Great South West Walk on the South West Coast Path
The South West Coast Path is one of England and Wales' National Trails - and it's the longest at 1,041 Km or 630 miles. With the Path celebrates its 40th anniversary with the Great South West Walk - a sponsored relay walk event in April and May.
Walks Around Britain's Andrew White treks along the South West Coast Path and discovers more about the area from Peter Maxted and Julian Powis from the Cornwall AONB - and about the Great South West Walk event from Steve Church - the secretary of the South West Coast Path Association.

Lynton Walks, Exmoor National Park Walks, South West Coast Path Walks, North Devon Walks, England UK
Lynton Walks was about 5.5 miles in distance via the Valley Of The Rocks in Exmoor National Park. The terrain of the route included a well-surfaced coast path, woodland tracks and quiet lanes. The walking was easy on undulating ground with gentle to moderate slopes. Route finding was easy with obvious paths, good waymarking and good landmarks. Part of the route could be muddy and waterlogged after rain. There were no stiles to negotiate.

Dorset Devon’s beautiful coastline a journey along the Jurassic Coast World Heritage Site through rich vegetation, over wild, crumbling cliffs. breathtaking views of the limestone arch of Durdle Door, and as far back as beautiful horseshoe bay of Lulworth Cove. the beautiful Osmington Mills: this area of Dorset was visited by the great landscape painter John Constable, who actually stayed in Osmington during his honeymoon.
Portland harbour: this is said to be one of the largest man-made harbours in the world. The harbour is very sheltered and therefore an ideal home for the National Sailing Centre and a natural choice for the venue for the sailing in the Olympics of 2012
with spectacular views across to Weymouth bay. The Isle of Portland is a large mass of limestone which is linked to the mainland by the shingle ridge of Chesil Beach

The South West Coast Path Is A 630 + Mile Hike Around The South West Of England On A Rugged Coastal Trail From Minehead In Somerset To South Haven Point In Dorset.
In 2018 I Hiked 300 + Miles Of It From Minehead To Penzance And This Year I Returned To Hike Another 200 + Miles Of It.

South West Coast Path
The South West Coast Path National Trail - 630 miles of superb coastal walking. From Minehead on the edge of the Exmoor National Park to the shores of Poole Harbour in Dorset, I walk this short, about 5 miles, but very beautiful section from Golden Cap to West Bay in September 2007.

Morte Point, Mortehoe Walks was about 4.75 miles in distance on the South West Coast Path. The terrain of the route was a combination of quiet roads and a drive; woodland, rocky coastal and heathland paths. The walking was on undulating ground with a number of sections of steep ascent and descent which made this walk quite demanding. Route finding was easy with obvious paths, good waymarking and good landmarks. There were no stiles to negotiate.

South West Coastal Path - West Bay to Golden Cap - Walking and Hiking in England - 4k and HD Video
In May Bank holiday this year Mel and I did our first walk on the South West Coastal path.
Parking in West Bay we made our way down the coast through Eype and Seatown to Golden Cap. It was a gorgous day and we had a lot of fun, sillinous with some spectaculur views.
The trail has been around since 1885 and has remained popular for tourists far and wide.

Hiking the 870-mile Wales Coast Path in the UK
Tucked away on the western edge of Great Britain, a rugged and mysterious country rises dramatically out of the Irish Sea: Wales.

The Wales Coast Path offers hikers an opportunity to experience the country’s adventurous side…a side which doesn’t always get the recognition it should.
The Wales Coast Path, which is wonderful in and of itself, allows travellers to experience a series of additional adventures. I literally dove right into my adventures in Wales, trying my hand at the sport of coasteering for the first time, as well as sea kayaking through “The Bitches” – a spectacular spot off the coast where the tides flow back and forth over toothy rocks forming whitewater rapids.
My time in Wales is one I won’t soon forget, and I’m sure you’ll understand why after watching this episode of Trackin’ Dirt!
