Hello Everyone! Welcome back to Go with Yogi. Today’s I’m gonna talk about transportation from Suwannabhumi airport to the city! Many of you guys and my foreigner friends asked me a lot, Which is the cheap way to go to the city from the airport or which one is okay for a local to go to the airport.
The first one is my favorite way to get the airport, also to go to the city. This is an “Airport Rail Link”, the express train to the city! and you can take the city train, a.k.a. BTS sky train and MRT metro train or subway.
So the Airport Rail link is on the ground floor of the airport, you can follow any sign of Airport Rail link to get the station. You’ll see the blue sign “City Line” and red sign for “Express line” but the express line is closed already, so please go to the city line and choose the station that you’d like to drop off. If you want to take BTS sky train to Sukhumvit area, you can stop at Phayathai station.The last station of the line. Cost is 45 baht.
But if you’d like to take the subway (MRT), you have to shop at the Makkasan Station and then walk to the MRT Petchburi station. cost is 35 baht
The next one is the cheapest way to get the city. If you’d like to explore the city and save your money this way is for you! That is the bus! but first, you have to leave from the airport to get the bus terminal. So you can take the free shuttle bus from the 2 floor at the Exit 5 or the 1-floor exit 3 and 8 and 4 floor at the exit 5. There have 2 lines of buses that gonna take you to the bus terminal, A, and C. They will stop at the bus terminal, then you’ll see many buses and vans there. For the city, they have many lines of a bus to go to the city such as Rama 2, you can take number 558, 554 for Donmueng and 555 for Rangsit. The cost is 34 baht
But for the public vans, you can go to Onnut area where is very close to Sukhumvit area you can take a van to there as well. They will stop at the BTS ON nut. I’m not sure about the cost but it’s around 30 baht but if you want to save more money you can take the shuttle bus line “C” from the bus terminal to the crossroads of Ladkrabang and then take a local bus with the white one, number 1013. and the cost is around 10-18 baht.
Not Only go to the city (Bangkok), you can go to Pattaya, Rayong, Chantaburi, Trat where are to the eastern of Thailand from here. You can check the price and the time schedule from the link. And the last one, that is Taxi. The expensive way but very easy to get the city. And You all know this very well so please keep the Taxi to the last option for this! hehe

Costing an estimated 155 billion Baht ( US$ 5 billion ), the airport has two parallel runways ( 60 m wide, 4,000 m and 3,700 m long ) and two parallel taxiways to accommodate simultaneous departures and arrivals. It has a total of 120 parking bays ( 51 with contact gates and 69 remote gates ), with five of these capable of accommodating the Airbus A380. The main passenger terminal building, with a capacity for handling 76 flight operations per hour, co-locates the international and domestic terminals, though assigning them to different parts of the concourse. In the initial phase of construction, it will be capable of handling 45 million passengers and 3 million tonnes of cargo per year. Above the underground rail link station and in front of the passenger terminal building is a 600-room hotel operated by Accor Group under the Novotel brand. Between the airport hotel and the terminal building are the two 5-storey car parks with a combined capacity for 5,000 cars.
Long-term plans include five runways flanking two main terminals, two satellite buildings and a domestic terminal will have a combined capacity capable of handling more than 150 million passengers and 6.4 million tonnes of cargo a year were settled clearly on the drawing board. The second phase of airport expansion which involves the construction of a satellite building south of the main terminal and a domestic terminal is expected to begin construction early 2012. It has a total of 120 parking bays ( 51 with contact gates and 69 remote gates ), with five of these capable of accommodating the Airbus A380. The main passenger terminal building, with a capacity for handling 76 flight operations per hour, co-locates the international and domestic terminals, though assigning them to different parts of the concourse. In the initial phase of construction, it will be capable of handling 45 million passengers and 3 million tonnes of cargo per year. Above the underground rail link station and in front of the passenger terminal building is a 600-room hotel operated by Accor Group under the Novotel brand. Between the airport hotel and the terminal building are the two 5-storey car parks with a combined capacity for 5,000 cars.

The street food at Bang Phli Yai, Samut Prakan across the street from Tesco Lotus and the Market Village shopping center on thanon Bang Na Trat. Lots of good food and cheap. We had Pad Thai for 35 baht, pretty good portion.
It was the last street food stop before heading to Suvarnabhumi airport the next morning. There are many good restaurants in the Market Village shopping center. Good place to stop for one last dinner in Bangkok. We will come back to this place again. It was only 10 minutes away from Best Western hotel where we stayed. Glad we discovered this place. Staying near by Suvarnabhumi airport won't be boring anymore.
