CDT Thru Hike 2018 Ep 10 - Pagosa Springs to Lake City - San Juans Traverse
San Juans Traverse - In this episode of my Continental Divide Trail Thru Hike Documentary, I hike from Pagosa Springs to Lake City. It's a 5.5 day, 125 mile hike through the San Juan mountains. The route passes through the Weminuche Wilderness, Colorado's largest. This section of trail averages over 12,000' in elevation, making it the highest on the entire CDT. This area boasts some of the longest continuous above treeline hiking in the US, and offers some of the best hiking along the CDT (my top 5). The forest fire smoke from the 416 fire in Durango obscured views in the late afternoon, but made up for it with some of the most consistently beautiful sunsets of my entire journey.

Camping Trip - Weminuche Wilderness, San Juan Mtns, SW Colorado
A vid/slideshow of memories and sum glowsticking (at 4:48) from this amazing place buried deep in the mountains of Colorado.
One of my most favorite and most camped places in Colorado is the Williams Creek Reservoir area at the gateway to the Weminuche Wilderness in the San Juan Mtns of south-western Colorado, north of Pagosa Springs. Its a 4.5 hour drive from where i live in the denver metro area, but the seclusion and intense serenity of the Weminuche wilderness is worth much much more than that. Over my two trips there this summer, ive compiled enough photos/footage to create a slideshow/vid that can at least briefly show the majesty of the place and the moments created between you and the people you go with =] I hope you enjoy.
