Free Walking Tour of the Must-Sees in Athens | Athens, Greece
We went on a free walking tour that took us to all the major tourist attractions in Athens, including the Acropolis! This was one of our favourite walking tours because Athens is just such a walkable city, with such a high concentration of archaeological sites interspersed among the hustle and bustle of a modern city. We can't get over how many things we saw in a few short hours: the Ancient Agora, Roman Agora, Hadrian's Library, the Temple of the Olympian Zeus, Tower of the Winds, and of course the Acropolis itself, with the Parthenon in full glory. Along the way we also sample some Athenian alcohol and even get lost on Philipappos Hill (Hill of Muses) on the way back. Such a great day! We highly recommend this tour for its ability to pack in so many things in such a short amount of time. If you only have one day in Athens, do this!

How Athens became our FAVORITE European city
We had no idea that Athens would become our favorite European city until we saw it from our plane window. Greece has a certain indescribable magic to it. There’s no way to describe it, except that Athens just felt RIGHT. This vlog walks you through three of our days in Athens - everything to do and everything to smile about!
Everybody told us that Athens is just a stopover city - you can see everything in 2 days… But we’re so happy we stayed longer because we fell in love with the city and it’s people. We visited all the famous sites (Acropolis, Roman Agora, Ancient Agora, Hadrian’s Library, and more), ate a TON of amazing Greek food (some of our favorite in the world), and ran into some pretty incredible, kind, and lovely people (a Greece’s Got Talent star and a family with an incredible view). We stayed in the ‘hipster’ area, Exarchia, and LOVED it. It’s just impossible to go to Athens and not love it :)

Omonia Athens: Walking Tour Of Omonia Square And Metro Station
Omonia Athens: This is a walking tour starting in the Omonia Metro Station in Athens Greece. I walk around Omonia Square in the day when it is less dangerous. Omonia Athens is dangerous at night with much crime, drugs and homeless people. I do not recommend walking around Omonia at night.
Piraeus Athens Greece: Walking Tour Of The City Center To The Port
Piraeus Athens Greece: Before I take the ferry from Piraeus Port, I take a walk around the city of Piraeus. Piraeus is a large city with a population of about 163,000 people. It is also home to Piraeus Port which is the largest passenger port in Europe serving 20 million passengers a year.

Athens is the capital and largest city of Greece. Athens dominates the Attica region and is one of the world's oldest cities, with its recorded history spanning over 3,400 years, and its earliest human presence starting somewhere between the 11th and 7th millennia BC.[Classical Athens was a powerful city-state that emerged in conjunction with the seagoing development of the port of Piraeus, which had been a distinct city prior to its 5th century BC incorporation with Athens. A centre for the arts, learning and philosophy, home of Plato's Academy and Aristotle's Lyceum, it is widely referred to as the cradle of Western civilization and the birthplace of democracy, largely because of its cultural and political impact on the European continent, and in particular the Romans. In modern times, Athens is a large cosmopolitan metropolis and central to economic, financial, industrial, maritime, political and cultural life in Greece. In 2015, Athens was ranked the world's 29th richest city by purchasing power and the 67th most expensive[ in a UBS study.

Athens Greece ???????? walking the streets
Greece. Walking Athens. #TBEXAthens
I spent five days in Athens to attend the tbexcon.com Europe, staying in a gorgeous Airbnb just off the centre and with a couple of days on the end to walk the city. A favourite thing to do wherever I visit. It truly is a place that took me by surprise. I felt very much at home here with the pastel-toned hues, secret gardens archeological sites, significant history, cool restaurants and coffee shops. All manned by impressive looking hipsters. The fashion, street art and yogurt smothered in honey.
On my last day Trafalgar Travel offered me a guided visit to the Acropolis and an afternoon of additional insight into this place where democracy was born. It certainly brought the Athens magic to life. Here is a look at some of the sights and sounds.
Do see trafalgar.com for information on their various tours and follow the hashtag #TrafalgarInsider to see more. Nothing like a guide when you travel!

