CLEVELAND (October 15, 2019) —Gravitas Ventures, a Red Arrow Studios company, has acquired Worldwide rights to The Rainbow, directed by Zak Knutson. The documentary features interviews with rock and roll legends, Ozzy Osbourne, Slash, Gene Simmons, Lita Ford, and the late Lemmy Kilmister. The documentary will be available on demand October 29th.
The Rainbow explores the vast history of Hollywood’s famed Rainbow Bar & Grill and Whisky A Go-Go on the Sunset Strip. Both iconic venues were founded by the late Mario Maglieri. The Rainbow, which opened in 1972, is filled with rich rock and roll history. Mario’s Italian heritage inspired the delicious food that is served there, especially the pizza, which is known as the best in the city.
Truly a lover of music and the arts, Mario helped hundreds of artists get their start in Los Angeles. Known as the King of the Sunset Strip, hopefuls from all over the world came to the The Rainbow with the desire of being discovered. He frequently came across talented musicians who went on to become platinum sellers. Their pictures line the walls of The Rainbow.
The documentary gives viewers an inside look at the Maglieri family who has owned the venue and dedicated their lives to preserving rock history.
“Telling the story of The Rainbow Bar & Grill, The Whisky A Go Go and the Maglieri family in this film has been a great honor and one that truly represents the history of rock n’ roll in America.” says producer Matthew Perniciaro of Bow and Arrow Entertainment. Perniciaro and Michael Sherman of Bow and Arrow produced the film, with Todd Singerman, Erik Kritzer of Link Entertainment, Mikeal Maglieri and Mike Maglieri Jr. serving as executive producers.
“We are excited to release The Rainbow documentary as it is a true testament to rock and roll history. The iconic Rainbow Bar and Grill has been the home to many legends over the years and this is a must-see documentary for any music and sunset strip lover,” said Nolan Gallagher, Founder and CEO of Gravitas Ventures.
Gallagher negotiated the deal with Matt Perniciaro of Bow & Arrow Entertainment.

Harry returns home to his wife and farm after drifting with his friend Arch and has to make a difficult decision regarding his loyalties.
Director: Peter Fonda
Writer: Alan Sharp
Stars: Peter Fonda, Warren Oates, Verna Bloom
Country: USA
Language: English
The Hired Hand is a 1971 American western film directed by Peter Fonda, with a screenplay by Alan Sharp. The film stars Fonda, Warren Oates, and Verna Bloom. The cinematography was by Vilmos Zsigmond. Bruce Langhorne provided the moody film score. The story is about a man returning to his abandoned wife after seven years of drifting from job to job throughout the Southwestern United States. The embittered woman will only let him stay if he agrees to move in as a hired hand.
Upon release, the film received a mixed critical response and was a financial failure. In 1973, the film was shown on NBC-TV in an expanded version, but soon drifted into obscurity. In 2001, a fully restored version was shown at various film festivals, gaining strong critical praise, and it was released by the Sundance Channel on DVD. It is now considered a classic Western of the period.

PLOT (Wikipedia): Harry Collings (Fonda) and Arch Harris (Oates) are two saddle tramps who have grown weary after seven years of wandering through the American Southwest. Along with a younger companion, Dan Griffen (Robert Pratt), they stop off in Del Norte, a ramshackle town in the middle of nowhere, which is run by the corrupt McVey (Severn Darden). Harris and Griffen discuss traveling to California to look for work when Collings abruptly informs them he has decided to return to the wife he left years before. Griffen temporarily leaves the two in a bar and goes to buy supplies. Some town thugs shoot him to death out of pure meanness. Collings and Harris escape, but they return that night. Collings shoots McVey in the feet, crippling him.
After riding hundreds of miles back to his old house, Collings finds a cold welcome from his wife Hannah (Bloom). In order to be allowed to stay, he offers his services simply as a “hired hand”. Hannah agrees and quickly puts him to work. Gradually, the distrust and unease caused by years of estrangement slip away, and the two begin to become close again. For the first time, Collings feels willing to settle down, but Harris leaves, wanting 'to see the ocean'.
McVey and his troupe of hooligans interrupt his life. Learning that they have kidnapped Harris, Collings leaves Hannah again, this time to save his friend. In a subsequent brutal shootout with McVey's gang, all of the villains are killed and Collings is fatally wounded. Harris rides alone to Hannah's house.

