Always READY TO RESPOND!
Russia prepares its 'GIRL CADETS' to serve MOTHER LAND & family.
Moscow, Russia
-Video from RIA Novosti
(Видео с Российское агентство международных новостей)
Stripping a Kalashnikov assault rifle is not something one would expect to see at an ordinary school lesson.
But Moscow's Female Cadet Boarding School No. 9 is not an ordinary school and is the only one of its kind in Russia.
These girls can definitely defend themselves, Deputy Headmaster Aleksey Zhukov says.
After they finish our school most of them want to pursue a career in law enforcement, and so far everybody has managed to take up command posts.
Since it opened in 2004 the school aims to bring back the cadet education that was abandoned in Soviet times.
But it's not just a military education; they also learn languages, about the law and history of art, alongside life skills like sewing and cooking.
Medical education is an important part of the school's program.
The girls spend at least four hours a month learning all types of first aid, including how to stop bleeding, applying bandages, and mouth-to-mouth resuscitation.
The school's museum is dedicated to some of the most influential women in Russian history.
From Empress Anna of Russia, who established the cadet movement in the 18th century to the first woman in space.
Everything in the school is aimed at developing a well rounded character.
The image of our graduate is a practical, advanced, intellectual woman who is ready to serve her country and be a loving mother, loyal wife, friend and a skillful hostess, says Headmaster Viktoriya Silenskaya.
Student Maria Korchagina's parents work in the civil service and she wants to continue the tradition.
At the age of sixteen she's already a senior sergeant -- albeit just in the school.
Life here is very saturated, Korchagina says. If ordinary students just have lessons, we get to travel, perform in shows and take part in parades. We never sit down to relax!
The school currently educates 161 students, all of them girls.
Most of them are allowed to go home only for the weekend and on school nights everyone has to be in bed by 10 pm.
The rules are strict -- especially for seniors -- but the girls say they still have a relatively normal social life, as the boys' cadet school is just around the corner.
Students of the unique Moscow's Female Cadet Boarding School No. 9 are no ordinary girls.
Lessons in this school take girl power to a whole new level.
Girl students say they are now prepared to serve their future families and country.

The story of one oak - Green-Go short film
I am more than 300 years old. Even then there was a time when I used to be a small oak. Back then this place was full of the thick forest. Then the people came and started cut down the trees...
The film was made for the Local History and Art Museum in Tula, Russia by Tatiana Moshkova.
Maria Orsic - The Goddess of the Devil: Hitler's Medium. Occult secrets of Nazi super science.
The Goddess Of The Devil is a historical novel by Mart Sander about the turbulent life of one of the most obscure and yet fascinating women of the Third Reich, a strikingly beautiful medium named Maria Orsic, pictured on the cover design.
The Nazi Party, which has become synonymous with all things evil, had its roots deep in occult societies. One of them – the Thule Society - was solely responsible for discovering and promoting Adolf Hitler, moulding him from a shy, disillusioned artist into a ruthless leader. The Thule Society had a subdivision for ladies - the Vril Society. This group of young women, actively practicing alternative sciences, was led by Viennese-born Maria Orsic. A remarkably beautiful woman with lush long hair (as was the trademark of the ladies of Vril), she was instrumental in instigating research into alternative science, actively pursued by the Nazis, which led to Germany’s unrivalled superiority in nuclear and space research.
Was everyone closely associated with Hitler, and influencing him, automatically evil? Was the stunning medium Maria Orsic a scheming adventuress - or a sensitive woman burdened with extraordinary powers and imagination, who found herself involuntarily in the centre of the power-play of the Nazi Party, the SS, cutting edge science and international spy rings? How does it happen that talented idealists can lead a nation to insanity? These and other challenging questions are addressed in following Maria’s tumultuous career in this novel, covering a span of nearly forty of the most explosive years in world history, including two world wars culminating in the birth of a new era of superweapons and superpowers.

Frontline at Znamenka: Watch in the name of Culture
We kindly ask you to distribute this film.
On 28 April 2017 Maliy Znamensky lane was marked by a Frontline, an invisible line which divided the 26 year history of the International Center of the Roerichs (ICR) into the period “before” and “after”.
In the past the International Center of the Roerichs and its non-governmental Museum named after Nicholas Roerich were recognized internationally, they organized travelling exhibitions, international scientific conferences, issued books and magazines... And now the Museum is destroyed by the Ministry of Culture and the Roerichs heritage seized.
It means that there should be a non-governmental control over the actions of the intruders here at Frontline. The documentary covers the history of the establishment of the non-governmental Museum named after Nicholas Roerich, its heyday and barbarous destruction. Please, help to spread the documentary, so that more people would know the truth about an unprecedented tragedy of our culture.
***
Foes are currently trying to destroy the International Center of the Roerichs under the pretext of protection of state interests. They are attempting to liquidate this non-governmental organization through forced bankruptcy by imposing enormous taxes and fines amounting to 60 million rubles. On October 29, 2019, the Arbitration Court of Moscow is to hold a hearing, in the outcome of which the International Center of the Roerichs might be declared bankrupt.

