SCUBA diving in Bali - Discover Scuba diving in Sanur with Bali Scuba
This video shows the great diving you can do with no experience required.
You'll see the PADI Discover Scuba program run by Bali Scuba in Sanur, South Bali, Indonesia. You'll be picked up from your hotel around 7AM and do your first dive in the swimming pool to help you become comfortable and confident in the water using scuba equipment. Then you'll take an unforgettable dive at the nearby dive site of Sanur. You'll see some amazing fish and corals. The fish will be almost close enough to touch (though of course you shouldn't). You'll be dropped back to your hotel by lunchtime after an experience you'll never forget.
You'll be with an experienced PADI Instructor from start to end who will be by your side throughout your dive.
This short video shows the fish and corals you can see while scuba diving on this program in Sanur:
If you have time available you can choose to take your PADI Discover Scuba program in Tulamben instead and take a thrilling dive on a World War Two shipwreck:

Bali Super Reasonable Price Diving Experience in Sanur | PT. HIRO CHAN Tour & Travel ~♪
PT. HIROCHAN, tour & travel agency, Bali Island - Indonesia
official website :
Practice diving in Bali is usually held out of Nusa Dua Ocean, so if you are staying in Kuta, Seminyak and Sanur areas, the transmit time will be longer. When the traffic is heavy on the bypass highway, it might take over 1 hour to get to Nusa Dua, but our Super Reasonable Diving is held in Sanur, so it has a great access from those areas and Ubud area which will take only about 75 minutes (a half of the time to go to Nusa Dua). It is important to consider locations due to the heavy traffics on all the main roads in Bali. You don't want to waste your valuable time in Bali, do you?

Sanur dive site: the highlights by Bali Scuba
This short video from Bali Scuba shows the highlights of diving in Sanur (Bali, Indonesia).
In the video you can see a wide variety of the marine life found in Sanur including the resident school of Batfish (and you’ll often see cute juvenile Batfish there too), Trumpetfish, Sweetlips, Pufferfish a big Moray Eel, Lionfish, and Clownfish - made famous by the movie, “Finding Nemo”. Swim a bit further out and White Tip Reef sharks are very commonly seen.
You can also see the wide variety of soft and hard corals in Sanur.
Sanur is a great dive site if you’re time-challenged. You can take two dives and be back in your hotel by lunchtime. It’s a much more convenient dive site to visit than many of the other sites around Bali.
Sanur is suitable for all levels of diver and we often use it to conduct the first two dives of the PADI Open Water course:
Sanur is also a great dive site if you have never tried diving before and don’t have time to take a course. You can dive Sanur on a half-day Discover Scuba experience:

Diving in Bali (720p)
Scuba diving in Bali. This DVD is available at
Diving in Bali is a document of an extraordinary expedition I made to Indonesia's magical island of Bali in 2006 with Aquamarine Diving,
From Tulamben's awesome USAT Liberty wreck, to the reef manta rays of Nusa Penida, via the fascinating macro marine life of Tulamben and Seraya Secrets, the footage covers the breadth of Bali's fascinating underwater world.
The video features 158 species of marine life, and their common and scientific names are available by turning on the captions with the CC button under the video. Viewers can now contribute subtitles for the marine life names in this video in many languages. Find out more at
From Tulamben there is footage of the wreck of the USAT Liberty in both day time and night time, including the humphead parrotfish that spend the night there. Also from Tulamben are numerous marine live encounters from dives at the Drop-Off and the Coral Garden.
Just around the corner we make a dive at Seraya Secrets, a macro hotspot where I encountered seahorses and nudibranchs.
From Padangbai on the east coast of Bali we have footage from The Blue Lagoon and Pura Jepun.
From the island of Nusa Penida we have the manta ray cleaning station, Manta Point, and Ped.
Full list of dive sites featured in this video:
1. USAT Liberty Shipwreck, Tulamben
The USAT Liberty was torpedoed by the Japanese off Lombok and beached at Tulamben in Bali. In 1963 the last eruption of Mount Agung caused the wreck to slide deeper into the sea where she lies today. The USAT Liberty shipwreck makes an excellent dive site. This video features the towering stern, the coral-encrusted gun on the bow, green humphead parrotfish (Bolbometopon muricatum), a Pacific hawksbill turtle (Eretmochelys imbricata bissa), garden eels, sweetlips and lots of other interesting marine life from the wreck and its surroundings.
The USAT Liberty also makes a fantastic night dive. Green humphead parrotfish sleep in the protection of the wreck. Other highlights include a Spanish dancer and a bluespotted ribbontail ray.
2. Coral Garden, Tulamben
The Coral Garden at Tulamben lies conveniently right off the middle of the beach. Skunk cleaner shrimps tend to moray eels and groupers at a cleaning station based around a barrel sponge. Also featuring a ribbon eel, ghost pipefish, leaf scorpionfish and trevallies schooling in the shallows.
3. Tulamben Drop-Off
Video from the Drop-Off at Tulamben, Bali, featuring a spectacular giant purple knotted sea fan, nudibranchs, a ghost pipefish and a seahorse. Before and after exploring the Drop-Off we spend time in the shallows where we meet Tulamben's famous schools of trevallies.
By night the drop-off at Tulamben provides plenty of treats for the visiting diver. This video includes a squat lobster, a cone shell, a dwarf cuttlefish, a hermit crab and various pretty reef fish.
4. Seraya Secrets
Seraya Secrets, nearby to Tulamben, is an exellent muck dive known for weird and wonderful critters. Here we encounter some batfish around the artificial reef project in the shallows. A little deeper we find 2 thorny seahorses, catfish, an anemone crab and nudibranchs.
5. Blue Lagoon, Padangbai
The Padangbai area on the east coast of Bali provides some fantastic diving. Just north of Padangbai lies the Blue Lagoon. This footage comes from my first ever dive in Indonesia with a video camera and features leaf scorpionfish, cuttelfish, anemonefish, lionfish, shrimps, catfish, nudibranchs, moorish idols and a goby.
6. Pura Jepun, Padangbai
Pura Jepun also lies just north of Padangbai and is home to some fantastic marine life. This video features clownish, sweetlips, angelfish, a peacock mantis shrimp, a stingray, a panther grouper, a wart slug, ribbon eels, a scorpionfish and a flying gurnard.
7. Manta Point, Nusa Penida
On the north-east side of Nusa Penida lies a cleaning station for reef manta rays (Manta alfredi) known as Manta Point. On 23rd May 2006 we had the pleasure of diving with these graceful giants.
8. PED, Nusa Penida
Ped is sloping reef on the north coast of Nusa Penida. Here we encounter a variety of tropical reef fishes including angelfish, triggerfish, anemonefish and scorpionfish, as well as a rhizostome jellyfish.

