San Diego is a major city in California, United States. It is in San Diego County, on the coast of the Pacific Ocean in Southern California, approximately 120 miles (190 km) south of Los Angeles and immediately adjacent to the border with Mexico.
With an estimated population of 1,394,928 as of July 1, 2015, San Diego is the eighth-largest city in the United States and second-largest in California. It is part of the San Diego–Tijuana conurbation, the second-largest transborder agglomeration between the US and a bordering country after Detroit–Windsor, with a population of 4,922,723 people. San Diego has been called the birthplace of California. It is known for its mild year-round climate, natural deep-water harbor, extensive beaches, long association with the United States Navy, and recent emergence as a healthcare and biotechnology development center.
Historically home to the Kumeyaay people, San Diego was the first site visited by Europeans on what is now the West Coast of the United States. Upon landing in San Diego Bay in 1542, Juan Rodríguez Cabrillo claimed the area for Spain, forming the basis for the settlement of Alta California 200 years later. The Presidio and Mission San Diego de Alcalá, founded in 1769, formed the first European settlement in what is now California. In 1821, San Diego became part of the newly independent Mexico, which reformed as the First Mexican Republic two years later. In 1850, California became part of the United States following the Mexican–American War and the admission of California to the union.
The city is the seat of San Diego County and is the economic center of the region as well as the San Diego–Tijuana metropolitan area. San Diego's main economic engines are military and defense-related activities, tourism, international trade, and manufacturing. The presence of the University of California, San Diego (UCSD), with the affiliated UCSD Medical Center, has helped make the area a center of research in biotechnology.
Tourism
Tourism is a major industry owing to the city's climate, beaches, and tourist attractions such as Balboa Park, Belmont amusement park, San Diego Zoo, San Diego Zoo Safari Park, and SeaWorld San Diego. San Diego's Spanish and Mexican heritage is reflected in many historic sites across the city, such as Mission San Diego de Alcala and Old Town San Diego State Historic Park. Also, the local craft brewing industry attracts an increasing number of visitors for beer tours and the annual San Diego Beer Week in November; San Diego has been called America's Craft Beer Capital.
San Diego County hosted more than 32 million visitors in 2012; collectively they spent an estimated $8 billion. The visitor industry provides employment for more than 160,000 people.
San Diego's cruise ship industry used to be the second-largest in California. Numerous cruise lines operate out of San Diego. However, cruise ship business has been in decline since 2008, when the Port hosted over 250 ship calls and more than 900,000 passengers. By 2011 the number of ship calls had fallen to 103 (estimated).
Local sight-seeing cruises are offered in San Diego Bay and Mission Bay, as well as whale-watching cruises to observe the migration of gray whales, peaking in mid-January. Sport fishing is another popular tourist attraction; San Diego is home to Southern California's biggest sport fishing fleet.

Spring Valley swap meet - San Diego Aerial Photography
- San Diego Aerial Photography - Spring Valley swap meet.
Phantom 2 Vision Plus is used to produce this aerial video.
The Spring Valley swap meet is one of the largest in San Diego California. This is the swap meet occurs every Saturday and Sunday. It attracts a huge amount of people and offers many new and used items for sale, including produce and fresh flowers.
This quadcopter helicopter uses GPS to make operating it very easy. They call this Your flying Camera. It takes great HD video as well as still photos. Plus, you can change the angle of the camera in flight, as well as go from video to stills, also while in flight.
You can use an I-phone or I-pod to see what the camera is filming and to set up the perfect shot.
In the GPS mode it will hover in one position without any operator input. Also if the control signal is lost it can automatically return to it's take-off position & land itself!
This is used not only for action sports but in real estate marketing by providing a great aerial viewpoint.
*NOTE -- This video has been edited and therefor you will notice a gap(s) in both the video/audio tracks. A major real estate brokerage firm just came out with an opinion that real estate agent should hold off using aerial drone footage in marketing their properties until the FAA issues final regulations on drone usage.
These new regulations are supposed to be out in about a year. Meanwhile, aerial drone photography for personal or hobby use is okay. Supposedly the FAA issuing these rules to promote safety. But, why is there no regulation for personal use? Is personal use of aerial drones somehow safer than commercial use?
The vast majority of aerial drones that have been used way under 5 pounds and four real estate videos would rarely ever get above 100 feet or so. Yet, until I retired from hang gliding a couple years ago, when I was strapped into the glider and had all my gear on, I would have to say the total weight was about 360 pounds. And yet the FAA does not regulate hang gliding!
So, in the interest of not wanting to get involved in any type of government litigation I have edited this video. I hope that the new regulations will make some common sense and not just be a way for government to raise money or tax individuals for using these models.
*** Until the FAA issues final regulations on drone usage, the commercial use of them is in question. So, it's best to just use them just for your personal hobby interests. We are NOT offering any aerial photography services at this time.

