Italian Breakfast in Milan, Italy
Recently we've spent over a month in England and Ireland. For breakfast, on a typical day, we've been eating the likes of eggs, sausages, bacon, and fried potatoes. It's basically been an all-star assortment of savory types of items washed down with tea. Now that we've found ourselves in Milan, Italy it's a whole other story. After consulting with some locals and doing a bit of research online, we've realized Italian breakfast is a sweet affair. Coffee or cappuccino paired with something sweet (pastries, cakes, breads, jams) is what a local would have more often than not. With this in mind we visited a cafe recommended by a friend to sample some sweet Italian breakfast.

Italian Breakfast in Milan, Italy Travel Video Transcript:
Well good morning from Milano, Italia. We are here in Italy. It is our first day, so we have gone in search of the Italian breakfast. Now we weren't entirely sure what an Italian breakfast looks like so we did a bit of research and asked around and apparently it is just a coffee and anything sweet. So that could be pastries, bread with jam, cake or cookies. So we've sat down at a little cafe and we're going to have our first Italian breakfast.
So my beverage of choice today is the cappuccino because it is a very cold day. And why not have some frothy coffee. It's a cold day. When is fifteen degrees considered cold? Look at the way I'm dressed. I'm cold okay?
Ooh, that is nice. Excellent cappuccino. Nice and rich and frothy? Mmmm.
Indeed. Wanna try some?
So this breakfast reminds me a bit of breakfast in France and also in Argentina. A sweet way to start the day and I have to say it is a quite a huge contrast and change from what we were used to in England and Ireland where we were having full savory breakfasts. With eggs and sausages and mushrooms. Lower calories and a lot sweeter.
And this pastry here I've selected, I honestly don't really know what it is. What made me select it was that I saw walnut bits. And hey, I'm a huge fan of walnuts so I don't know what is inside. It looks like it might be apple. Let's find out.
I thought it was going to be prunes. Mmmm.
No, no no. That is like pecan pie. That's pecan filling inside. Let's see the inside. Oh wow!
That is so delicious.
Oh, it's like having pecan pie.
Pie for breakfast. He's a happy boy.
And what do you have over there?
Well, this is the pastry I chose. It is a little twisty one with chocolate chips.
That is really good. It is very buttery and flaky. And you just can't go wrong with chocolate chips this early in the morning. I'm a fan.
So we're going to be here for a week in the Lombardy region and I can't wait to try as much Italian food as possible. It's one of my favorite cuisines.
And last but not least, price point? Well, this delicious breakfast for two came to five Euros and that included two cappuccinos and two pastries. So not an expensive way to start the day.
Yeah, talk about value. Mmmmhhmmm.

Italian Food Review - Eating Local Pasta and Dessert in Matera, Italy
Come join us for an Italian food review as we try eating local pasta and dessert in Matera, Italy at The Cave Sassi Restaurant (La Grotta Nei Sassi Ristorante) serving Cucina Tipica Materana. Located just two minutes away from our airbnb apartment we beat the crowds by arriving as soon as it opened at 12:30 for lunch in Matera. Instead of getting a full course Italian meal we opted for just wine, pastas and desserts. It ended up being a great lunch and great introduction for us to Materana and Basilicata food.

Italian Food Review - Eating Local Pasta and Dessert in Matera, Italy Travel Video Transcript:
Alright guys so it is time for another food video. This time coming to you from Matera, Italy. And yes, check out the views. We are showing them off again because we just can't seem to get tired of them. Yeah, we don't get tired of them that is for sure. It is so amazing.
Um but anyways we're in the region of Basilicata and we found a restaurant that specializes in Materana cuisine (Cucina Tipica Materana). Yeah, and one thing I've learned here in Italy is that you never say you're having Italian food to an Italian. Because the food really varies across the country so it is more about the region you know. Trying regional dishes. So that is what we're going to be doing. One of the most highly recommended restaurants in this city is just like around the corner from our airbnb so we've scouted it out. Two minute walk. Yeah. Haha. Seriously. Yeah. And it just opened a few minutes ago right so we're hoping to be the 1st customers there. 12:30. Let's go eat.
Okay so we are all settled inside the restaurant. This place is called La Grotta Nei Sassi Ristorante (The Cave Sassi Restaurant). And guess what? We're in a cave. We're in a cave. Of course. Like most of the buildings in this town so that is pretty cool. We've ordered our drinks already. We got some sparkling water and we also went to order red wine and then didn't have any. At least not the house red. They have red they just don't have the house red. And I've never seen anyone's face drop so quickly like Sam's did. When they said there is no red of the house wine. He was just like I'm too cheap to order the other stuff. Haha.
So we the other one cost like double so we decided to go for the rose instead.

