Ottawa City Heritage Walk in Lowertown
Ottawa City has many great community-led walks. This short film showcases North Dalhousie street, in Ottawa's historic Lowertown neighbourhood. The Lowertown Community Association Heritage Committee organized the walk, which was offered in both French and English. Two students from the University of Ottawa served as researchers and guides for the tour.
Blue Mountains Grand Canyon, Australia, NSW
Arresting sandstone walls, ever-present waterfalls and abundant native plants line the awesome Grand Canyon track near Blackheath in the Blue Mountains. The historic loop track takes you into the heart of this World Heritage-listed landscape. It's an intimate and adventurous track which walkers have trodden since 1907.
Setting out from Evans lookout, the well-shaded track meanders through luscious native vegetation of ferns and golden wattles, and remains close to Greaves Creek, all of which combine to make this a particularly good walk for the summer months. Shorten the loop by leaving a second car at the Evans Lookout Road entrance or spend the day and stop for lunch at the nearby picnic area before returning to the lookout.
Although there are loads of semi-ledges which make up this challenging walk, you don’t need specialist hiking or abseiling equipment, so comfortable walking shoes are all you’ll need to get out there and explore.
Walking in HYDE PARK - Beautiful Park in SYDNEY City Centre, AUSTRALIA
Walking in Hyde Park. Beautiful Park in Sydney City Centre, Australia.
Hyde Park is a heritage-listed 16.2-hectare (40-acre) urban park located in the central business district of Sydney, in the City of Sydney local government area of New South Wales, Australia, Hyde Park is the oldest public parkland in Australia. Hyde Park is on the eastern fringe of the Sydney city centre and is approximately rectangular in shape, being squared at the southern end and rounded at the northern end. It is bordered on the west by Elizabeth Street, on the east by College Street, on the north by St. James Road and Prince Albert Road and on the south by Liverpool Street.
Hyde Park is broadly rectangular with a rounded northern end. It is bisected east-west by Park Street and ringed by other major city streets (Liverpool and College Streets, Prince Albert Road, St.James' Road, Elizabeth Street) and stands in strong contrast to the closely built-up and intense environment of the city beside it. A climax at each end of the park is provided by the two major monuments of the Archibald Fountain at the northern and most populous end and by the solid bulk of the Anzac Memorial at the southern end. These two monuments are of essential importance to the park's design and character.
The centrepiece of Hyde Park is the Archibald Fountain. The fountain was designed by François-Léon Sicard and bequeathed by J. F. Archibald in 1932 in honour of Australia's contribution to World War I in France.
At the park's southern end is the ANZAC War Memorial behind the Pool of Reflection and the entrances to the Museum railway station. A monument consisting of a 105-millimetre (4.1 in) gun from the German light cruiser SMS Emden stands at Whitlam Square, at the south-eastern, Oxford Street entry of the park. It was built as a memorial to the Australian Imperial Force of World War I. Fund raising for a memorial began on 25 April 1916, the first anniversary of the Australian and New Zealand Army Corps (ANZAC) landing at Anzac Cove for the Battle of Gallipoli. It was opened on 24 November 1934 by His Royal Highness Prince Henry, Duke of Gloucester.
Close to the ANZAC Memorial in the southern end of the park is Yininmadyemi - Thou didst let fall, a public artwork that acknowledges the service of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander men and women in the Australian Defence Force. The artwork by Indigenous Australian artist Tony Albert was unveiled on 31 March 2015 and was commissioned by the City of Sydney as part of its Eora Journey public art initiative.
The western, or Elizabeth Street side, at the Bathurst Street entrance of the park sits beside the 22-metre (72 ft) Obelisk decorated with Egyptian features. It was erected in 1857 and unveiled by the then Mayor, George Thornton.
In the northeastern sector, of the southern half of the park, there is a monument to Captain James Cook, erected to commemorate Cook's discovery of the east coast of Australia in 1770. The sculptor was Thomas Woolner (17 December 1825 – 7 October 1892) and the statue was cast by Cox & Sons, at its Thames Ditton Foundry, Surrey, England.

Blue Mountains Walks: The Colosseum, Medlow Bath NSW Australia
PLEASE SUBSCRIBE!
This is another of the old Medlow Bath tracks built 100+ years ago. In places the track could be said to be a little dangerous, but negotiable with care.