Malibu (/ˈmælɪbuː/) is a beach city in western Los Angeles County, California, situated about 30 miles (48 km) west of Downtown Los Angeles. Known for its Mediterranean climate, a 21-mile (34 km) strip of the Malibu coast incorporated in 1991 into the City of Malibu. The area is known for being the home of Hollywood movie stars, people in the entertainment industry, and other affluent residents. Most Malibu residents live within a few hundred yards of Pacific Coast Highway (State Route 1), which traverses the city, with some residents living up to a mile away from the beach up narrow canyons. As of the 2010 census, the city population was 12,645.
Signs around the city proclaim 21 miles of scenic beauty, referring to the incorporated city limits. The city updated the signs in 2017 from the historical 27-mile (43 km) length of the Malibu coast spanning from Tuna Canyon on the southeast to Point Mugu in Ventura County on the northwest.[12] For many residents of the unincorporated canyon areas, Malibu has the closest commercial centers and they are included in the Malibu zip codes. The city is bounded by Topanga on the east, the Santa Monica Mountains (Agoura Hills, Calabasas, and Woodland Hills) to the north, the Pacific Ocean to the south, and Solromar in Ventura County to the west.
Nicknamed the 'Bu by surfers and locals,[1][2][3] beaches along the Malibu coast include Surfrider Beach, Zuma Beach, Malibu Beach, Topanga Beach, Point Dume Beach, County Line, and Dan Blocker Beach. State parks and beaches on the Malibu coast include Malibu Creek State Park, Leo Carrillo State Beach and Park,[13] Point Mugu State Park,[14] and Robert H. Meyer Memorial State Beach,[15] with individual beaches: El Pescador, La Piedra and El Matador. The many parks within the Santa Monica Mountains National Recreation Area lie along the ridges above the city along with local parks that include Malibu Bluffs Park[16] (formerly Malibu Bluffs State Park), Trancas Canyon Park, Las Flores Creek Park, and Legacy Park.[17]
Malibu is located at 34°1′50″N 118°46′43″W (34.030450, −118.778612).[49] Its City Hall building is located at 23825 Stuart Ranch Road (34°02′21″N 118°41′35″W). The eastern end of the city borders the Topanga CDP, which separates it from the city of Los Angeles.
According to the United States Census Bureau, the city has a total area of 19.8 square miles (51 km2), over 99% of it land.
Malibu's dry brush and steep clay slopes make it prone to fires, floods, and mudslides. Poor grading practices and over-irrigation or leaking pipes exacerbate the tendency for landslides.[citation needed]
Carbon Beach, Surfrider Beach, Westward Beach, Escondido Beach, Paradise Cove, Point Dume, Pirates Cove, Zuma Beach, Trancas and Encinal Bluffs are places along the coast in Malibu. Point Dume forms the northern end of the Santa Monica Bay, and Point Dume Headlands Park affords a vista stretching to the Palos Verdes Peninsula and Santa Catalina Island. Directly below the park, on the western side of the point, is Pirates Cove, named for rum-runners during Prohibition who liked the secluded beach for offloading their cargo.[citation needed] Because of its relative seclusion, Pirate's Cove was previously used as a nude beach, but since nudity is now illegal on all beaches in Los Angeles County, nude sunbathers are subject to fines and/or arrest. On the eastern side of the point is Little Dume, a surf spot which is accessible only by an unmarked trail below Wildlife Drive which has a locked gate.[citation needed] Surfers often paddle out from Paradise Cove to the area when the waves are breaking.
Like all California beaches, Malibu beaches are technically public land below the mean high tide line. Many large public beaches (Zuma Beach, Surfrider Beach) are easily accessible, but such access is sometimes limited for some of the smaller and more remote beaches. Some Malibu beaches are private, such as Paradise Cove, which charges an entrance fee to keep the crowds at bay.[50] Although access to most all Malibu beaches can be obtained after a bit of a walk, the issue of expanded public access is continuously addressed and debated by the city.