Day Trip to Sorrento, Italy Travel Guide Video Transcript:
Considered the official start of the Amalfi Coast, the cliff-perched town of Sorrento makes for a quick and easy day trip. We caught the train in Pompei at Villa dei Misteri and took the Circumvesuviana line all the way down the coast. Our plan for the day? To eat and wander around without much of an itinerary.
Since we were visiting just before the holidays, the streets were decked out with all sorts of Christmas decorations. We befriended a few dogs along the way, and then we found a spot to indulge in coffees and pastries.
After walking through the town, we started making our way down to the waterfront, more specifically, to Marina Grande. This harbour is line with pastel-coloured buildings, boats bobbing in the water, and lots of seafood restaurants.
After walking the length of the marina and browsing through menus, we finally settled on a restaurant for lunch: Zi’Ntonio Mare.
Making our way back to town, we also attempted to visit Sorrento Cathedral, but we arrived outside of opening hours so here’s a quick look from the exterior.
From there, we continued down some of Sorrento’s pedestrian-friendly side streets, which were lined with small shops and outdoor produce stalls. Limoncello seemed to be by far the most popular souvenir, so if you’re looking for a taste of the famed lemon liqueur, this is a good place to stock up!
Our last stop of the day were the Cloisters of San Francis, where there was a small art exhibition taking place. These cloisters are also located in small park with great views of the coastline and the Mediterranean Sea, so we enjoyed the views one last time and then it was time to head back.

Florence: when it comes to Renaissance art, there’s probably no better city in the world to soak it all in!
Our time here was spent viewing works by Italian masters both in museums and public spaces, marvelling at the architecture - in particular Florence Cathedral and its massive dome, going in search of the best lookout points, and eating plenty of pizza & gelato sharing the best things to do in Florence on your visit.
We paid 15 Euros for a ticket that gave us access to 5 attractions associated with Florence Cathedral. Giotto’s Campanile, the bell tower stands 84.7 metres with 414 steps.
We made our way over to our next attraction: the Baptistry. Known as both the Florence Baptistry and the Baptistry of Saint John.
We continued to Museo dell’Opera del Duomo, which is a museum dedicated to conserving artworks relating to Florence Cathedral.
It was time to climb the dome of Florence Cathedral. We ate our gelato at Grom and it was delicious.
The Uffizi Gallery is considered one of the best museums in the world focusing on the Italian Renaissance. Most of the art collection you see today was gifted to the city of Florence by Anna Maria Luisa, the last Medici heiress.
From Uffizi Gallery you get some pretty cool views of Ponte Vecchio and the Arno River from a higher vantage point.
We visited in Florence was Piazza della Signoria, an L-shaped square right in the heart of the city. A landmark in this square is Palazzo Vecchio or the Town Hall. And to the right of this building, you have the Loggia dei Lanzi.
Speaking of David, we did find him, over at Galleria dell’Accademia. Michelangelo’s David depicts the Biblical David carved out of a single block of marble.
Ponte Vecchia during the 16th century that one of the Medici ordered for the butcher shops to be replaced with jewellers.
When it comes to sunset in Florence, there are no better views than from Piazzale Michelangelo overlooking the historic center on the other side of the Arno River.
This indoor market is foodie central with the second floor of the market is filled with eateries. Central Market is a great place to pick up ingredients to bring back to your kitchen.
We hope you enjoyed this Florence travel guide and that it gave you ideas of things to do.

Mostar to Kotor Bus Ride | Montenegro Travel Vlog
Join us as we leave Mostar to Kotor by bus in this travel vlog. Although we would have loved to spend more time in Bosnia and Herzegovina our time in the Balkans was winding down and we wanted to visit Montenegro before our trip to Italy. After showing you a short apartment tour of our airbnb in Mostar we head to the bus station to wait for our bus. We're surprised by the fact it is just a large passenger van. We start out only as 4 on the bus but it quickly fills up with passengers coming on and off as we stop off at various locations in Bosnia and Herzegovina. By the time we cross from Bosnia to Montenegro we're nearly empty but instead of going directly to Kotor we're rerouted the long route arriving 3 to 4 hours later than we expected. After dropping off our bags at our airbnb in Kotor we go out for a quick bite of risotto before calling it a night.