The goal is to reach the Colosseum itself, a large overhang with a drippy waterfall in front of it, but the steps and ladders on the way down are the fun part.

Wynyard Station Wooden OTIS Escalators York Street Entrance Sydney NSW Australia
A tribute to the quadruple wooden escalators at the York Street entrance to Wynyard Railway Station in Sydney New South Wales Australia. Wooden escalators are becoming increasingly rare in the world and it has been rumoured that these will be replaced in the near future despite their heritage listing. Aside from parts replacement and other maintenance they have been in service since the station opened in 1932 in conjunction with the Sydney Harbour Bridge.

A Walk Along the Esplanade, Lakes Entrance
I booked this holiday at the Lakes Entrance even before I booked and left for my second Europe river cruise last November. It was too late to cancel when I learned that my brother Art Blanco and Ric Asuncion were not coming with us to drive us around the area and my sister Daisy wasn't coming too.
In a brief talk over the phone, my other sister Cynthia and my colleague and friend Elena Tenedora agreed to take the NSW train instead from Sydney to Melbourne, then the V-line to Sale station and coach to Lakes Entrance. Whoa! What a long train ride and coach ride, too!
Well, it was worth it. Yes, we stayed at the Esplanade Resort and Spa at Lakes Entrance, but we saw heaps more. Thank God!!!!
In this video, I recorded the dance, discussion, deliberation and imminent divorce (lo!!!) of a pair of swan, plus the boats that interest me, the flowers and trees and of course the sea or lake birds I always loved to watch during our week-long holiday in the Gippsland Lakes.
I also included the two restaurants we did not have a chance to dine at---because of our short stay (or should I say simply because we prefer to cook our meals and save (lol!) for our next holiday?
I am pleased to have finished this short video memoir to relax before I go to sleep---after a hard day's work.
For the record, for the past two days, I have been trying to clean the extension of my house after I gave away one of the single beds I had there. I was shocked to realise I haven't cleaned the tiled floor of my extension that I felt like Cinderella staying up for two nights now cleaning the stubborn dirt on the floor... My head has been pounding in pain, but could not called in the surgery of my local doctor whom I came across at Westfield early this morning today and amused me. Why? because he waved to me for the first time--in like manner as I do each time when I meet him at Westfield.
Anyway, I had far more important thing to do today than see him for my headache. I was booked to do three interstate telephone interpreting before and after midday, so I really had to hurry home.
I only went out of my house because I really needed to do food shopping. All I have in my pantry are cereals and tin food.
As I continued cleaning the floor of the extension of my house, I realised it could be the chemical I was using that could be causing my headache, so I stopped---did a third series of selfies (for practise since I bought a selfie stick) to document I am in the process of thoroughly cleaning, rather than spot cleaning, the extension of my house.
I was having a hunch that I must not have cleaned it since my mother passed as I was sweeping away buckets of dust and also found heaps of daddy long legs (oh my! thank God there wasn't any redback!!!!).
Anyway, I believe that in addition to this walk along the Esplanade, my visit of the Nyemirilang Heritage Park during this holiday must have inspired me to appreciate once more the house God has given to me---even if I don't have an extensive land area as the Heritage Park.
I wondered if the black swans were sort of telling me this message even as I stood at the edge and almost fell off the waters (lol!!!) trying to take a video of their life's drama.
IS THIS BETTER THAN THE GREAT OCEAN ROAD? | Places to Visit in Melbourne, Victoria, Australia
Hello! Okay, so these footages are taken when I went to visit my bf when he was during a week of placement at a rural town, Tralagon. So, we decided to take the chance to travel around the area. These places are really not too far from Melbourne city, about 1-2 hours drive away. And I personally love Inverloch. If you don't wanna drive like 4-5 hours to Great Ocean Road, this could be a good alternative. This could actually be a better alternative since its not crowded with tourists and all.
1. Lakes Entrance: Surf beach and TO THE ENTRANCE WALK
You have to walk through the trail, starting at the end of the bridge from the town centre (See video for more info) Tbh, that was like one of the best places I visited.
2. Nyerimilang - Heritage Park: This park is for the aboriginals. The drive there was quite shady, but follow the GPS and you will get there lol. It looks amazing and you can see the golden beach from there.
