Scenic KONE Hydraulic Elevator @ Westfield North County, Escondido, CA
This was a Montgomery A-Series but KONE modernized it in 2010. This was an interesting mod since it's KONE but not Traction. Basically all the original shaft and pit equipment including car buffers, pistons, jacks and cylinder were kept except the hoistway walls were removed so the elevator could be on the outside. This elevator runs well but is SUPER SLOW and busy! Oddly, this has a bigger capacity of 5000 lbs. than the former Monty had (originally 3500 lbs.) even though it looks the exact same size. Installed in 1985.

On my way to a typical Saturday hiking trip. In this video I travel through Escondido to get to Hellhole Canyon Preserve. It's a typical East County San Diego country drive at a leisurely pace with almost no stops.
I can't have music because of copyright issues, and I decided not to drive without music because it would 1) be unpleasant for me, and 2) the sound would be mostly road friction and air conditioning noise. Thus, I decided to erase all sound. Hopefully you have some of your own favorite music to play in the background on your phone or computer while you watch this!
