Recorded 9th July 2017. Video is intended to give an insight into this elevator 'experience' for potential holiday-makers booking this hotel in the future, as we could find NOTHING on the internet prior to our booking this Holiday; and a lot of people were querying what the lift was like?? Well here it is....
SORRENTO, ITALY-Gateway to the Amalfi Coast and Capri
While Sorrento is a great home base for day trips to the Amalfi Coast and Capri, it's a beautiful, quaint city/town in its own right. You get amazing views of the Bay of Naples from high above and the sunsets are awesome. Sorrento is a great town to just walk around and explore the various restaurants and shops and to people watch. And yes, it's easy to catch the ferry to Capri and to take a day trip to see the beautiful Amalfi Coast. All in all, definitely worth a visit here.

There's a pretty little park just outside where you get off the lift and it looks out on the bay ... Beautiful sweeping panoramic views!
Capri and the chairlift ride
A short boat trip from Sorrento, in Italy, brings you to the small island of Capri. After docking at the marina you can take the funicular railway up to the main town area and enjoy walking through the narrow streets and passageways. A short bus trip from there will take you to Piazza Vittoria, where you can embark on the famous 'Seggiovia di Monte Solaro', or chairlift to the summit of Mount Solaro. At the summit is a large viewing area with restaurant and spectacular views.

This was my fifth time in Sorrento. Name of the hotel where I stayed was Nice.

One of Sorrento's marina accessible by steps, elevator and car. Get the perfect view from behind the flags on Piazza Tasso and then take the stairway down. You can take the Lift (elevator) back up for 1 euro. Parking is limited at the marina and the parking garage you see is for hotel parking only.
