150 km/h on powderskis on le Mont Fort | 4 vallées / Verbier / Switserland
This is a video where i reached 150 km/h on Le Mont Fort in 4 vallées in Switzerland.
I had multiple tries before i reached 150 and this was around the tenth attempt. I improved my speed by starting higher on the slope and by trying it early in the morning because the piste was much flatter and harder because it hadn't started warming up yet.
Before i went i always made absolutely sure that there was no one else on the slope that i wouldn't be able to see or dodge.

Spent a week in Verbier and although the conditions weren't great we made do with what we had.

Skigebiet Verbier - La Tzoumaz (Les 4 Vallées)

Die letzte Giovanola-Kabinenbahn in der einstigen Hochburg Verbier soll im Sommer 2014 durch eine Kombibahn auf neuer Trasse ersetzt werden.

Off-piste skiing in 4 Vallées: Mont Fort Backside
Off-piste skiing down the backside of the Mont Fort (3228m) to Siviez (1730m) via Lac du Grand Désert and Lac de Cleuson on March 13th 2013.
There was moderate avalanche risk (Level 2 of 5) on that day. The snow layers were well bonded and there was no fresh or windblown drifting snow. Temperatures were very low too, after a warmer week before, so that there was no risk of wet snow avalanches. Wet snow avalanches can be a big risk in the spring, especially near the Lac de Cleuson. The snow on the steep slopes was already mashed up by a lot of other skiers, so that there was minimal risk of weak snow layers on our path down.
Don't do that run, if you have no avalanche and mountain experience. You also have to be a very good skier, because there are really steep parts.

Les 4 Vallées est un domaine skiable qui recouvre les stations de Verbier, Nendaz, Veysonnaz, Thyon, La Tzoumaz et Bruson ; il s'agit du plus grand domaine skiable relié de Suisse et le troisième d'Europe.
Le projet de relier toutes ces stations est né au milieu des années 1970, l'idée venant entre autres de Rodolphe Tissières, Michel Michelet et René Fournier. Le domaine des 4 Vallées devient une réalité au mois de septembre 1983 lorsque le téléphérique du Mont-Fort est inauguré.
Les 4 Vallées offrent 92 installations à câble (téléskis, télésièges, télécabines, funitels et téléphériques confondus) et la célèbre piste de l'Ours ainsi que 412 km de pistes et itinéraires de ski, dont presque 200 km sont de difficulté moyenne à très difficile. Le Mont-Fort, situé au centre du domaine, s'élève à 3 330 mètres d'altitude et offre une vue sur des sommets tels que le Cervin, le Grand Combin et le Mont Blanc.

A short but sweet video, visiting each ski station of the Verbier Ski Resort in the Swiss Alps. Utilising the DJI Mavic Pro features I was able to create a Point of Interest in which I would rotate and capture great footage of each location.
Verbier is renowned for its location and its life! Having gained the resort of the year it truly is spectacular. Piste skiing or off-piste skiing, it has got everything! Take a look!
