????????????Walking around Takeshita-Street (竹下通り), Tokyo【4K】in Harajuku (Shibuya City) in Tokyo, Japan
????????????Walking around Takeshita Street (竹下通り), Tokyo (東京) in Harajuku (原宿) (Shibuya City (渋谷区) in Tokyo, Japan (日本). I was walking around Takeshita Street from JR Harajuku Station (JR原宿駅) Platform to Takeshita Street and Meiji Street (明治通り) and came back to the intersection of Takeshita Street Exit of Harajuku Station (the most famous entrance of Takeshita Street). “Takeshita Street is a pedestrian shopping street lined with fashion boutiques, cafes and restaurants. Stores on Takeshita Street include major chains such as The Body Shop, McDonald's, and 7-Eleven, but most of the businesses are small independent shops that carry an array of styles. The shops on this street are often a bellwether for broader fads, and some are known as antenna shops, which manufacturers seed with prototypes for test-marketing.” from Wikipedia. Takeshita-Street is also very famous for the most crowded pedestrian street in the world. It’s very interesting to walk through once in your life. We spent around 9 days in Tokyo back in April during the cherry blossom season!
We didn't film every single day there, so I've condensed this trip into three days.
I fall in love with Tokyo a little more every time I visit, and this year was no exception. This time round we were travelling on a backpackers budget, so if you need any advice on how to eat and travel cheaply in Tokyo, drop me a message in the comments below!

Shibuya is one of Tokyo's most colorful and busy districts, where people mostly hang out for shopping, dining, and clubbing.
Tokyo Nightlife in Japan: TOP 30 Bars & Clubs
This is my Ultimate Tokyo Nightlife Guide featuring the TOP 30 bars & nightclubs which I carefully selected including places such as Club Camelot, Hollow Point, Fight Club 428, ELE Tokyo, 1 OAK, Buri and of course Ageha, the best nightclub in Japan. Subscribe to my channel ► for weekly videos!
NEW: 7-Day Tokyo Pocket Itinerary
+ tons of Tokyo discount tickets
Tokyo is absolutely massive, with most popular nightlife hot spots located in Shibuya, Roppongi and Shinjuku districts. There are so many bars and nightclubs in Tokyo, you may wonder - Where do I start? Based on age, I would say Shibuya is for the Japanese youth/teenagers, Roppongi for the 25+ crowd and Shinjuku for the 35+ crowd.
Join the Tokyo Pub Crawl for just $24 + 20% discount!

