Spain: Streets smashed as IMF attend Global Forum in Bilbao
Around 2,000 people protested against the International Monetary Fund, who were partaking in the Global Forum Spain conference in Bilbao, Monday.
Demonstrators, with the support of the European Trade Union Confederation, held banners saying 'Troika Go Home', denouncing economic policies that welcome austerity measures and the introduction of cuts. During the protest, cars and windows were left smashed, including that of a Santander bank.
Christine Legarde, IMF's managing director, Inigo Urkullu, President of the Basque Government and Minister of Economy Luis de Guindos were among those attending the conference. During the meeting Legarde warned that a prolonged period of low inflation could put the eurozone's economic recovery at risk.

Traditional methods of coping with concurrent programming problems are
well-known and described in literature. Many programming languages,
including Python, contain in their standard libraries tools and
primitives such as semaphores and can spawn threads or subprocesses.
However, in the face of increasing interest in service oriented
architecture and building distributed systems, that span across many
independent server nodes, emerges a need to adapt traditional
solutions, so they can be applied in the new environment.
In this talk I will share my experiences gathered during building a
modern contact center - highly concurrent system, which requires
certain resources to be accessed exclusively by several self-contained
components.
