The Zoo Zürich is a zoo located in Zurich Switzerland and it’s considered as one of the best zoos in Europe. Opened in 1929, is accumulated a collection of 2,200 specimens of 300 species by its seventy fifth year. It is located on Zurichbergstrasse, on the lower reaches of the Zürichberg in the Fluntern quarter.

Zoo Zürich Naturschutz: Kaeng Krachan
Der Zoo Zürich unterstützt den Kaeng Krachan Nationalpark in Thailand zum Schutz der dort lebenden Elefanten. Im Zentrum des Engagements steht die Entschärfung des Konflikts zwischen Menschen und Elefanten. Nebst Schutzzäunen, die verhindern, dass die Elefanten in bewohnte Gebiete dringen, wurde ein Informationszentrum errichtet, in dem Schulklassen und die Bevölkerung und für den Naturschutz sensibilisiert werden. Zudem unterstützt der Zoo Zürich die Wildhüter des Kaeng Krachan Nationalparks im Kampf gegen die Wilderei, indem er Ausrüstung und Ausbildungskurse finanziert.