Osaka Nightlife: TOP 20 Bars & Clubs (NEW)
The best possible thing you can do is join the Tokyo Pub Crawl on Friday in Roppongi and explore the nightlife of Shibuya on Saturday, those are the best days for an epic weekend in Tokyo.
If you make new friends in Tokyo, you will eventually be asked to be added to LINE. LINE is 'the' chat app in Japan, so if you do not have DATA on your phone during your stay, make sure to rent a dirt cheap pocket Wifi station at the airport. You can take these pocket Wifi stations all over the country and allow you to connect many of your devices. It even fits in your back pocket. Luckily, there is a 30% discount on Ninja pocket Wifi stations on Voyagin. I personally rent this device everytime when I visit Japan.
30% discount on Ninja Pocket Wifi rental, pickup at Airport
- just $6 USD per day!
(works all over Japan)
Nightlife in Japan is beyond incredible! The most popular nightclubs in Tokyo include Club Camelot in Shibuya, ELE Tokyo in Roppongi and Ageha Nightclub in Koto City. Ageha is the best nightclub in Japan, it will be an all night event since it is quite far from downtown but on a big event night you will be amazed by the gorgeous girls, cool dudes and a fantastic sound system. This mega club stays open until 5am and should be high on your Tokyo party bucket list.
Tokyo has the best quality of food in the world, that's why you have to visit at least one of its many izakaya's to try a bunch of authentic Japanese dishes, like Eihire (grilled stingray), Sakura (raw horse meat) and Yakitori (skewered chicken meat). Visit izakaya's Umiya or Sumire in Shibuya to enjoy these dishes.
After dinner join the Tokyo Pub Crawl on Friday @ 8pm which lasts until 12am (4 hours) during which you will visit 3 bars and 1 epic nightclub. Tokyo Pub Crawl is a great event to meet travelers, locals, expats and fully hosted in English. What many travelers do not realize is that English isn't commonly spoken at bars and nightclubs, thus the pub crawl is a great first start. The Tokyo Pub Crawl is ONLY $20 USD for 4 hours of fun, you truly cannot go wrong.
Studying a bit of Japanese and learning common phrases prior to your arrival will definitely make your nightlife experience in Japan 10x times better. I've made many incredible friends during my 6 visits to Japan and these have been some of my most treasured memories by being able to speak a bit of Japanese.
I truly have seen it all in Tokyo since my first Tokyo Nightlife experience back in 2007 - I've seen many bars and clubs come and go, that's why I decided to compile the best possible list for an epic party weekend in the capital of Japan.
Food in Tokyo is very important to me, I highly recommend you also watch my video: 10 MUST-EAT Foods in Tokyo. Also, do not forget to join the insane Mario Kart Tokyo experience which you can purchase with a 37% discount for Mario Kart Tokyo, speaking of discounts, there is a 34% discount for the Robot Restaurant as well.
34% OFF Robot Restaurant
In conclusion, the Tokyo Nightlife is one of world's finest but often travelers have no idea where to go or where to start. There seems to be a lot of confusion as to where the good parties are in town that's why I decided to create this master Tokyo nightlife list of all the things I learned about Tokyo during my 6x visits in the past decade.

DIGITALHUB.JP's CAPTURING JAPAN collection demonstrates how minimalist vignettes deliver maximum impact. These 15-60-second videos are usable as trailers or previews for a larger production and are perfect for multi-platform social media distribution. The shorts are packaged with every full-scale video we produce, but can also be assembled as a standalone series, e.g., TOKYO TRAIN TUNES./DIGITALHUB.JP
????????????Walking around and Viewing at Shibuya Scramble Square in Tokyo at night【4K】Shibuya City, Japan
????????????Walking around and viewing at Shibuya Scramble Square (渋谷スクランブルスクエア) in Tokyo (東京), Shibuya City (渋谷区), Japan (日本) at night. I was walking around and viewing the new building called Shibuya Scramble Square. Shibuya Scramble Square is a new Tokyo landmark. It’s just opened on November 1st in 2019. It’s located right above JR Shibuya Station (渋谷駅). It’s a high rise building comprising shopping, dining, entertainment facilities, offices and more. It’s the Skyscraper which has a 47th floor and 230 meters in height.
The view during daytime is the link below
A major highlight of this awesome Skyscraper is SHIBUYA SKY (渋谷スカイ). Shibuya Sky definitely provides the best view in Tokyo. Shibuya Sky is the observation deck at the rooftop of Shibuya Scramble Square.

Secret Tokyo - Shibuya's Hidden Lives | 도쿄의비밀 - 시부야의 숨겨진 삶
This is a short film shot on a Canon 7D in and around Shibuya, Tokyo by documentary maker Haryun Kim.
The video was created for Sony Japan artist Izumi Hachiya's latest music concert. At the event the screen rose at 03:54 to reveal the performers Izumi and Midori so the visuals end there (sorry), but I've let the music run until the end of the track.
The video shows scenes in and around the downtown Shibuya area of Tokyo. It's a vista often shot by tourists and filmmakers as typical of the lights and energy of Tokyo, but here Haryun tried to reflect the hidden human stories as well in the backstreets, and capture moments of fragility that reflect Izumi's music.
If you enjoy the video, please let us know in the comments and if possible show your appreciation to Izumi's beautiful music and Haryun's video by liking or subscribing. Thank you!
You can watch Haryun's 2014 Al Jazeera International documentary Chinese Lessons here:
