Hangi renkler kullanılmışsa kullanılan her renk soğuduğunda belli oluyor; ateşte kor halinde cam turuncu iken soğuduğunda kendi rengine dönüyor.
The Glass Furnace is an international glass center built in Beykoz, Istanbul.
The Glass Furnace was established by Yılmaz Yalcinkaya to deliver primary goals such as to provide a high standard of education to its students, to form a common meeting group for local and international artists who are interested in glass art, and to contribute to the development of contemporary Turkish glass and fine arts.
Since the day it was opened, The Glass Furnace has been hosting world renowned artists, teaching various glass techniques to Turkish students and students from all over the world during its two days workshops and two week intensive courses, and bringing the glass friends together through exciting activities.
The Glass Furnace, as a non-profit organization, continues to encounter different cultures, experiences and backgrounds and improve the art of glass.
The glass technique is as follows; Firstly, an iron rod is plunged into the glass metal later, the rod is turned to gather the glass.
The glass is removed from the crucible and shaped and cooled outside the furnace. The gather, now slightly cooled is dipped into a mould prepared with coloured glass rods arranged amound it is blown into a bulb over the rods and the fuses to them while still hot. The form is returned to the crucible to case the rods completely in glass.
The vessel is given a last shaping in the mould, during which the required twist is given to the filigree by hand turning- a detail requiring considerable skill. The finished form is cooled and sewered from the rod.

Showcase: The art of glass blowing
Glassblowing, is a centuries old art form that involves shaping and molding bits of molten glass into vessels, vases or pieces of rare art. For the past 14 years, The Glass Furnace in Turkey has been on a mission to keep this tradition alive and it's doing it by holding workshops that attract participants from all over the world.
Glass-blowing studio in Eskişehir, Turkey
It was almost two years ago when I went to Turkey to visit my friends and family. I went to Eskişehir, a city in northwestern Turkey and the capital of the Eskişehir Province.
We went to bazaar one day with my cousin, and we ended up in this glass-blowing studio/shop. This was a family business, according to the girl in the video. She was student and if I can recall correctly she was a fine arts major.

Glass Workshop in Görece,Turkey
A traditional glass workshop in Görece, Turkey where I visited for studying about techniques of ancient glasses. The craftsman makes glass beads directly from molten glass and the making style is very different from modern common style like lampwork. I think that is similar to the technique of blown glass, though they can't blow glass.

The Glass Man.
Yelsin has been making glass art in the town of Oludeniz, Southern Turkey for many years. Fascinating to watch him at work so I made this little clip for him. Many holiday makers will have bought his glassware and will recognize him.

Knitting with Glass
Learn to knit with glass! Working with strands of wax, students will knit small objects to transform into glass using the lost-wax-casting process. The class will cover all aspects of glass casting: wax-working, spruing waxes, mold-making, kiln schedules, divesting and cold-working. All levels are welcome. But beginners should be prepared to be challenged.
The Glass Furnace is in the Turkish countryside north of Istanbul, on the Asian side of the Bosphorous river near the Black Sea. This will be my third time teaching there. It is a magical place.
