Crossing into Java | Bali to Banyuwangi
One way to get from the island of Bali to the island of Java, Indonesia, is to take a ferry from Gilimanuk. But this requires a bit of overland travel by bus and car, making the journey sort of a long one and making Bali seem a LOT bigger than it actually is. From Ubud to Ubung, there are no buses and you need to take a private car. From there you get on a crappy old bus and head straight for the west coast of Bali, driving up the coast until you hit the small port town of Gilimanuk. What awaits you on the other side? East Java--a place so different from Bali that you'll feel it as soon as you set foot off the ferry. Banyuwangi is the gateway to nearby Mt. Ijen and the entry to Java's rail system., and when you've got to stop over for a night or two, be sure to stay at Ijen Backpacker's hostel. The hosts will treat you right. ; )
Join Sunwoo and Kevin as they take a two-month journey across much of Southeast Asia. We'll take in the sights, meet the locals, eat all the food, and take you on a tour of all the exciting and crazy places we explore, uploading videos as quickly as we can edit them. If you'd like to follow our adventure, please like and subscribe to our channel. About me:
My name is Eivind, I am a thirty six year old Norwegian guy living in Oslo, Norway. I am quite new to the YouTuber travel vlog sphere, but hope that you find my videos cool, and as time pass by I hope you see my content getting better and better. My goal is trying to enlighten and brighten your day by giving you interesting videos about traveling, meeting people and eating food from all different kinds of cuisines. Another thing that I want is to break down barriers of travel and prejudices of foreign countries and cultures. My opinion is that most people and cultures are friendly, but unfortunately sometimes media gives a biased view.
Usually my travels goes to places that are a bit out of the beaten track, like smaller cities or just less known cities, where I explore the neighborhoods or head into the nature. If possible, I`ll bring my drone also, but this has become more difficult in recent years due to strict regulations. I will also try to make some videos about my home country Norway, one of the most beautiful countries in the world.
On my travels I like to connect with the local people. Usually I do this via Couchsurfing, either just by meeting up with people to explore together or by actually staying at their place. I also wander aimlessly around in places talking to random people.
I do host a lot of people in my place in Oslo, maybe someday it will be you.
One of my biggest passion in life is food. And when cooking and eating together with nice people it`s the best. I make some videos together with some of my guests, these are really fun to make and I also learn to make new dishes. Maybe you can come cook with me?
Another thing I try to is enlighten people about the environment, especially the plastic problem we have all over the world. In almost every country I go to there is garbage all over. I film it and put it in some videos here and there. As a tip for you, try to pick up one piece of plastic everyday, and of course, never throw any in the first place.

Sundak java beach Indonesian
Sundak not only has exciting natural scenery, but also keeps the story. Name Sundak turns evolved which evidences can be traced geologically.
In order to know how evolution, visitors must know first suburb Sundak conditions then and now. On the western edge of the beach when YogYES are mosques and empty space that is now used as a parking lot. While in the east there are caves formed from rocks altitude of approximately 12 meters. Entering the cave, we will see the natural wells where residents get fresh water.
Region described above prior to 1930 are still submerged ocean. That said, the water up to the region that is now a mosque, the rocks that form the cave was still under water. As the geological processes on the south coast, sea surface water shrinks and more jutting into the sea. Rock and the area around the mosque became new land which is then used for the coastal population economic activity to date.
There is a unique natural phenomenon due to the activity which eventually became the starting point of naming this beach. During the wet season, a lot of water from the land that flows into the ocean. As a result, the plains on the east coast of splitting to form a formation like a river. The water that flows like mbedah (splitting) of sand. When the drought came, parts of it disappeared and since the sea water came in with sand. Natural phenomenon that causes the name of the beach into Wedibedah (sand split). When it comes wedi middle YogYES not split.
The name change took place a few decades later. Around 1976, there was an interesting incident. One afternoon, a dog is running around on the beach area and enter the cave coral met with a sea urchin. Because hungry, eat the dog mean sea urchin but the hedgehog avoided. There was a fight that eventually won the dog managed to eat half of the body of a sea urchin and out of the cave with pride. Deeds known owner of the dog, named Arjasangku, which saw half a sea urchin's body in a dog's mouth. Checking into the cave, it turns out the owner found the body of a sea urchin and a half remaining. Well, since then, the name changed into Sundak Wedibedah, stands asu (dog) and porcupine.
