Event: Reaching for Equity and Excellence: California’s Educational Progress and the Path Ahead
On Thursday, February 21, 2019, the Learning Policy Institute (LPI) and EdSource hosted a forum which provided an in-depth look at California’s progress towards education equity and excellence. The event featured the release of a new LPI report, The California Way: The Golden State’s Quest to Build an Equitable and Excellent Education System, and included a series of panels with leading researchers, policymakers, advocates, organizers, and practitioners.
The event was designed to highlight education exemplars in California and spur dialogue among stakeholders about progress, challenges, and next steps for California.

NASA Astronauts Complete All-Woman Spacewalk
On Friday, Oct. 18, NASA astronauts Christina Koch and Jessica Meir completed NASA's first all-woman spacewalk. During the 7-hour, 17-minute spacewalk, the pair replaced a failed power controller and completed several other tasks in preparation for future spacewalks.

My name is Erik Lillmars owner of DCX Surf School
As you can tell I love Surfing, and surfing with my dog Malu.
DCX Surf School welcomes you to Hawaii on this paradise island of Oahu. DCX surf school is located on the island of Oahu in Hawaii. Oahu has some of the best surf in the world, and Waikiki is definitely the best place to take surf lessons in Hawaii. (Why you might ask). Surf in Waikiki on average is 1 to 2 feet, and nice rolling waves that can give you nice long 100-yard rides. We offer surf lessons from beginner to advance, and surf on small friendly waves. Each of our surf lessons takes about an hour and a half to complete. Each Surf instructor is Hawaii, Oahu state certified in C.P.R, and lifeguard certified, and has many years experience with local surf knowledge on the island of Oahu. Hawaii has been part of the surf world from the very beginning. Even before they called it surfing. Here at DCX Surf School we hope to be the highlight of your Hawaii vacation, and provide the safest surf lessons in Hawaii on this beautiful island of Oahu. I know a lot of surf instructors, and surf schools here on Oahu. And a good majority of them do not give a lot of instruction. They just push you into the waves. To me that is not a good surf lesson. When taking surf lessons you should be learning how to surf. We here at DCX surf school try to provide you with all the basic skills you will need to be a safe and respectful surfer. The Civil Rights Act Of 1964 turns 50 this year, and Alameda County Supervisor Keith Carson's hosting an event at Beebe Memorial Cathedral, 3900 Telegraph Ave, Oakland, CA, US, from 6 PM to 8 PM.
The 50th Anniversary Commemoration of the 1964 the Civil Rights Act is a celebration featuring Bay Area civil rights attorney Howard Moore, Jr., and featuring Dr. Clayborne Carson, Director of the Martin Luther King, Jr., Research and Education Institute at Stanford University, and civil and human rights activist Angela Davis.

Sinopsis: Los perros además de ser los mejores amigos del hombre también desarrollan labores importantes, ya sea de cuidado, de compañía y de competencia. El pastor Belga Malinois es una raza capaz de llevar a cabo todas estas actividades gracias a su gran capacidad de aprendizaje.
A finales de los años 1800, existía en Bélgica un gran número de perros conductores de rebaños cuyo tipo era heterogéneo y sus pelajes eran de una gran diversidad. Con el fin de poner órden en esta situación, algunos canófilos apasionados constituyeron un grupo que tuvo como guía al profesor A. Reul, de la escuela de Medicina Veterinaria de Cureghem, quien puede considerarse como el verdadero pionero y fundador de la raza. La raza nace oficialmente entre 1891 y 1897. El 29 de septiembre de 1891, se funda en Bruselas el “Club del Perro de Pastor Belga” y ese
mismo año, el 15 de noviembre, el profesor A. Reul logra el
agrupamiento de 117 perros, lo que le permite llevar a cabo un censo y hacer un escogido de los mejores ejemplares. En los años
siguientes se comienza una verdadera selección, realizando una
consanguinidad extrema en algunos sementales.
El 3 de abril de 1892, el “Club del Perro de Pastor Belga” redactó un
primer estándar bien detallado de la raza. Se admitió una sola raza,
con tres variedades de pelo. De todos modos, como se decía en esa época, El Pastor Belga era sólo un perro de gente humilde y por lo tanto una raza que carecía aún de prestigio. Por consiguiente, no es sino hasta 1901 que los primeros Perros de Pastor Belgas fueron registrados en el Libro de los Orígenes de la Sociedad Real SaintHubert (L.O.S.H.). En el transcurso de los años siguientes, los dirigentes aficionados del pastor belga se dedicaban tenazmente a unificar el tipo y corregir los defectos.
Podemos afirmar que hacia el 1910 el tipo y el carácter del Pastor
Belga estaban ya establecidos.
A través de la historia del Pastor Belga, el asunto de las diversas
variedades y de los colores aceptados ha dado lugar a muchas
controversias. Por el contrario, en lo que concierne a la morfología,
el carácter y la aptitud al trabajo, nunca ha existido desacuerdo
alguno.