Exploring San Diego in 3 days (featuring San Diego zoo, La Jolla Cove and Balboa Park)
Travel video vlog about our 3 days trip to San Diego in September 2018.
Situated on the coast of the Pacific Ocean in Southern California, San Diego is a popular tourist destination in the United States.
Here is what we did on our 3 days trip to San Diego:
Day 1. On our first day in San Diego, we visited the zoo, which is the most popular attraction in the city. The San Diego zoo is home to more than 650 species and subspecies of animals and a prominent collection of 700,000 exotic plants. We had approximately 6 hours to explore the zoo, and I think it was enough time to see all the animals in the zoo. I think that 6 to 8 hours is the ideal time to spend there to see everything without rushing, so I wouldn't recommend spending less than 6 hours exploring the zoo.
Day 2. This was our beach day (1:51). We started with breakfast at the Pacific beach, then we walked along the coast to other beaches in the area. Then we stopped in La Jolla cove, a famous spot to view sea lions (2:30). There were many sea lions swimming on the beach and there were even people swimming near them, which was interesting to see. We then continued to walk along the beach towards La Jolla main beach, and we spotted another area where we could get a close up of sea lions lying on the rocks near the beach (2:44). They were so many sea lions that everyone was trying to take pictures and selfies with them. It was definitely a great spot to see the sea lions in the wild and to photograph them.
Day 3. We visited the Hillcrest farmers market in the morning (03:05), then we visited the Balboa Park and Botanical Building (3:16). The Balboa Park in San Diego is a nice open space with lush gardens and beautiful vegetation. I honestly was not expecting much before going there but I was blown away by the beauty of it. Near the Park, there were also many museums to explore. We also visited the inside are of the Botanical building located near the park (3:21), which is an open air conservatory with beautiful plants and flowers. Lastly, we visited the japanese garden (3:42), which is also located near the park.
This video was recorded with the following camera:

360 VIEW-SAN DIEGO-CALIFORNIA TOWER-MUSEUM OF MAN-CANNIBALISM EXHIBIT-BALBOA PARK-EP50
We found ourselves back at Balboa Park in San Diego, CA and took a tour of the famous California Tower. This building was constructed for the 1915 Panama-California Exposition. The 360 degree San Diego Skyline view is amazing. All of the upper floors of the tower building were closed in 1935 to the public. After 80 years, it was finally opened in 2015, and people have been enjoying it ever since then.
This upper portion of the tower is scheduled to close AGAIN for some earthquake restraint modifications, so it could be closed during your visit. Balboa Park has so many things to do, that when it closes temporarily, you will still have tons of other things to see.
The tower also houses the Museum of Man which has many fascinating exhibits. The exhibit explores the tragic events and issues that has forced others to resort to cannibalism. Famous cases where people had no other choices to survive are displayed, studied and discussed.
Balboa Park is home to many museums, multiple performing arts venues, and lovely gardens. The Spreckels Organ is the largest outdoor organ in the world and was built in 1914 for the 1915 Panama-California International Exposition. It’s the first-of-its-kind organ designed to “roll out” and play for an outdoor audience. It is constructed with over 5,000 pipes to bring the sound alive. They have free organ concerts every Sunday afternoon!
