California Wine from Steinbeck Vineyards and Winery great Paso Wine
The Union Road Wine Trail includes Steinbeck Vineyards and Winery, it is an adventure for our seven generation Paso Robles family.
We're grape growers, in fact 99% of our fruit is sold to large Paso Robles wineries. Just 1% of the fruit grown on Steinbeck Vineyards is used as Steve crafts our beautiful wines.
Cabernet Sauvignon, Petite Sirah, Viognier and Zinfandel are the varietals we've chosen to craft into 1,000 cases of premium wine. We blend these variteals into THE CRASH, known as Steinbeck in a glass. Our second blend is Steve's choice of our top three barrels. It's named VOICE because it is the voice of our vineyard and a stunning expression of our Steinbeck Story. The 2008 VOICE is a blend of Cabernet and Petite Sirah.
Our winemaker, Steve Glossner, has an amazing history in Paso Robles and we are thrilled he works with us to help us continue our legacy. His winemaking style brings the varietal characteristics through with an elegant finish that speaks Paso all the way.
This was a crash site of a Martin B-26 Marauder was a World War II twin-engine medium bomber built by the Glenn L. Martin Company. First used in the Pacific Theater in early 1942, it was also used in the Mediterranean Theater and in Western Europe.
After entering service with the U.S. Army, the aircraft received the reputation of a Widowmaker due to the early models' high rate of accidents during takeoff and landings. The Marauder had to be flown by exact airspeeds, particularly on final approach and when one engine was out. The 150 mph (241 km/h) speed on short final was intimidating to pilots who were used to much slower speeds, and whenever they slowed down below what the manual stated, the aircraft would stall and crash.
The B-26 became a safer aircraft once crews were re-trained and after aerodynamics modifications (increase of wing span and incidence, to give better take off performance, and a larger fin and rudder) After aerodynamic and design changes, the aircraft distinguished itself as the chief bombardment weapon on the Western Front according to a United States Army Air Forces dispatch from 1946. The Marauder ended World War II with the lowest loss rate of any USAAF bomber.

Lot 137 2007 Paso Robles Syrah
Vintage: 2007
Grape: 93% Syrah, 5% Petite Sirah, 2% Mourvedre
Alcohol by volume: 14.9%
Production: 1,392 cases
Release date: April 9, 2010
Taste: Dark, scarlet center with a violet rim. The appearance of this wine shows brilliant clarity. Red fruits, huckleberry, and bacon are immediately noticeable out of the glass. On the palate, this wine displays a rich mid-palate of smoked meats and bramble fruits, with a spiced chocolate finish. Built upon a firm tannic structure and marvelous oak, this wine will continue to show more layers and offer more complexity as it ages.
Cameron Confidential: Paso Robles, due to the greatest extremes between hot days and cool nights of any region in the state, has established its reputation as one of the best places to grow Syrah in California. This wine was grown right off the west side of 101 in a little cool pocket in Paso Robles. From a $30-a-bottle program, this gem shows what Paso Robles can really do with the Syrah grape.

Greenfield is located in the Salinas Valley, 33 miles (53 km) southeast of Salinas, at an elevation of 289 feet. The city was the fastest growing in the county during the 2000’s, the population was 12,583 in 2000, increasing to 16,330 in the 2010 census. Its most well-known public event is the annual Harvest Festival.
Greenfield is a member of the Association of Monterey Bay Area Governments. The city of Greenfield is centered in one of the most productive agricultural areas in the world. 80% of the lettuce grown in the United States is grown in the Salinas Valley. The area has often been coined as the Salad Bowl of the World.
Over $2 billion (US) worth of fruits and vegetables are produced and shipped annually across the U.S. and abroad. As a result many major vegetable producers are headquartered in the nearby city of Salinas.
Local tourism is increasing as more people are attracted to the area, which is also known as the center of Steinbeck Country because of famed author John Steinbeck. The area is also known as a premier wine grape growing region due to the rich soil and desirable climate. Vineyards, wineries and wine tasting rooms continue to expand throughout the region.
Another major tourist attraction is the newest U.S. National Park, Pinnacles National Park.
It is described as “America's newest National Park, the possibilities for discovery are limitless! Climbing and hiking among the breathtaking spires and rock formations that gave Pinnacles its name is only the beginning of what the park has to offer. Come seek out the California Condor in the high peaks, explore the rare chaparral vegetation and carpets of wildflowers, or just picnic at the visitor center.”
Greenfield, located in Monterey County, is in the heart of California’s Salinas Valley, approximately 135 miles south of San Francisco, 95 miles south of San Jose and 60 miles north of Paso Robles.
Greenfield traces its roots to 1905 and the creation of Clark Colony Water Company, which built a network of irrigation canals and filled them with water from the nearby Arroyo Saco River. A small town was included in the organizers’ plans, and thus was born Greenfield, aptly named in light of the fertile farmland which surrounds it. The city was incorporated in 1947.
At 289 feet above sea level, Greenfield and its residents enjoy moderate temperatures throughout the year, including mild winters and summers that are warm and dry.