Unexpectedly, the fight was a blessing for the local population. After decades of water shortages, population eventually find springs. Initially, the owner of the wonder dog because the dog out of the cave with soaking wet. The hypothesis, in the cave there is water and the dog was drowned when chasing a porcupine. After trying to work with some of the residents, the prediction turned out right. Be present, the water in the cave used for the purpose of living. From inside the cave, now installed pipes to connect with residents. The findings of this spring treat residents as well disappointment built inundated by sea water.
Well, if the condition in 1930 just as said above, it can be estimated condition hundreds of years earlier. Certainly very many organisms that utilize the bottom of the reef which is now the cave and the area that is now the mainland. Therefore, many archaeologists believe that as a consequence of the geological processes that exist, many organisms that left and piled into a fossil. Fossil matter what is found, it is up to now not been much research reveals.
Besides offering a silent witness to history, Sundak also offers a pleasant evening atmosphere. You can enjoy the evening breeze while ordering raw fish to be grilled with friends. By paying a few thousand, you can buy wood for fuel. If lazy, messages are ripe so ready to eat. What is clear, do not be confused to find a place to stay. Visitors can sleep anywhere, set up a tent, or just lying on the bench stall if unused nights. Darkness does not need to fuss, is not boring if life continues ablaze?
If you want to, interact with the residents could be an enlightenment. You can find out how people live, their culture, and of course the new people who might be able to change your outlook on life. Mbah Tugiman commonly encountered vigil in the parking lot or Mbah Arjasangku could be an option. They are one of the elders at the beach Sundak. Talking with them making you do not just watch the historical evidence but also got the story from people who witnessed how the history engraved. Come, all of which there are already waiting

Indonesia | Travel to AMAZING Sumatra, Java, Bali & Lombok!
My friends and I have been traveling through Indonesia for one month. We visited Sumatra, Java, Bali, Lombok and the Gili islands. I think Indonesia is truly an amazing country to visit.
We started on the island Sumatra where we went to Bukit Lawang, situated in the northern part of Sumatra. This place is well known for it’s jungle with still loads of wild orangutans! Doing a jungle trekking is really amazing since you have a very big chance of seeing wild orangutans. We saw loads and they even came up to us and grabbed us; unreal! Furthermore we’ve also been on lake Toba for a couple of days. A beautiful lake with an island in the middle. It was nice to relax for some days.
After Sumatra we flew to Yogyakarta were (obviously) we’ve visited the stunning Borobudur temple. We’ve not seen much more there because the day after we were gonna head to the east of Java, Banyuwangi, where you can find the awesome Ijen volcano. In the night we started climbing the volcano and after some time you will see this beautiful crater and the famous ‘blue fire’. Once down the crater, it started to become light and slowly the sky turns in all these beautiful colors while the sun is coming up. It’s only then you start seeing the beautiful light blue lake and the yellow colors in the crater. It was such nice experience!
After Java we went to Lombok by boat and bus. Were we stayed in Kuta, this really chilled surfer hotspot. From there we rented a scooter and drove around Lombok. We also had a nice day at the beach of Selong Belanak. After spending some days on Lombok we took the boat to the Gili islands, the island Gili Trawangan (the party island) to be precies. These islands are close to the northwest of Lombok. Three beautiful small islands surrounded with nice blue water. Ideal for snorkeling trips or diving. But I have to say that I did not like the way they treat the horses on the islands that are used for transport all over. It’s just really sad! Please do not support this kind of transportation if you are there.
After the Gili’s I unfortunately had to say goodbye to my friends and I hopped on the boat to Bali, where a bus drove me to Kuta. Although it’s quite a touristy place, I really enjoyed it over there. Kuta beach is just amazing, with perfect surfer waves rolling in the whole day. Unfortunately I could only spend like three days on Bali, so I only stayed in the Kuta area. But I will definitely go back to Bali to see the whole island!
I really enjoyed my travels through Indonesia. Friendly people everywhere and just amazingly nature and beautiful culture. I will be back!
