White Church - Darling(Marina/002)
White Church project is an online collaboration project of Patrick Persijn and David van der Velde with different vocalists.
The song is in memory of one of composers girlfriend, Marina Alexandrivna Marchenko, whom he lost and lived together with in Athens, Greece.
Both loved to cosplay and among the cosplay was 002, since she always called him Darling.
All rights registrated and reserved under name of all two composers.

Σε μία από τις πιο όμορφες παραλίες της Αττικής θα πάμε βόλτα σήμερα, στην περιοχή της Αγίας Μαρίνας του Σαρωνικού, όπου βρίσκεται η Αλθέα. Δύο γραφικότατες ακρογιαλιές, κάτω από το δρόμο, αλλά χωρίς οπτική επαφή με αυτόν, σε πολύ όμορφο περιβάλλον και με ένα μικρό νησάκι απέναντι, προσβάσιμο κολυμπώντας ή με τα πόδια και που έχει κι αυτό τις δικές του μικρές παραλίες, μάλλον ατομικές ή το πολύ για 2!! Αν και αποτελει αγαπημένο μας προορισμό για το καλοκαίρι, εμείς θα την απολαύσουμε off season με λίγο κυματάκι, ανθισμένη και χωρίς καθόλου κόσμο! Βόλτα στις ομορφιές της Αττικής λοιπόν!

The icon is considered the most important object of worship in the Orthodox church. The faithful would turn to the icons to ask for any help they wanted.

The icon had already appeared during Christ's era. The first icon is considered as the depiction of the Virgin Mary and was drawn by the Apostle Luke. Following that, we have no testimony, no portable icon from that period has been preserved. The first icons that appeared and that have survived from the Byzantine period are the ones that are at the monastery of Sinai, St. Catherine's, which are from the 6th century and they're made using the 'encaustic technique', a technique that has not been seen since, that has not appeared since.

The honour is not conveyed to the icon as an object, but to the image which it depicts. So the icon helps the faithful to concentrate his gaze on what he sees and to pray better for what he feels, and to request what he really needs from God.

We consider that God is very close to us. God is not something that is distant from us. So by bringing and placing an icon in our home, this particular placement gives us the sense and the image of God being near us, of each saint being near us.

Byzantine art is very austere. It's nearly ascetic. The artists were monks. As a result, they did not give particular colours or life to the icons. There was that element of being monastic, ascetic, priestly. They wanted the priestly image of the saint to come through.