Diving with manta rays, Sanur, 2018
We spent a couple of nights in Sanur mainly spending our time underwater! We got to see loads of manta rays, turtles and lots of fish. Sanur is a great place to stay in Bali if you want great food and good accessibility but away from the busy crowds of Kuta and Seminyak.
Dive Girls Bali Safari - Part 1
This video highlights our adventurous first few days of diving at beautiful Nusa Lembongan, just 30 minutes by ferry from Sanur, south east Bali. We were incredibly lucky to see a young Mola Mola (Oceanic Sunfish) at Crystal Bay, massive Manta Rays at Manta Point and thousands of colourful fish and pristine coral gardens in the surrounding dive sites. Video footage and editing by Malissa Baddeley (September 2014). Thanks for watching!

Diving at Nusa Penida and Nusa Lembongan Islands, Bali [HD]
Scuba diving around Nusa Penida and Nusa Lembongan. These islands are located at the south-east of Bali (Indonesia) and both offer some truly exciting diving! In this HD film you'll see the following areas and dive sites:
Lembongan and Ceningan sightseeing 0:10
Crystal Bay 3:14
Toyapakeh 10:29
PED Point 16:19
Mangrove Point 20:58
Mangrove Forest 28:05
Manta Point 32:20
Buyuk Point 34:12
SD Point 37:48
Sental Point 43:54
The dive sites around Penida and Lembongan are one of the most populair dive sites in Bali, and for good reason! The underwater life is very diverse and you will find beautiful coral gardens. The visibility is normally very good.
Lembongan can be easily reached by a 30 minute fast boat trip that departs from Sanur. The island is not as crowded as Bali, in fact Lembongan is even pretty authentic and I hope it stays that way.
Besides diving, it is also nice to use a scooter to explore the islands. The Island Ceningan which lies between Penida and Lembongan is also very beautiful. And in the north-east of Lembongan there is a mangrove forest where you can make a nice trip in a traditional canoe. You will also see shots from this trip in the video.
Crystal Bay is a small inlet on the westernmost end of Nusa Penida with a wonderful array of soft corals and sheltered from the stronger currents outside the bay.
Toyapakeh is located at the entrance of the narrow channel between Penida and Nusa Lembongan Bali. The water is always very clear and the corals are beautiful!
Pura PED Point is located at the north of Nusa Penida. Its named after the temple on the shore of the Peed village, apart from that on this beach was put the concrete wall to protect the beach from erosion. The slope is bit steeper than SD Point, but with similar coral.
Mangrove Point lies in the North East of Nusa lembongan. It's named after it's location, it lies right at the Mangrove Area.
The Mangrove Forest can be found in the northeast corner of Nusa Lembongan. You can make tours here in a traditional dugout canoe.
Manta Point is probably one of the most populair dive sites around Nusa Penida. It can be found at the south-west of Nusa Penida. Quess what you kind find here...;)
Buyuk is a sloping reef at the nort east coast of Nusa Penida. The huge barrel sponges and long whip corals, are good indicators that strong currents are evident.
SD Point lies at the North Coast of Nusa Penida and is named after the primary school Sekolah Dasar that lies just opposite the dive site. Here you find large coral bommies and massive fields of branching coral, both hard and soft corals. This beautiful coral garden is home to a wide variety of fish.
Sental Point can be found on the North side of Nusa Penida. As well as the close-lying dive-sites Nusa Penida SD, Ped, Buyuk and Kutapang, Sental Point starts with a shallow reef ceiling which drops off at a 45° angle to extreme depths at 10 metres.