Mostar to Kotor Bus Ride | Montenegro Travel Vlog Video Transcript:
Good morning everyone. Hope you're all having a nice Monday. Over here it is time for us to leave. Travel day. Travel day. This week in Mostar just flew by. Like crazy how fast it went. We had so much fun here. Yeah, we loved the city. It has been one of our favorites so far. And there is just so many reasons why we liked it. Locals were friendly accommodating. We had amazing food. Two particular places we liked are what Šadrvan and Tima-Irma . Yes. Yes. We went there many times. Those places are wonderful so it has a very underrated food scene and just like we just felt really good about visiting a place like this because you know during the 90s there was a this place was ravaged by war and there is still many visible signs of that. The community is rebuilding and it just feels really good to be uh a part of that as a tourist visiting. Anyways, let's give you guys an apartment tour before we run out of here.
So where are we going today? So we are continuing onto Montenegro. We're going to Kotor. I don't really know what part of the word you're supposed to stress. We'll figure it out once we get there and we hear how locals call their city. That is where we're going this morning. A new country. Montenegro. Excited for that.
We thought we would share the prices for the tickets. So you guys know. So in the local currency. Actually I just did the conversion so let me open up my phone. In the local currency it was 47 which is the equivalent of 24 Euros and we actually walked to the bus station in Mostar and bought our tickets in person. It is considerably cheaper in person than online. Yes, we were going to book them online and it was 33 Euros instead of the 24 Euros and if we booked them online we were going to have to print them ourselves.
I forgot to tell you the price of our airbnb that we stayed at in Mostar. I'll include a link in the description below to the property. It was normally it would be 29 dollars a night but because we stayed a week we got a discount down to 26 dollars a night. Exactly. We thought that was really good value.
Okay so we are all checked in. We had to dry off because it started pouring rain just as we were reaching the place. Yeah, we are quickly learning that the Balkans in November is uh yeah very much off season. Wet.
How is that? Worth the wait after a long day of travel? So hungry, so glad to finally be here. That was a long day. We're just so both tired so yeah we're going to say goodbye to you guys. Thanks for watching. More from Kotor very soon. Tata.

Michelin Restaurant in Venice, Italy | Trying Pumpkin Dishes! Travel Video Transcript:
It is another very snowy day here in Venice. Today we're going to go for lunch. This place is the only like two minute walk from our house. It specializes in pumpkin & is called Osteria La Zucca. Zucca means pumpkin and most of the dishes are made with pumpkin. It is vegetarian friendly.
We are all settled in the restaurant and we've ordered three different pumpkin dishes to share between Sam and I. So the first one we got is the Saor Di Zucca Radicchio Rosso so that is this one right here that I'm going to be trying. I think it is the vegetarian equivalent of what I had at the other restaurant with the sardines because it has the same name. I can see that it has caramelized onions and the pine nuts but instead of the fish it is pumpkin. It looks kind of like a pumpkin paste.
Appetizer number two. We got the fran de zucca con burro al la salsa ricotta stagionata.
This has pumpkin and butter and some ricotta. When we were first reading this flan to me is a dessert. At least in Spanish it is but apparently this is savory and it has nutmeg they said. Yep. And also a few different spices. It looks really good. It is also dressed with cheese and these it looks like sunflower seeds. And guess who is having that as well? George. You've been trying it. So how is it?
It is delicious. It is so creamy and great pumpkin flavor.
This is really good though. Out of the two this one is my favorite so far.
That is delicious. But it is not sweet though is it? No. It has got a savory creamy texture and I love how there is the has been some cheese sprinkled on top. Also some pumpkin seeds. It is just really really good.
It is also a bit thicker than what I thought when I first looked at it. It has pumpkin seeds.
This one is the Tortino de Pate Zucca Caciotta Di Rocca Pontina.
So never heard of tortino before it kind of looks like a potato. It reminds me of the Spanish tortilla. It is kind of like that with pumpkin.
So let's just dig in. Dig right in and see what this is all about. Nice consistency.
This looks good get a little bit of that pesto right there.
it is dessert time. So we've ordered a piece of chocolate cake. Woah. It looks beautiful. It is nice and thick. Nice big slab of it. I like that there is a little dusting of icing sugar on top and also we have some chocolate sprinkled. And it is beautifully plated too as you'll notice you see berries and you'll see some cream. It looks very festive like Christmas. It does look very festive. This would be a great Holiday Christmas cake for instance. Oh and you can tell that there is nuts in here.
That is really tasty.
Actually this reminds me a lot of a warm brownie. That is how I would describe it with a lot of nuts and chocolate.
In terms of price point it came to 41 Euros. That included the 3 pumpkin dishes, the dessert and we also ended up paying for the water for everyone. The wine that I drank my Dad bought for me and that was 5 Euros and we split it. So basically an extra 2.50 if you wanted to do the math. Yeah. And right now we're just outside of the restaurant. Look it is right on the canal. Yeah. Tada. So in terms of the food yeah the quality was really good.