3. South Gippsland- Toora Wind Farm: This is just a very nice place to take a picture. (Refer to my thumbnail) Gives you the holland-y feels :D
4. Inverloch- Shack bay, eagles nest and the oaks: GUYS THIS IS DAMN NICE HAHA its like replacement for 12 apostles and all. And so much nearer.
Bonus: Dinner place at O'Neils. Since you are around the region, just pop by this restaurant. Although not the cheapest but the food is WEW. YUM!
That's all. If you loved this, like, comment, subscribe?:P
Charters Towers, Queensland
Charters Towers is a town in northern Queensland, Australia. It is 134 kilometres inland from Townsville on the Flinders Highway. In 2016 the population was 8,120 people. During the last quarter of the 19th century the town boomed as the rich gold deposits under the city were developed.
Take a step back in time and discover the enchanting outback town of Charters Towers, just an hour and a half west of Townsville. Driving through the streets of Charters Towers is like viewing a living montage of Australian history and heritage. When gold was first discovered in Charters Towers in 1871, Charters Towers became a gold rush town and quickly grew to become the second largest town in Queensland. Today, the magnificent heritage buildings are testament to the prosperity of years past. 360 video: Entrance to Sydney Opera House, Sydney, Australia
The icon of Sydney is a must visit even for those who do not enjoy opera all that much. The expressionist building was designed by Jørn Utzon from Denmark in the 1950s and this innovative design of his changed the course of the modern day architecture. Since 2007, the building is also listed on UNESCO World Heritage List.
The Opera House does not consist of only one grand stage. There are several individual venues located inside: the Concert Hall, the Joan Sutherland Theatre, the Drama Theatre, the Playhouse, the Studio, the Utzon Room, the Recording Studio and the Forecourt.
If you wish to visit the Opera House, you can either buy tickets for a specific performance or you can take part in the daily tours which are organised by the Opera House. The various tours (e.g. tours in languages other than English or children-friendly tours) are listed on the official website. Booking the tour in advance is highly recommended.

WOLLI CREEK - Sydney Australia | Walking Tour
Wolli Creek is a suburb in southern Sydney, in the state of New South Wales, Australia. It sits beside the Wolli Creek and Cooks River waterways. Wolli Creek is situated between the suburbs of Arncliffe and Tempe, 10 kilometres south of the Sydney central business district and is part of the St George area. Wolli Creek is in the local government area of Bayside Council.
Wolli Creek was named after the waterway on its northern border.
The suburb was previously part of Arncliffe. Reuben Hannam was granted land in 1825 on the banks of Cooks river. Alexander Brodie Spark purchased land in 1826 and built Tempe house in 1836. It was named after 'Vale of Tempe', a beautiful valley in ancient Greek legend set at the foot of Mount Olympus. Tempe House, designed by John Verge, has a Georgian feel and is regarded as one of the great houses of Sydney.
The area became predominantly industrial until a redevelopment was planned in the late 1990s. The new suburb was to be called North Arncliffe, but residents in the area petitioned the council to conduct a vote to select a better name. Wolli Creek was the most popular choice. Wolli Creek railway station opened in 2000. Wolli Creek was officially declared a suburb in 2002.
Wolli Creek has a number of heritage-listed sites, including: Tempe House and St Magdalenes Chapel.
Once industrial, Wolli Creek was redeveloped in the 2010s into a high-density residential and commercial area. Its close proximity to the Sydney CBD and Sydney Airport make it an attractive residential location.
An Aldi supermarket, Woolworths Supermarket and a Dan Murphy's liquor store are located in the suburb.
The main retail precinct is the Village Square, which is directly opposite the Wolli Creek station entrance.
Wolli Creek is home to two hotels: Novotel Sydney International Airport and Quality Hotel CKS Sydney.
At the 2016 census, Wolli Creek had a population of 6,394. Compared to the national average of 14.4%, 48.5% of the population were aged between the ages of 25 and 34. The most common countries of birth were: China (24.7%), Australia (21.7%), Mongolia (4.9%), Brazil (4.3%), Indonesia (3.4%) and India (2.9%). English at home, was spoken by only 24.7% of people. Other languages spoken at home included Mandarin 24.2%, Cantonese 5.9%, Mongolian 4.6%, Portuguese 4.1% and Indonesian 3.1%. The most common responses for religion were No Religion 41.9% and Catholic 15.5%. Flats were 97.3% of occupied residences. The average number of people living in each household was 2.4.
