seven victims knew Williams.
“It’s nothing more complicated than an argument that occurred inside the club with someone pulling out a firearm,” San Antonio Police Chief William McManus said Sunday night Robles, who was killed in the shooting, had gone to Ventura with his wife to support a childhood friend who was performing that night, family members told the San Antonio Express-News. His father, James Huff, said he did not believe his son knew Williams.
A since-deleted Facebook event indicated Sunday night’s concert at the Ventura was “Living the DREAM,” a showcase featuring multiple performers, and the Express-News reported that a flyer listed Williams as one of the scheduled performers. An email to the apparent promoters wasn’t immediately returned.
