San Diego Dive Trip - La Jolla Cove 4/11/2016
Today I took off down to La Jolla Cove for a couple of quick morning dives. The weather was beautiful and, with a 7mm wetsuit, the water felt pretty good, too!
I met my dive guide right across from my hotel at the La Jolla Cove Suites. From there, we geared up and headed down to the cove. Keeping an eye on the seals (which were lining the beach), we eased into the water and made our way out to deeper water.
For dive #1 we went deep in search of sevengill and horn sharks. I was hoping we might even see a leopard or possibly a mako. We managed to locate one sevengill but he sped off about as quick as we saw him. Although our shark hunting skills weren't working for us, we managed to find many lobsters, horn sharks, and a variety of fish including the Garibaldi which is the California State Marine Fish.
On dive #2 we stayed in the shallower end with the seals (which turned out to be a whole lot of fun. We saw guitar fish, lobster, lots of garibaldi, horn sharks, and oh yeah... seals! You have to watch the end of the video where a seal came right up to me. We were pals by the end of the dive, lol.
As always, I must express gratitude for my NWC business which allows me to work from anywhere and make an incredible income. If you're looking for a way to earn residual income in your spare time, check out my website at My contact details are there so you can reach me.
Happy Travels!

Diving / Snorkeling La Jolla Cove (with Sea Lions) San Diego California
Amazing Diving / Snorkeling La Jolla Cove with wild Sea Lions, San Diego California. Freediving the cove.
La Jolla is a hilly, seaside community within the city of San Diego, California, occupying 7 miles (11 km) of curving coastline along the Pacific Ocean within the northern city limits. The population reported in the 2010 census was 46,781.
La Jolla is surrounded on three sides by ocean bluffs and beaches and is located 12 miles north of Downtown San Diego and 40 miles south of Orange County.
La Jolla Cove is a small, picturesque cove and beach that is surrounded by cliffs in La Jolla, San Diego, California. The Cove is protected as part of a marine reserve; underwater it is very rich in marine life, and is popular with snorkelers, swimmers and scuba divers.
The swells that often roll in from the open ocean here can be rather large and strong, and so being in the water at the Cove is not always suitable for people who do not have good water skills. The water temperature is also often a little colder than the average San Diego beach, and the beach has the disadvantage that the dry sand area is very small at high tide. In contrast, during very low tides, a lot of interesting tide pools are revealed at the Cove.
The California sea lion (Zalophus californianus) is a coastal eared seal native to western North America. It is one of six species of sea lion. Its natural habitat ranges from southeast Alaska to central Mexico, including the Gulf of California. Sea lions are sexually dimorphic; males are larger than females, and have a thicker neck, and protruding sagittal crest. They mainly haul-out on sandy or rocky beaches, but they also frequent manmade environments such as marinas and wharves. Sea lions feed on a number of species of fish and squid, and are preyed on by orcas and white sharks.
California sea lions have a polygynous breeding pattern. From May to August, males establish territories and try to attract females with which to mate. Females are free to move in between territories, and are not coerced by males. Mothers nurse their pups in between foraging trips. Sea lions communicate with numerous vocalizations, notably with barks and mother-pup contact calls. Outside their breeding season, sea lions spend much of their time at sea, but they come to shore to molt.
Sea lions are particularly intelligent, can be trained to perform various tasks and display limited fear of humans if accustomed to them. Because of this, California sea lions are a popular choice for public display in zoos, circuses and oceanariums, and are trained by the United States Navy for certain military operations. The International Union for Conservation of Nature (IUCN) lists the species as Least Concern due to its abundance. To protect fish, the US states of Oregon and Washington engage in annual kill quotas of sea lions

The leopard shark (Triakis semifasciata) is a species of houndshark, in the family Triakidae. It is found along the Pacific coast of North America, from the U.S. state of Oregon to Mazatlán in Mexico. Typically measuring 1.2–1.5 m (3.9–4.9 ft) long, this slender-bodied shark is immediately identifiable by the striking pattern of black saddle-like markings and large spots over its back, from which it derives its common name. Large schools of leopard sharks are a common sight in bays and estuaries, swimming over sandy or muddy flats or rock-strewn areas near kelp beds and reefs. They are most common near the coast, in water less than 4 m (13 ft) deep.
Active-swimming predators, groups of leopard sharks often follow the tide onto intertidal mudflats to forage for food, mainly clams, spoon worms, crabs, shrimp, bony fish, and fish eggs. Most leopard sharks tend to remain within a particular area rather than undertaking long movements elsewhere, which has led to genetic divergence between populations of sharks living in different regions. This species is aplacental viviparous, meaning that the young hatch inside the uterus and are nourished by yolk. From March to June, the female gives birth to as many as 37 young after a gestation period of 10–12 months. It is relatively slow-growing and takes many years to mature.
The Leopard Shark is Harmless to humans and caught by commercial and recreational fisheries for food and the aquarium trade. This species is mostly fished in the waters off California where, after a period of population decline in the 1980s, new fishing regulations in the early 1990s reduced harvesting to sustainable levels. The International Union for Conservation of Nature has assessed this species as of Least Concern, while noting that local stocks may easily become overfished because of the shark's slow growth and limited migratory habits.

San Diego Dive Trip - Day 2
Today I hit the waters here in San Diego, California to do a little scuba diving. We went out in search of kelp to dive in but unfortunately El Nino has caused major weather changes in the area and kelp is nowhere to be found. However, we did something even cooler - we dove two wreck dives instead!
The two wreck dives we did were the Yukon and the Ruby. Max depth for these dives was around 95 - 100 feet, which was my deepest dive yet. But won't be for long because I'll be headed to the Blue Hole in Belize very soon! I'm super stoked about that!!
I apologize for not editing more out of the videos, but by the time I got done editing the video quality (forgot my red filter), I didn't feel like spending all night snipping out the boring parts. But feel free to fast-forward as much as you like!
If you're even in San Diego I highly recommend diving with Waterhorse Charters. They were a lot of fun and very safe. Those two things are very important to me.
As always, special thanks to the NWC opportunity for allowing me to live the life I've always dreamed of. It's given me the ability to earn a residual income from anywhere. To learn more, visit

Amazing. The camera doesn't capture the beauty at all. The orange fish are California's State Fish, protected species. Pretty Huh? :) Wish I could have stayed longer.
