Tram Besançon | Ginko (Keolis) CAF Urbos 3 24m. | 9 september 2019
De tram van Besançon is nog vrij nieuw voor de stad. De ingebruikname van de tramlijnen begon met de inhuldiging op 30 & 31 augustus 2014 en de eerste passagiersritten waren op 1 september 2014.
De tramnetwerk bestaat uit twee tramijnen, T1 Hauts du Chazal naar Chalezeule v.v. (29 tramhaltes) & T2 Hauts du Chazal naar Gare Viotte v.v. (20 tramhaltes) en rijden doordeweeks beide een 12 minuten dienst, waardoor op het samenloopdeel (18 tramhaltes) een 6 minuten dienst ontstaat.
De tramlijnen worden bereden door de CAF Urbos 3 (801 t/m 819) van 24m. lang en 2.40m. breed en kunnen ongeveer 135 pasagiers vervoeren. Er is een plan om in 2020/2021 de gehele of een gedeelte van het wagenpark te verlengen van 24 meter naar 36 meter om de capaciteit te verhogen op de tramlijnen. Bij de bouw van de tramlijnen is daar al rekening mee gehouden.

Besançon is a city in eastern France, near the border with Switzerland. The old city center lies in a horseshoe bend on the Doubs River. The sprawling Citadel of Besançon perches on a hill and is home to 3 museums, a zoo and 600m-long ramparts. At the foot of the hill, Besançon Cathedral has a unique 70-dial astronomical clock that indicates sunrise and sunset, eclipses, and tides in French ports.
Hugging a bouclé (hairpin curve) of the River Doubs, the cultured and very attractive capital of Franche-Comté remains refreshingly modest and untouristy, despite charms such as a monumental Vauban citadel, a graceful 18th-century old town and France’s first public museum. In Gallo-Roman times, Vesontio (over the centuries, the name evolved to become Besançon) was an important stop on the trade routes linking Italy, the Alps and the Rhine, and some striking remains of this period survive.
Besançon (affectionately known as Besac by its inhabitants) is situated in an oxbow bend of the river Doubs (known as la Boucle). The river encircles the old town, while the imposing citadel, built by military engineer Vauban, blocks the neck of the river bend.
The city has a long history, and has been settled since the Bronze Age (ca. 1,500 BC). In Roman times, Besançon was a flourishing provincial town known as Vesontio. Some Roman remains can still be admired in the city centre. In the late Middle Ages, Besançon was a free city state within the Holy Roman Empire. From the 14th to the 17th century, Besançon and the region of Franche-Comté changed hands various times between Burgundy, Spain and France, and were finally joined with France in 1678. From then on, Besançon became an important strategic town for the French, and large fortifications were built to defend it. Besançon has however not played any major role in French history since then, and its location as a relative backwater has left the city centre largely unspoiled.

Besancon is the capital of the department of Doubs and of the Franche-Comté region in eastern France, close to the border with Switzerland. Once proclaimed first green city of France, it has been labeled a Town of Art and History since 1986. Since 2008, Besançon's Vauban citadel has been listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
Besançon is located in the north-east quarter of France on the Doubs River. It is about 325 kilometres (202 miles) east of the national capital of Paris, 100 kilometres (62 miles) east of Dijon in Burgundy, 125 km (78 mi) northwest of Lausanne in Switzerland, and 100 km (62 mi) southwest of Belfort in Franche-Comté. It is located at the edge of the Jura Mountains.
Besancon is famous for its microtechnology and watch industries. It is host of the biannual Micronora trade fair, one of Europe's major events in the field of microtechnologies. The city has a little-known specialty, automatic ticketing machines for car parking, airports, date stamping. The watch industry, for which Besançon remains the French capital, endured a major crisis in the 1970s when the advent of quartz watches from Asia knocked out the traditional watch industry in the space of just a few years. The famous Lip affair epitomizes the industrial crisis. LIP is to this day the name of one of Besançon's most prestigious brands of watches. Refusing to let their factory close, the workers set up a cooperative to run it. The action produced a lot of notoriety and sympathy for the workers but also resulted in branding Besançon as a city of the radical left.
UNESCO added the Besancon citadel, the city walls and Fort Griffon to its list of World Heritage Sites in 2008, as part of the Fortifications of Vauban group. Some older military architecture has also survived. There is a cylindrical, 15th-century tower near the Porte Notre-Dame, the southern gate of the city. The Porte Rivotte, a 16th-century gate, has two round towers. The citadel houses the Museum of the French Resistance and Deportation.

Les premiers travaux de dévoiement des réseaux débutent à l'automne 2010. Neuf réunions publiques d'information sont organisées dans les quartiers et communes de l'agglomération entre le 20 octobre et le 22 novembre 2010. L'enquête publique se tient du 20 décembre 2010 au 28 janvier 2011, les cinq commissaires-enquêteurs chargés d'étudier le dossier remettent un avis favorable, sans aucune réserve, le 31 mars 201113. Le 12 mai 2011, les délégués de la communauté d'agglomération du Grand Besançon approuvent lors d'un vote du conseil communautaire la déclaration de projet intégrant les recommandations des commissaires enquêteurs. La déclaration d'utilité publique est signé le 15 juin 2011 par le préfet du Doubs14. Les travaux de la plateforme ont débuté au mois de mars 2011, pour s'achever à l'automne 2013. Les premiers essais ont débuté en septembre 2013[réf. nécessaire]. La marche à blanc débutera le 17 juillet 2014[réf. nécessaire] et s'achevera la veille de l'inauguration prévue les 30 et 31 août15 et la mise en service commerciale le 1er septembre 201416, avec huit mois d'avance par rapport au calendrier du début des travaux Sources d'information Wikipédia

Bien le bonjour à tous,
Voici une nouvelle vidéo à bord de la ligne de tramway T2 entre la Gare Viotte et République, qui est devenu le terminus provisoire vendredi 16 novembre à cause de la visite du Président de la République. Du coup, les tramways circulaient entre Haut-du-Chazal et Chamars , Gare Viotte/Chalezeule et République.