Novosibirsk, founded in 1893 at the future site of a Trans-Siberian Railway bridge crossing the great Siberian river of Ob, first was named Novonikolayevsk (Новониколаевск), in honor both of Saint Nicholas and of the reigning Tsar Nicholas II. It superseded nearby Krivoshchekovskaya village, which was founded in 1696. The bridge was completed in the spring of 1897, making the new settlement the regional transport hub. The importance of the city further increased with the completion of the Turkestan–Siberia Railway in the early 20th century. The new railway connected Novonikolayevsk to Central Asia and the Caspian Sea

Petit musée: The Salon of Marianne von Werefkin
I have long been an admirer of Marianne von Werefkin. Several years ago while attending courses at the Centro del bel ilibro in Ascona, Switzerland, I had the great privilege of visiting the museum there dedicated largely to her paintings. She led a very dramatic, passionate life full of vibrant, luminous color at the center of the emerging renaissance of new artistic expression in the early part of the 20th Century.
She was known in Ascona never to sell her paintings to anyone who did not love them and, if one was deemed with enough passion for it, she often sent the person away with the piece gratis.
A short biography from the Art Directory follows with some of my own comments and those from other various sources interspersed.
Marianna Wladimirowna Werefkina, a member of ancient Russian nobility, was born on 29 August 1860 in the Russian town of Tula to the commander of the Ekaterinaburg Regiment (in the service of the Czar.) She was well educated according to western standards and the young girl's artistic talents were recognised early and encouraged. She had her first private academic drawing lessons at the age of fourteen. She was introduced to Illarion Michailowitsch Prjanischnikow, a member of the 'Peredwischniki' (travelling painter), where she became a student of Ilya Repin who was most important painter of Russian Realism. When her family moved to St. Petersburg in 1886 Werefkin took private lessons under Repin. While hunting in 1888 she accidentally shot her right hand which remained crippled after a lengthy period of recovery. By practising persistently she finally managed to use drawing and painting instruments with her right hand again. She soon reached a perfection in realist painting which gave her the reputation as 'Russian Rembrandt'.
In 1891 she met Alexej von Jawlensky, who deeply fascinated her and whom she accompanied to Munich five years later. She put aside her own work and initiated a Salon which soon became a centre of lively artistic exchange. She also founded the 'Lukasbruderschaft' of which also Kandinsky was a member. A private crisis with Jawlensky culminated at the birth of their son in 1902 and Werefkin was so badly effected that she needed to recover during extensive travels in France. She began painting again in 1906. She and Jawlensky spent several periods working with Kandinsky and Münter after their discovery of the picturesque town of Murnau in 1908. They formed a new group: the 'Neue Künstlervereinigung München'. When Wassily Kandinsky and Franz Marc distanced themselves from this group and formed the 'Blauer Reiter', Werefkin also began exhibiting together with this group in 1913. She moved to Switzerland with Jawlensky in 1914. Another move in 1919 took the couple to Ascona where she joined the artist group 'Großer Bär'. She and Jawlensky separated two years later. Marianne von Werefkin died in Ascona on 6 February 1938.

Nizhny Novgorod Kremlin
The Kremlin, the cradle of Nizhny Novgorod, is the single most important and biggest landmark in the city. Some local historians have a simple explanation for why the founder of Nizhny Novgorod Yury (or Georgy) Vsevolodovich, the grandson of the founder of Moscow, Yury Dolgorukiy, built the Kremlin on the high bank of the Volga: he was enchanted by the view of the Strelka and beyond, opening up from the hills. The view is indeed tantalizing, but security must have been his other consideration. Even when the fortress was all wooden, it offered solid protection from the enemies, while the river on the other side served as a natural barrier. The Kremlin was rebuilt in stone in the 16th century. The tea.m. of architects and builders from Pskov was joined by the Italian architect Pietro Francesco, who was known in Russia as Piotr Fryazin.
The Kremlin has 13 towers. Some of them have survived intact, others have been restored. No two towers are alike architecturally and each has its own cache of legends.
Now, as centuries ago, the main entrance to the Kremlin is through St. Demetrios Tower, the largest Kremlin tower. It was named in honour of the Church of St. Demetrios of Thessaloniki, which had once stood in front of it. That church was later replaced by the Church of the Annunciation, which, similarly to three other churches on Kremlin grounds, would not survive the years of Soviet rule.
The 18th-century buildings inside the Kremlin currently house the Legislative Assembly, the Philharmonic and the Arbitration Court. The Soviet-era architectural landmarks next door are home to the regional government, the office of the envoy plenipotentiary of the President of Russia in the Volga Federal District, the city Mayor’s Office and the local Duma. The Modern Art Museum occupies the Czarist-era military arsenal building. The Art Museum is based in the former Governor’s Mansion, and the Military Technology Museum is deployed outdoors. All the military equipment on display was manufactured in Nizhny Novgorod, and all is in good working order. Perhaps the most monumental piece of machinery on show is the T-34 tank, manufactured by Krasnoe Sormovo Factory, standing next to the Eternal Flame and the sculptural memorial commemorating the soldiers of the Great Patriotic War.
Apart from its incontestable historical value, the Kremlin is dear to every Nizhny Novgorod resident on a personal level. Prom parties and lovers hang out on the sloping edge of Kremlin Boulevard till dawn, newlyweds bring flowers to the Eternal Flame on their wedding day, and parents bring their children here for New Year’s Eve parties at the Philharmonic inside the Kremlin walls.