USA SUNDANCE OPENER REDFORD (Redford opens Sundance)
Movie lovers and festival goers walked in the sunny streets of Park City, Utah, during the opening day of the Sundance Film Festival on Thursday (January 16).
The annual Sundance Film Festival has become a launch pad for low-budget films and unknown stars in films that need investors.
We're here for Sundance, said Nathan Gjerstad, a Western Kentucky University student. We're big into independent filmmaking at Western Kentucky so we're here to check out the independent film market in the U.S.
A leading man in the 1970s and 1980s, Redford created the annual festival in 1978 to give an outlet to independent film making and creativity brewing outside of the big studios.
Redford may have been one of the noteworthy exclusions in Thursday's (January 16) Oscar nominations, but the actor-director said at his annual press conference that he did not want the fact that he had not received an Academy Award nomination for his role in All is Lost to detract from the festival.
Would it have been wonderful to be nominated? Of course, said the 77-year-old Redford, who has won two Oscars. Neither was for acting. But I'm not disturbed or upset by it because of what I just said, it is a business and we couldn't conform to that. I was so happy to be able to do this film because it was independent. It stood the chance of having a wider distribution had they stepped up. So that's what's on my mind, is the chance they gave me and I'm really happy about it and I will stay happy about it. The rest is not my business.
But Redford was upset by a recent article published in the New York Times that suggested Sundance's growing crop of films that are acquired from the festival and receive theatrical releases are not always beneficial to the movie theater business.
Our job and our role is to create a space and a platform to bring new voices and new ways of seeing the world using independent film to this place, Redford said. That's it. We're not interested in the money, that's somebody else's issue.
The opening day of Sundance spotlights four films, one from each of the competition categories, that highlight dominant themes within the festival. Whiplash, an intense drama about a young drummer in the pursuit of perfection in his craft, will represent the U.S. drama competition and ushers in a plethora of movies spanning all of Sundance's competition, premiers and spotlight categories.
In the world drama competition, Lilting, a film by Cambodian-born British filmmaker Hong Khaou, represents another significant theme running through numerous films this year - death and humanity. Other films that use death to explore existential crises include Jamie Marks is Dead, about a boy who dies and returns as a ghost to visit his former classmate, and Life After Beth, in which a young man must deal with his dead girlfriend returning as a zombie.
One notable film exploring the topic of death through comedy is actor-director Zach Braff's Wish I was Here, in which a 35-year-old father suffers an existential crisis after his father dies.
The film has already gained publicity after Braff used crowd-sourced financing platform Kickstarter to fund the film, something that Redford said Sundance reflects as digital platforms become more prevalent in day-to-day life.
The 10-day festival, starting on January 16, showcases the films in competitions and low-key premieres that serve as an antidote to Hollywood's glittering awards season.

----------------------
Robert Redford was once described as one of the ‘most attractive’ men in Hollywood and continues to captivate women with his riveting charm and on-screen charisma. He was once a television-cum-stage actor, but achieved humongous success as an actor in Hollywood with films like ‘The Way We Were’, ‘The Milagro Beanfield War’ and ‘Quiz Show’. He received a number of honors throughout his lifetime and even though he is a business plutocrat and environmentalist today, he continues to have women toadying over him, owing to his great panache. The recipient of the honorable ‘Legion d’Honneur’, Redford is the perfect embodiment of ‘old-meets-new’ and continues to enthrall audiences with his captivating presence. Not only was he an actor, he also branched out in a number of other fields related to cinema, particularly film direction and production. During his prime, he starred in a number of classics including ‘The Sting and Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid’, ‘The Horse Whisperer’ and ‘The Conspirator’. Following these successes, he became a bankable star and the kind of roles he played cemented his position in Hollywood forever. To know all about the childhood, profile career and timeline of this personality, scroll further and keep reading.
---------------------
Childhood & Early Life
Robert Redford was born Charles Robert Redford, Jr., to Martha W. and Charles Robert Redford Sr. in Santa Monica, California.
He is of Scottish-Irish ancestry and during his childhood, his family moved to Van Nuys, California, where he studied at Van Nuys High School. He was never brilliant academically and was interested in arts and sports.
After high school, he enrolled in the University of Colorado and was a member of the Kappa Sigma guild.
He traveled around Europe and later studied painting at Pratt Institute and the American Academy of Dramatic Arts in Brooklyn and New York City respectively.
-----------------
Career
His acting career took off in the 50s and he starred in a number of shows including ‘Perry Mason’, ‘Alfred Hitchcock Presents’, ‘Route 66’, ‘Playhouse 90’, ‘The Twilight Zone’ and many more.
In 1960, he starred as a mentally unsteady man in ‘Breakdown’, one of the episodes of ‘Rescue 8’, a high-adrenaline series. He made his film debut with ‘War Hunt’ in 1962, but he didn’t gain the recognition he expected.
He went back to acting for television shows and was last seen on television in an ABC medical drama series, ‘Breaking Point’ on the 7th of October, 1963.
He soon decided to broaden his horizons and tried his hand at theatre. He was given small roles in ‘Tall Story’, ‘Sunday in New York’ and ‘Barefoot in the Park’.
His all-American good looks, coupled with extraordinary talent, landed him his first major role in the film adaption of ‘Barefoot in the Park’, along with renowned actress, Jane Fonda.
In 1969, he was cast in the western classic, ‘Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid’, which catapulted him to fame and earned him immense recognition. Not pigeonholed in the ‘pretty-boy’ image, he sought more challenging projects and oozed immense sex appeal on-screen in ‘Downhill Racer’ and ‘Tell Them Willie Boy Is Here’, both of which were released in 1969.
He soon became extremely involved in environmental activism and even received death threats for his ‘environment-friendly’ developments in the United States. Undeterred by such trivialities, he persisted with his efforts. At the same time his career thrived with movies like ‘The Way We Were’ and ‘The Sting’ both which released in 1973.
He experimented with more challenging roles and scored another hit at the box-office with his performance in the political drama, ‘All the President’s Men’, in 1976.
