Kawaii Eats: Alice in Wonderland Restaurant Shinjuku, Tokyo, Japan (Kawaii Japan Vlog)
I have been wanting to visit the Alice Restaurant since before I moved to Japan. We finally made it here during my last months in Tokyo. Was it worth the hype (my own hype, in my head, that is)? Watch this video to find out.
There are 7 Alice in Wonderland themed restaurants in Japan: Osaka, Nagoya, and 5 in Kyoto: Ginza, Shibuya, Ikebukuro, and 2 Alice Themed Restaurants in Shinjuku.
The one that I visited is called Alice in a Magical Land, and we went during lunchtime. The restaurant was quite empty, and the prices were reasonable (around 10-12 USD per person). Unfortunately we were not able to sit in the topiary booths, but we snuck in at the last minute and took some photos.
If you are interested in finding more info, check out the Alice Restaurant website here:
The website is in Japanese but I used google translate to read it. (via Google Chrome).
What is your favorite theme cafe in Tokyo? Do you think you would visit this Alice Restaurant? Would you wear cosplay to look like Alice when visiting the Alice Restaurant? Leave a comment below.

Today we’re heading to Shinjuku station, the busiest train station in the world, to stop by an amazing teppanyaki restaurant called « Kurumaya Bekkan ». It’s a few minutes by foot from the station’s East Exit and easy to get to. This place is great if you are looking to enjoy some of Japan’s finest dishes.
We decided to share the ¥15,800 course which consists of:
- Sea Bass with a lemony butter sauce
- Fresh Salad with tomatoes
- Lobster prepared in front of us, served with unsalted butter sauce and bell peppers
- Sirloin Wagyu Steak with vegetables, fried garlic
- Fried Garlic Rice
- Lobster Miso Soup
- White chocolate mousse dessert
(the menu changes depending on the season)
The staff were extremely friendly, most of them can speak perfect English, and they took the time to explain the details about all the ingredients of every dish. It was also very interesting to hear from our chef’s experience and travels around the world. 100% recommended.

Shinjuku - an early morning walk - 新宿の朝散歩
Shinjuku the land of neon sign and bright lights! Well, that is at night. In the morning before rush hour starts it looks pretty different. Plenty of people out cleaning up, coming home after a night out and of course, lots of people starting to arrive to work. It looks quite different in the early hours when the sun is out and the lights are off.

Traveleats - Japan Shinjuku
Over out food search in Tokyo we concluded that the best food can be found in the special ward, Shinjuku. With its bright neon light, night life and tall buildings, this is the place where all the tastiest foods can be found. The main highlight of our visit in Shinjuku was Omoide Yokocho(Memory Lane), filled with narrow alleys of tiny restaurants that serve izakaya food. Freshly grilled yakitori with an ice-cold glass of beer, a match made in heaven. On a side note, if you are thinking whether it is worth it to pay almost S$100 to watch the Robot Restaurant show in Tokyo, yes it definitely is! Its a unique and entertaining experience that you cannot find anywhere else.

What you NEED to KNOW when you First Arrive in Japan
This Japan guide reviews what to do in Tokyo when you first arrive at Narita Airport or Haneda Haneda Airport. First time travelers are confused what to do in Tokyo, where to go, how to get from Narita Airport to Tokyo, how to get from Haneda Airport to Tokyo as well as what to eat in Japan. I cover all these questions and much more. These are Japan Travel Guide tips I wish someone told me when I first arrived in Japan or even wish I knew before I came to Japan. This video is perfect for first time travelers who don't know the difference between Narita Airport or Haneda Airport. Also, I share with you how to Get a SIM a card and what useful apps you can download before arriving at the Tokyo Airport in Japan. I even provide some tips on Showers and Tokyo Capsule Hotels at both Tokyo airports.
----- Must Know things when First Arriving in Tokyo Japan -----
0:51 - #1 Difference Between Narita & Haneda Airport
Travelers flying into Tokyo for the first time, have an option to fly into Narita or Haneda Airport.
Narita is the larger of the 2 airports and is generally known to have more international flights while Haneda has more domestic flights. Both have lots of dining and shopping areas, but since Haneda is newly ren, I have to give Haneda the overall edge when it comes to attractions.
The biggest differentiator between both airports is the distance to Tokyo. Narita is about 1 hr away by express train, while Haneda is about 15-30 min train ride away. So it’s a little cheaper transportation-wise from Haneda.

