Tourist in Your Own Town #55 - Theodore Roosevelt Birthplace
Visit the Theodore Roosevelt Birthplace at 28 East 20th Street in Manhattan. Roosevelt was born here in 1858 and lived at this place until he was fifteen when the family moved uptown. The original house was demolished in 1916, but was rebuilt in 1923 by the Woman's Roosevelt Memorial Association.
The new house museum was designed by Theodate Pope Riddle, one of America's earliest female architects. Rooms have been restored to reflect their appearance between 1865 and 1872 and most of the furnishings are from the original house or were provided by Roosevelt family members.

Located at 28 East 20th Street, the National Park Service runs the house museum and offers free guided tours.

Cincy Red Bike celebrates 1 year
CINCINNATI (Sydney Benter) -- It's been one year since the first Red Bike left its dock and it's been smooth sailing ever since. Taft's Ale House hosted a birthday party fit for a couple Queen City favorites Tuesday night. The brewery's namesake, President William Howard Taft, would have been 158 and Cincy Red Bike is celebrating its first year. It wouldn't be a party without favors, so the Ale House crafted a specialty Red Bike beer. Red Bike handed out day passes. Hundreds put the pedal to the pavement for the occasion. We know it's new people because our phones have been ringing off the hook. It's like we just opened because all the people are like, 'How does it work? I don't even understand.' We're walking them through it; they're smiling, seems like they're having a great time, says Jason Barron, Red Bike executive director Patricia Bittner and Andre Bilokur aren't newbies. The couple has ridden the bikes more than anyone else. We live and work downtown, so we do as many trips as possible on Red Bike. We shop, we go to work, we go to meetings, we go out to eat, and it's fun, says Bittner. For me it turns the city into a game of snakes and ladders where you walk a little bit, you see a bike and you go, 'Ohh, I'll take that bike over there,' and then you land over there and then you slide somewhere else, says Bilokur. In the last year more than 14,000 unique users have gone on rides and there have been more than 88,000 rides in all; that's 70 percent more than anticipated. When it launched there were just 30 Red Bike stations--all of them in the City of Cincinnati. There are now 50 stations, including ones in Covington, Newport and Bellevue with a total of 385 bikes stationed throughout the Tri-state. CINCINNATI (WKRC) - A new event celebrating craft breweries is taking place in Cincinnati over three days, beginning Oct. 1. Brewmania will offer tours, tastings, and entertainment.

Each participating brewery will take part in different events.
On Oct. 2, there will be a free concert on Fountain Square. There will be twelve sampling stations, with two flavors each.
