THOUSANDS TURN TOWN RED IN ANNUAL TOMATINA FESTIVAL
(11 Jun 2012) Fifteen tons of ripe tomatoes and almost 20-thousand people ready to have fun were the two main ingredients in the 6th tomatina or tomato fight festival in Colombia.
The huge vegetable fight took place on Sunday in Sutamarchan.
The festival recognises the hard work of the farmers of this municipality, one of the largest tomato producing towns in Colombia.
Six years ago the mayor of Sutamarchan, 125 kilometres south of Bogota, was inspired by the famous tomatina of the Spanish town of Bunol and decided to hold a similar event.
First, children had their own tomato fight, but 15 minutes later the large tomato fight, only for adults, begins.
For over 2 hours, locals and tourists smashed each other with tomatoes while dancing to music blasting from speakers.
I think it was great, I came here for vacation and I loved it and I hope to come back every year, said tourist, Alex Seasion.
The many tons of tomatoes used in the fight were all rejects, that were not able to be sold on the open market.

Va oferim legume gustoase si sanatoase, condimente, preparate din legumele noastre si alimente testate de noi sau de cei dragi noua. Va mai oferim calitate superioara fata de produsele bio (da, se poate!), si o experienta a clientului remarcabila. Livrarile sunt efectuate direct la usa clientului, in puncte de distributie stabilite sau prin curier rapid.
Anul acesta am plantat si ingrijim legume mai mult decat ecologice, bio sau organice, ingrijim tomate, vinete , varza kale, castraveti, ardei, mangold, leustean, fasole, coriandru, busuioc, cimbru, dovlecei, mure, si nu numai, asa cum ni le-a lasat Dumnezeu, protejand sanatatea noastra si a naturii. Le ingrijim cu macerat de urzici, solutie bordeleza, macerat de coada calului, ceapa si usturoi, macerat de ardei iute etc.
Ambalajele si materialele folosite atat in productia legumelor cat si la livrare, sunt materiale bio-degradabile, care nu afecteaza nici ele negativ mediul sau sanatatea.
Va asteptam cu drag sa ne vizitati si sa ne cunoastem mai bine!