Nishi-Shinjuku
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Nishi-Shinjuku (西新宿?) is a skyscraper business district in Shinjuku, Tokyo, Japan. This region was called Tsunohazu (角筈?) before.
Nishi-Shinjuku was Tokyo's first major foray into building skyscrapers with the first appearing in the 1970s with Keio Plaza Inter-Continental. Kenzo Tange's Tokyo Metropolitan Government Building being the current latest. Tower I was also the tallest building in Japan at this time.
Progress continues in Nishi-Shinjuku and in West Shinjuku which is heading away from the city center and has the site of the proposed Nishi-Shinjuku 3-Chōme Redevelopment with plans for what will be three of the four tallest buildings in Japan.

Most Shady Place in Japan: Kabukicho, Shinjuku | Tokyo's Red Light District
Shinjuku is one of the most famous metropolitan cities in Tokyo. It is also a great place to grab some drinks with friends. However, there are a few areas that can be a little dangerous if you don't know what to look out for. Kabukicho, Shinjuku's Red Light District and home of the Robot Restaurant, is one of those areas. Kabukicho is an area filled with bars, restaurants, host and hostess clubs, as well as love hotels. Kabukicho's name came from the late 40's plan to build kabuki theater in that area, that while was not built, the name stuck. One of the dangerous things about Kabukicho is the kyaku-hiki or pulling in of customers by staff of hostess clubs and certain bars. There are a few clubs and bars that will overcharge for drinks, have hidden fees, or worst case scenario slip drugs into your drinks. While this is a rare occurance, it does happen and can cause some real problems for those that cannot speak Japanese. Kabukicho isn't all bad, but if you do end up there just make sure to be careful.

Shinjuku Gyoen - Japanese Park, Tokyo ᴴᴰ ● 新宿御苑 (Early Autumn 2015)
► Here are some autumn impressions of Shinjuku Gyoen Park in Tokyo. A local park in Shinjuku, an ideal place for a scenic stroll, a picnic, or perhaps both. (unless you're a guy, born with a camera strapped around your neck)
And I write autumn because that's what the calendar says, but with the relatively high temperatures and blue sky we're still enjoying here, it feels more like a good European summer. - Enjoy!
PS. Spot the sausages!
Shinjuku Tokyo, Japan
Shinjuku Tokyo, Japan 2008 (新宿区 Shinjuku-ku, New Lodge), Tokyo nightlife.
Shinjuku is a special ward located in Tokyo Metropolis, Japan. It is a major commercial and administrative centre.
In 1634, during the Edo period, as the outer moat of the Edo Castle was built, a number of temples and shrines moved to the Yotsuya area on the western edge of Shinjuku. In 1698, Naitō-Shinjuku had developed as a new (shin) station (shuku or juku) on the Kōshū Kaidō, one of the major highways of that era. Naitō was the family name of a daimyo whose mansion stood in the area; his land is now a public park, the Shinjuku Gyoen.
In 1920, the town of Naitō-Shinjuku, which comprised large parts of present-day Shinjuku, parts of Nishi-Shinjuku and Kabukichō was integrated into Tokyo City. Shinjuku began to develop into its current form after the Great Kantō earthquake in 1923, since the seismically stable area largely escaped the devastation. Consequently, West Shinjuku is one of the few areas in Tokyo with many skyscrapers.
The Tokyo air raids from May to August 1945 destroyed almost 90% of the buildings in the area in and around Shinjuku Station. The pre-war form of Shinjuku, and the rest of Tokyo, for that matter, was retained after the war because the roads and rails, damaged as they were, remained, and these formed the heart of the Shinjuku in the post-war construction. Only in Kabuki-cho was a grand reconstruction plan put into action.
The present ward was established on March 15, 1947 with the merger of the former wards of Yotsuya, Ushigome, and Yodobashi. It served as part of the athletics 50 km walk and marathon course during the 1964 Summer Olympics.
In 1991, the Tokyo Metropolitan Government moved from the Marunouchi district of Chiyoda to the current building in Shinjuku. (The Tokyo International Forum stands on the former site vacated by the government).

Shinjuku Japan | CHEAP AND CRAZY KARAOKE NIGHT!
So I arrived in Tokyo, Japan and met up with Brendon Van Son and Jodie Dewberry. On our first night, we decided it was a good idea to find a karaoke bar. We found a one that was in Shinjuku and that had unlimited food, beverages ( alcoholic or non alcoholic) for a certain amount of time that you paid for. We found this Karaoke Bar because it was a top reccomnendation online for being the cheapest place with the best value in Shinjuku! We hit the town and ripped it up with some amazing singing.
