Take a Tour (Kinda) with Vincent: Toyosu, Koto-ku, Tokyo
Follow me around on errands and junk. Toyosu is a station on the Yurikamome and Rinkai lines, in Odaiba's area, right down the street from Ariake. Ariake, by the way, is definitely where Comiket happens. Summer Comiket is a-comin up!
I tried turning on the Stabilize feature on this video, so if it looks weird in places, that's probably why.
Tokyo Hidden Gems that NO ONE Mentions | Tourist Trap Alternatives
This Japan Guide focuses lesser known Tokyo Hidden Gems that are not mentioned in a lot of Tokyo guide books. I wanted to show you some secret hidden spots to most Japan tourists. Instead of take you to the regular Tokyo Tourist Traps that are often prime destinations for first time Japan visitors, I wanted to take you to some of my favorite local places in Tokyo. This video will serve as Guide for these Tokyo hidden gems and will give you ideas on what to do in Tokyo. You don't need to follow the path in the standard guide books to have a great time in Tokyo. Also, this hidden gem spots may also serve to be great instagram / instagramable places in Tokyo as you will see from this video.

Hamarikyu is a beautiful Edo-period garden hidden just beyond the Shiodome and Shimbashi area.
Zojoji is one of the seven great head temples of Jodo Sect, located in Shiba Park. It was built in 1393 and moved to this location in 1598. Zojoji is known to be the family temple of the biggest shogunate during the Edo period and in fact is the house of 6 Tokugawa shogunates.
One of the indearing features of this site is located on the side of the main building. The Sentai Kosodate Jizo statues stand in line in cute little red hats and pinwheels smiling at you.
The Tokyo Farmer's Market is located in front of United Nation University, just 5 minutes walk from Omotesando Station.
Jiyugaoka, directly translated means Freedom Hill. The area started developing in the 1920’s and over the years has become desirable places to live in Tokyo. Wide open streets, minimal crowds, a variety of shops and restaurants and only a 12min ride from Shibuya make it one my favorite chill spots in Tokyo.
Koto Hirgagu shrine is wedged right in the middle of the Toranomon business district. Built in the 1600's, this shrine used to be the south entrance of Edo Castle.
The 4 animals on the torii represent the 4 Guardians of the East, West, South and North. It signifies that this was once a very powerful site. It enshrines the strongest god in Japanese mythology Oomono Nuno Kami.

Inside Toyosu Fish Market in Tokyo
A day in the life of Japanese Restaurant buyer at Toyosu Fish Market. Tsukiji Fish Market (only Jonai/Inner market) has moved to Toyosu Market. The official opening of Toyosu Fish Market was October 13 2018. I have made Japanese Street Food Guide for Tsukiji Fish Market before. The video is about JOGAI Tsukiji fish market and it is still in the same spot and it's in business. If you are looking for STREET FOOD, I recommend visiting Tsukiji JOGAI fish market, not Toyosu Fish Market. A lot of the restaurants that were in business for a long time at Tsukiji JONAI Market moved so if you are looking for sit-down restaurants then Toyosu is good also.

Video taken last 05 February 2019
Location 1 of this video:
First Avenue Tokyo Station
1 Chome-9-1 Marunouchi, Chiyoda City, Tokyo 100-0005, Japan
One of our favorite places to go back to Tokyo is the First Avenue Tokyo Station for the food, souvenirs and lots of shops in this place.
Here we visited Stores like Doraemon, Rement, Kabukiyahonpo, Calbee Plus and many more.
We think that 1 day will not be enough to visit all the shops here. They have all the famous cartoon characters here and not only limited to japanese characters like Kabuki, Anime and Manga. Famous landmark also is the Tokyo Okashi Land for all your confectioners, freshly made products seen firsthand, gift shops and so many concept stores.
There’s also the Tokyo Ramen Street inside this Avenue but we decided to try the Camp Curry at Otemachi which is just walking distance and we didn’t regret it.
Location 2 of this video:
Toyosu Market
6 Chome-3 Toyosu, Koto City, Tokyo 135-0061, Japan
We didn’t enjoy tour visit here at Toyosu Market (The New Tsukiji Market) except for the Food Hall.
This is newly opened by the time we visited (around 4 months old) and probably we came at the wrong time of the day because wholesale viewing are done and we didn’t see much of it. Also It is off limits to visitors so you can only view it from their observation window when you come in the morning around 5am. This is really a big place so expect long walk to go from building to building.
We’ve tried the Tonkatsu Restaurant and beware it so crowded when you dine during lunch time.
Check out this link for other details:
Location 3 of this video:
Ippudo
Japan, 〒104-0061 Tokyo, Chuo City, Ginza, 4 Chome−10−3 セントラルビル 1F
First time to try Ippudo here in Tokyo although we have it also in our home country. We just want to compare the standard and quality. Basically same but you know the feeling when youre having it from the original source. You can really feel the depth of the flavor in every bowl of their tonkotsu ramen and the gyoza is also so good.