Breakfast in Hvar, Croatia
Join us as we have breakfast in Hvar, Croatia at BB Club cafe ordering shakshuka, a fully loaded omelette and nutella pancakes with walnuts. Given it was the off-season in Hvar it was tricky to find a place that was open for breakfast. Although the menu didn't have traditional Croatian breakfast items we did enjoy what they served. The price was a bit high but we kind of expected that given we're on a island.

Breakfast in Hvar, Croatia Travel Food Video Transcript:
Good morning guys. We are currently in Hvar, Croatia and today we are searching for breakfast. It is already ten thirty and we're both really hungry so before we do any sightseeing we are going to go eat.
Alright a little bit of an ordeal this morning. At long last we are finally getting breakfast. This was mission impossible basically. So we are visiting Hvar first week of November off-season. Most people have already gone. Because it is cold and whatever so we've been walking around town I would say for almost an hour.
We were thinking of actually just going to a bakery. And doing a do it yourself breakfast at the harbor. That was going to be our plan. We were so close to doing that in fact. Then we found this place. It is called BB Club it is at the very end of the marina and there are some people out here. We're sitting out in the sun. We've just finished placing our order for breakfast. We're going to eat here. It is not going to be a typical Croatian breakfast because we haven't been able to find that whatever it is. This is a very International breakfast so you'll see once it arrives.
How are you feeling now that you have a cup of coffee in front of you. Oh, I was worried we weren't going to find a place that had breakfast so I'm very happy. And I get the regular the cappuccino. It seems to be what I get most of the time. My cappuccino of course. And you got a little cookie. It is shaped like a little horseshoe.
I ordered myself Shakshuka which I seem to have whenever I have the opportunity. So this is a Middle Eastern recipe. I first had it in Israel like 3 or 4 years ago. Anyways if you take a look here it is basically like these eggs cooked in like this iron cast. Is it? Um, with like a tomato based sauce. A cast iron frying pan.
What do you think? Shakshuka. Oh wow. Very flavorful also quite spicy too. I know. It has got a real kick to it. It does have a bit of a burn.
Alright moving on to my main so when they asked what kind of toppings we have I said give me everything. That is the chef's special. Everything. So if I show you in here you can see that there is different kinds of peppers, it looks like there is ham and it looks like there is some kind of a salami, onion, cheese. It is jacked. It is fully loaded. Just the way I like it. The jacked omelette. The jacked omelette.
I'm going to try the pancakes over here. Yeah. They come with nutella, chocolate and also with walnuts.
Nutella for the win right at the end. So after all of that saltiness you need a bit of sweet.
I keep calling these pancakes but they are more like crepes. Yeah. They're quite thin.
We just paid the bill. Sure did. So the breakfast came to 175 Kuna which is 23 Euros so that included 2 cappuccinos and 3 breakfast mains. And yeah, I mean it is not cheap we're paying tourist prices on a touristy island but it sure was good and we were just very appreciative to have actually found a place where we could have breakfast. Somewhere to eat at long last. Yeah, so we feel very satisfied and now we're ready to go explore. So we're going to do just that. Ciao.