Walking in Athens - Cruise Tour from Piraeus
Cruise tour to Athens - Royal caribbean cruise stop in Piraeus March 22, 2017
We had been told that there was a X80 express bus from the cruise terminal to Syntagma Square. Bought a X80 ticket in a kiosk at the terminal - € 4.50 for the whole day. Went to the bus stop - there were lots of buses, but no X80. Back to the ticket office to get to know that X80 were not running so early in the season, but we had to take a city bus to Piraeus Station and then the metro to Athens. Easy, we were told - except that most information was in Greek with Cyrillic letters !!! We took a city bus, got off at the fifth stop, walked to Piraeus Station and took the metro to Monastiraki right at the Avissinias Square and Plaka, in the center of Athens. In the train information thankfully is in English. Started the trip to go along the main shopping street of Ermou to Syntagma Square with Vouli building that houses the Greek parliament and the presidential residence. In front of the tomb of the unknown soldier stood two National Guards - Evzones - wary. Continue through the National Park to the ruins at Agora. We had a 'cappuccino break' from which we could see the Acropolis. Went through Plaka and some incredibly interesting old streets and houses. In Plaka we did stop at a local restaurant where we got musaka, before heading back to the metro to Piraeus.
We only saw the Parthenon temple on the Acropolis and Agios Georgios chapel on Lycabettos mountain from the distance.
Weekend Trip To Athens 2019 | Dark Reality of Greece
When I was a little girl I dreamed of visiting Athens because I just loved reading books about the Greek Gods! Last week (October 2019) I visited the capital of Greece and one of the oldest cities in the world…
But I was just in shock about the reality of Athens: drug addicts, garbage and graffiti, and all this because of the protracted crisis :(
People don't usually show this dark side of Greece but in my new video I showed the whole truth about Athens!
Nevertheless I still advise you to visit this city in Europe because despite all the drawbacks it is stunningly beautiful!
For example, in my opinion, Acropolis is the place that you need to see at least once in your life!
I'm sure Athens is perfect for a weekend trip :)

Kolonaki Athens Greece Walking Tour
Kolonaki Athens Greece: This is a walking tour around Kolonaki Square area in Athens. This neighborhood is close to Syntagma Square and the Greek Parliament Building. There are a of embassies and museums in the area. Kolonaki is known as an upscale neighborhood with high end shopping. It is also known for it's restaurants and bars.
Athens Red Light District Night Walk To Omonia: Is It Dangerous?
Athens Red Light District: This is a Saturday night walk in Athens Greece starting at Victoria Street metro station and walking to the Red Light Area on Filis Street. Then I walk to Acharnon Street towards Omonia Square. The Omonia area is not a good area to walk around at night. There are a lot of drugs, drug addicts, prostitutes and crime. I don't recommend that you walk around Omonia, especially at night. From Omonia Square I head to Athenas Street and see the Athens Beer Festival going on. I continue on Athenas Street to Monastiraki.
FIRST TIME IN ATHENS - WHAT TO DO | GREECE
Today was my first time to visit Athens in Greece! I was amazed on how beautiful this city is!
If you don't know what to do in Athens this video will show you the best things to do in Athens and what to do in Athens on your first day!
There are many things to do in Athens and today I went to visit a few things to do in Athens. The main places I visited were the City center and one of the best things to do in athens travel guide is the Acropolis of Athens.
As there are many places to visit in Athens and I only had 1 day it was impossible for me to see all the places to visit in Athens so I went to visit the most important places in Athens.
Doing the acropolis athens tour is advisable as you get to know a lot about the history of athens travel guide and the acropolis.
Athens is the capital of Greece. It was also at the heart of Ancient Greece, a powerful civilization and empire. The city is still dominated by 5th-century BC landmarks, including the Acropolis, a hilltop citadel topped with ancient buildings like the colonnaded Parthenon temple. The Acropolis Museum, along with the National Archaeological Museum, preserves sculptures, vases, jewelry and more from Ancient Greece.
The Acropolis of Athens is an ancient citadel located on a rocky outcrop above the city of Athens and contains the remains of several ancient buildings of great architectural and historic significance, the most famous being the Parthenon. The word acropolis is from the Greek words ἄκρον (akron, highest point, extremity) and πόλις (polis, city). Although the term acropolis is generic and there are many other acropoleis in Greece, the significance of the Acropolis of Athens is such that it is commonly known as The Acropolis without qualification. During ancient times it was known also more properly as Cecropia, after the legendary serpent-man, Cecrops, the supposed first Athenian king.