Japan Trip: Kotoku Temple refined white wall, Kiso Valley, Nagano12 Moopon
Tsumago was a post town on the Nakasendo route between Kyoto and Edo. It is known today as one of the best preserved post towns in Japan. The town and its residents go to great lengths to recreate the environment and atmosphere of the Edo Period. Cars are not allowed on the main street in the day and phone lines and power cables are kept invisible, allowing visitors to imagine they have slipped back to an earlier time.
Tsumago also recreates the post town ambience by maintaining its Honjin and Wakihonjin. In all post towns, the Honjin was the principal inn and served government officials who were traveling through. When more accomodations were required, the Wakihonjin served to accommodate the travelers of lower status. Tsumago also maintains the office where laborers and horses were rented to aid in travel.
Kotoku Temple (Kotokuji) is a Buddhist temple which is believed to have been built in 1500. It is not really remarkable, but still quite pleasant.

Tsukiji Fish Market Bluefin Tuna Auction Tokyo Japan
The Tsukiji Market (築地市場 Tsukiji shijō), supervised by the Tokyo Metropolitan Central Wholesale Market (東京都中央卸売市場 Tōkyō-to Chūō Oroshiuri Shijō) of the Tokyo Metropolitan Bureau of Industrial and Labor Affairs, is the biggest wholesale fish and seafood market in the world and also one of the largest wholesale food markets of any kind.
The market is located in Tsukiji in central Tokyo, between the Sumida River and the upmarket Ginza shopping district. While the inner wholesale market has restricted access to visitors, the outer retail market, restaurants and associated restaurant supply stores remain a major tourist attraction for both domestic and overseas visitors.
The market handles more than 400 different types of seafood from cheap seaweed to the most expensive caviar, and from tiny sardines to 300 kg tuna and controversial whale species. Overall, more than 700,000 metric tons of seafood are handled every year at the three seafood markets in Tokyo, with a total value in excess of 600 billion yen (approximately 5.9 billion US dollars on November 24, 2013). The number of registered employees as of 25 January 2010 varies from 60,000 to 65,000, including wholesalers, accountants, auctioneers, company officials, and distributors.
The market opens most mornings (except Sundays, holidays and some Wednesdays) at 3:00 a.m. with the arrival of the products by ship, truck and plane from all over the world. Particularly impressive is the unloading of tons of frozen tuna. The auction houses (wholesalers known in Japanese as oroshi gyōsha) then estimate the value and prepare the incoming products for the auctions. The buyers (licensed to participate in the auctions) also inspect the fish to estimate which fish they would like to bid for and at which price.
The auctions start around 5:20 a.m. Bidding can only be done by licensed participants. These bidders include intermediate wholesalers (nakaoroshi gyōsha) who operate stalls in the marketplace and other licensed buyers who are agents for restaurants, food processing companies, and large retailers.
The auctions usually end around 10:00 a.m. Afterward, the purchased fish is either loaded onto trucks to be shipped to the next destination or on small carts and moved to the many shops inside the market. There the shop owners cut and prepare the products for retail. In case of large fish, for example tuna and swordfish, cutting and preparation is elaborate. Frozen tuna and swordfish are often cut with large band saws, and fresh tuna is carved with extremely long knives.
The Tsukiji fish market occupies valuable real estate close to the center of the city. Former Tokyo Governor Shintaro Ishihara repeatedly called for moving the market to Toyosu, Koto. The long-anticipated move to the new market will take place in November 2016, in preparation for the 2020 Tokyo Summer Olympics.
Narita Airport to Tokyo: Arrival to Train in Real Time
How to get from Narita Airport (Terminal 2) to Tokyo (City Center) by train. That’s what this real Time video is all about, made live so you can see how easy (or how hard) it is.
You can either take the
NARITA EXPRESS (Japan Rail JR) or
KEISEI “SKYLINER” or Express trains.
I always take KEISEI because it’s cheaper and it connects with the TOEI SHINJUKU Subway Line at Motoyawata, 56 minutes away / ¥780 (super cheap!)

tokyo teamlab borderless exhibition ✨ | Japan Vlog 3.5
Hello my friends!
This is my last Japan vlog for this trip - so sad, but not really because I'm sure you guys were all sick of watching the same content all the time hehe. Anyway, we spent our last week in the lovely Tokyo, but I only decided to vlog one day because a lot of the trip was quite chill, shopping and eating, which you've seen in my previous Japan series already. This day was spent doing something a little new in ODAIBA, which I was super excited the whole trip about.
Firstly, we went to Tsukiji Fish Market, a total icon in Japan, which I had surprisingly never visited before. It was an awesome experience and I'm glad I got to see the old market, as there's news it will be moving into a more modern facility, so that the fish stays fresh. Afterwards, we travelled on to Odaiba for Teamlab Borderless, which is the super popular exhibition of lights and immersion that you always see on people's instagram. Watch on to hear about my experience...
Let me know where you want me to go next! Or should I go back to JAPAN HAHAH oki bai

あてどなく初夏の豊洲へ 豊洲新市場 Toyosu New Market Walkabout 2015-6-22
Just Walkabout Toyosu Area
豊洲に行って豊洲新市場の建設現場などを見てきました。
Toyosu (豊洲) is an area of Kōtō, Tokyo, Japan. Its subdivisions consist of Toyosu 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, and 6 chome.
The area of Toyosu was created in 1937 on reclaimed land.Toyosu was chosen by former Governor of Tokyo Shintarō Ishihara for relocating Tsukiji fish market, but there was a longstanding controversy over this plan due to the toxic contamination of the chosen relocation area. The move to Toyosu will take place in November 2016, in preparation for the 2020 Tokyo Summer Olympics. There are plans to retain a retail market, roughly a quarter of the current operation, in Tsukiji.