The Ingredients:
1 Lb Fettucine Pasta.
4 Tbsp olive oil.
4oz fresh basil leaves.
10oz fresh spinach leaves.
6-8 cloves garlic chopped rough or fine your choice.
2 Tbsp dried rosemary.
2 Tbsp dried thyme.
2 Cups Chicken stock. (You may or may not use all of the stock!)
2 Tbsp red pepper flakes.(Depending on how much heat you like you may or may not want to add more or less red pepper.)
Salt and black pepper to taste.
3 oz Gorgonzola as a topping when dish is plated.
Salt and pepper to taste.
The largest saute pan/skillet you can get.
The Method:
(Cook your pasta to aldente’ drain and put back in pot with about a ladle full of the starch water and some olive oil to coat the pasta and keep it from sticking together and then put on the back burner to stay warm.)
1. Put olive oil in your saute pan/skillet. Heat on med. high until oil is shimmering.
2. Once oil is shimmering put garlic in oil and cook on med. high til garlic softens and browns a bit. Add pinch of salt and pinch of red pepper flakes to the oil and stir
3. Once garlic is soft and brown add spinach first get it coated in the oil and get it to reduce.
4. Now add the basil and make sure it gets coated with oil and get it to reduce. Don’t let leaves burn.
5. Now add 1/2 to 1 cup of chicken stock and raise heat to high to get the stock to boil. Keep mixing the leaves.
6. Reduce heat to med or a bit lower and put lid on skillet/saute for one minute or so. Then take off and spinach and
should now be wilted.
7. Add a pinch of salt and pinch of pepper to taste. We are building layers of flavor.
8. Now add 1 Tbsp of the dried rosemary and dried thyme. Spread it over the greens evenly.
9. Raise heat to medium. Mix everything up in the skillet/saute and make sure the dried herbs get wet.
10. Add a little more of the chicken stock if the the stock in the pan has evaporated from cooking the greens.
11. Now if the greens are wilted to your satisfaction spread them in a circle around the saute leaving the center clear for the pasta.
12. Pour your fettucine into the center of your skillet/saute and turn up the heat to a medium high heat.
13. Add another 1/2 to 1 cup of the chicken stock and bring to a boil. Add pinch of salt and pinch of pepper and mix all ingredients together.
14. Now add the last of your rosemary and thyme and mix all of your ingredients together.
15. Add the last of the chicken stock and raise heat to a boil and then reduce to a medium boil and cook for 2-3 minutes this way to allow the pasta to absorb the liquid. You may want to add another 1 or 2 Tbsp of olive oil into the mix as well. No matter what there will be some liquid left in the pan and that is your sauce. The pasta should be shiny and well covered in liquid. After 2-3 minutes turn heat off and cover pan if you have one and let stand for a minute or two.
16. Plate pasta and greens and add a pinch or two of red pepper flakes and then add your Gorgonzola and your are ready to go! Mangiare Bene! Eat Well!

Hi, this is a video about my Authentic Italian Christmas menu, and I will show you how to make the Tiramisu and a Stuffed Pork Roll as Second Course that I will cook this year for my Christmas Dinner.
This is part 2 of my Christmas menu, and today I will make a super easy Stuffed Pork Rollè for the second course and one of the easiest Italian Desserts, the Tiramisù, I am not making the authentic italian recipe for the tiramisu, I am making instead a super yummy pistachio variant.

In Italy a traditional menù for Christmas day or Christmas Eve is made of at least Four Courses: The starter is usually is preceded by a sharing platter usually full of salami, cheeses, ham, olives and much much more, this is usually used to welcome the guests, accompanied by different kind of drinks.
The main meal will start after this happy hour, usually a traditional Italian menu is made from a super easy but creative starter, a main course (usually a pasta or risotto), a second course (usually meet) and a dessert (plus pandoro, panettone and torrone/nougat/brittle.
In part 1 of my Christmas menu I've showed you how to make Lasagna, with a mouth-watering Sicilian twist, and how I made the courgette (zucchini) rolls and puff pastry for the starter.
The ingredients for the pork rollè and the stuffing are:
(the quantities will vary depending on the size of the fillet)
1 pork fillet, 1 bunch of parsley, sun dried tomatoes, black olives (same quantities of the drained sun dried tomatoes), breadcrumbs, olive oil, salt, pepper, sultanas and cheese (I am using provolone, but cheddar will work perfectly);
Some GREAT ADDITIONS for this recipe are: Fresh mint and garlic.
The ingredients for six people to make the Pistachio Tiramisù are:
Savoiardi/lady fingers/sponge fingers 1 pack, pistachio spread 200gr (7oz), Mascarpone 500gr (17oz/1 lb), 4 eggs, cocoa powder, coffe and sugar to taste.
PRO TIPS: 1- Check if you need to add sugar after you added the pistachios spread to the mascarpone cream. 2- You don't have to use espresso. 3- The tiramisù need to set overnight in the refrigerator.
