Rep. Ken Helm:
Tualatin Hills Nature Park:
Walk with me through NATURE PARK in Beaverton, OR
A walk in Nature Park, a public park managed by Tualatin Hills Parks and Recreation District (THPRD). I grew up very close to this park, before it was a parkand just wild wetlands. It's in the middle of the city, but feels so big you can get lost in it. Oregon's well preserved nature is recognized nationally, and Beaverton has some of the best-integrated neighborhood parks in the state without question.

Week 8: Tualatin Hills Nature Park | Fun Things To Do In Oregon || Family VLOG
It has been SO COLD so far this year. We decided to brave the cold and go walking on the trails not too far from our house. These trails are nice when you have a stroller as we did this week because they are either paved or at least pretty flat. I really enjoyed that there were informative plaques that Ellie could read to learn about some of the stuff we were seeing. 10/10 recommend coming here to walk the trails!

Garter Snake at Tualatin Hills Nature Park
Came across this garter snake making it's way across one of the paths. Interesting how they raise their heads as they move. As you can tell some people walked up as I was filming. Thankfully they did not yell but were actually interested in watching the snake. Sorry about the camera strap at one point.
Cedar Mills, Beaverton Oregon
Today we travel to Cedar Mill Falls in Beaverton Oregon, just outside of Portland.
In the heart of Portland, OR there are magical waterfalls that most people don't know exist. A beautiful boardwalk leads up to the falls. It is easy and fun for kids to run up and down. An unofficial path leads down to the falls from Cornell St ( which you can see from the boardwalk). Take this path and it will lead you straight towards the falls.

Tualatin Valley Scenic Bikeway
Sometimes you don't have to travel very far to feel like you're far away. It only takes a short train ride from Portland to reach the countryside surrounding the Tualatin Valley Scenic Bikeway, a 50-mile route that combines 30 miles of country roads with 20 miles on the car-free Banks-Vernonia State Trail. It starts at Rood Bridge Park in Hillsboro, easily accessible by lightrail, then meanders through the towns of Forest Grove and Banks and the forest of the coast range before ending in Vernonia.

Biking The Fanno Creek Trail - Portland/Beaverton Oregon - June 24, 2018
This is Biking the Fanno Creek Trail here beginning in Portland Oregon. This Trail goes from Portland to Beaverton and into Tigard. Started this at the Garden Home Recreational Center off SW Oleson Rd. Have to cross several highways and eventually the trail reconnects in Greenway Park. I stopped where the trail ends that can continue into the town of Tigard Oregon. Very nice trail that I can get onto very near my daughter home. They have in Greenway Park a Disc or Frisbee full golf course as well. Also passed a store called the Electric Lettuce! That is a Cannabis store which is now legalized in Oregon got to love that name!