Marai The Cat is The Doorman at The Museum of History and Art, in Serpukhov, Russia
A cat has become the latest employee at a Russian museum after an April Fool's prank backfired.
The ginger feline first started to hang around the Serpukhov Museum of History and Art in Serpukhov two years ago and became such a regular face that staff took him under their wing and nicknamed him Marai, in honour of the building's ex-owner Anna Maraeva.
Then earlier this month, workers played a prank on their Instagram page, claiming that Marai had been put on the payroll after applying for a job in the company.
They posted a picture of the cat's supposed covering letter online that had been signed with a paw print.
It read: 'As I am a direct relative of [Anna] Maraeva, I ask you to give me a job in your museum. Marai The Cat.'
But after local media took the story seriously, the museum was forced to create a position for Marai.
He is now the official door man for the Serpukhov Museum of History and Art.
Marai is responsible for welcoming visitors between the hours of 9am and 5pm every day, with a break for lunch.
Accommodation is provided in the form of a tent and he is paid in meatballs and caviar.
The appointment has been a huge hit with visitors, who have been posting selfies with Marai on social media, with some even bringing treats for him as gifts.

All Episodes of Forgotten Leaders
The project provisionally titled “Forgotten Leaders” is a series of seven films, each featuring an individual from the leaders of the Soviet state in power during the time period from 1920 to 1953. Each episode is a filmed portrait depicting the story of life, political and public activities of its hero. The heroes of “The Forgotten Leaders” are
individuals ambiguous from the perspective of the Russian and world’s history and odious and often sharply negative in the eyes of public consciousness. Unfortunately, when labeling, we often forget that “each individual
is a tangle of contradictions” and that “history is written by the victors”. Seven men. Seven lives. One era. What was behind their decisions and at what was the price they paid for their deeds?

Rabindranath Tagore's house - Jorasanko Thakur bari - archival footage
Popularly known as the ‘Jorasanko Thakurbari’, Rabindranath Tagore’s ancestral house is now a museum dedicated to the life and works of the Nobel Laureate. Built in 1785, the Jorasanko Thakur Bari is spread over 35000 square meters. Today the building houses Rabindra Bharati University, inaugurated by Jawaharlal Nehru on Tagore’s birth centenary, 8 May 1962. Within the complex is Maharishi Bhavan, named after the poet’s father, Maharishi Debendranath Tagore, where, as the plaque outside reads, “Rabindranath was born breathed his last here.” Today this house is a museum that has three galleries dedicated to Tagore, members of his family and the Bengal Renaissance. The galleries provide glimpses of intimate family photographs, live size portraits and Tagores evolution as a poet philosopher.
Unparalleled in talent, the Tagore family has produced stalwarts in the world of art and literature. The greatest among them was Gurudev Rabindranath Tagore. Also fondly known as ‘Kavi guru’, meaning the poet of poets – he was greatness personified in the field of art and literature. His most commendable work, ‘Geetanjali’ meaning offering of poems, had won him the prestigious Nobel Prize award. Tagore has always been a source of inspiration for the contemporary poets, writers and art lovers.
The museum has also preserved works of other eminent members of this illustrious family like Maharshi Devendranath Tagore, Jyotirindranath, Abanindranath and Dinendranath Tagore. It has also preserved the clippings of Tagore and a number of pictures and paintings of him and the entire family. The gifts received by him on different occasions are also present in the Rabindra Bharati Museum. The museum also has a section that stores old musical records. The Museum also includes possessions and information of the other great personalities of the 19th and 20th Century, who excelled in the field of Literature.
