1. Babak FortKaleybar Bābak Khorramdin was one of the main Persian revolutionary leaders of the Iranian Khorram-Dinān , which was a local freedom movement fighting the Abbasid Caliphate. Khorramdin appears to be a compound analogous to dorustdin orthodoxy and Behdin Good Religion , and are considered an offshoot of neo-Mazdakism. Babak's Iranianizing rebellion, from its base in Azerbaijan in northwestern Iran, called for a return of the political glories of the Iranian past. The Khorramdin rebellion of Babak spread to the Western and Central parts of Iran and lasted more than twenty years before it was defeated when Babak was betrayed. With its winding lanes, forest of badgirs, mud-brick old town and excellent range of accommodation options, Yazd is one of the highlights of any trip to Iran. Wedged between the northern Dasht-e Kavir and southern Dasht-e Lut, it doesn’t have the big-ticket sights of Esfahan or Shiraz, but it’s equally enchanting. This is a place to wander and get lost in the maze of historic streets and lanes, not to mention your imagination. It’s also an ideal base for day trips to several evocative villages and towns. Yazd has been known for its silks and other fabrics since before Marco Polo passed through. It is also home to Iran’s second-largest population of Zoroastrians. The city can be quite cold in winter and is boiling hot in summer, though not humid.

Everyday life in Mehriz. (IRAN)
We met a Hamid on the train to Yazd, where he lives. He offered to show us around. It turned out that he is one of couchsurfing member and he enjoys meeting travellers.
He took us for a dinner at his friend's house before our midnight train to Shiraz, but we finally postponed our ticket 10 minutes before departure.. just to spend one more day with them.
They took us to this magical place in Mehriz (around 40 mins from Yazd), where locals go picnic and spending some quality time. Oasis in the middle of the desert. Sadly, we don't know the exact name of this place, because all writing was written in Farsi.... maybe someone who knows the name of this place can leave a comment here and share it to others..
ps: Iranians like to have a picnic and the goverment provide many great places to support this. WHAT A LIFESTYLE!!!!!
