Himlabadet

Viksjö is a district of Järfälla Municipality, Stockholm County, Sweden, in Stockholm. Viksjö has 15,000 inhabitants. The district was developed in the 1970s. The architecture consists mainly of detached terraced houses. Viksjö is named after the old farm Viksjö Gård, which dates back to 1734. The name Viksjö is even older, occurring for the first time on an 11th-century rune-stone.

Skuleskogen National Park is a Swedish national park in Västernorrland County, on the coast of the Baltic Sea, in northern Sweden. It covers 30.62 kilometres , constituting the eastern part of the Forest of Skule. The park is characterized by a very rough topology with many rocky peaks, of which the highest is Slåttdalsberget, 280 metres in altitude, rising directly from the sea. The topography is also marked by the presence of deep crevasses and caves. This particular topology can be found throughout the entire High Coast , a region of Sweden so named because it constitutes the highest section of the coast of the Baltic Sea. 10 SUPERBENCHES in the Stockholm Suburb of Järfälla

In a satellite suburb of Stockholm, an innovative two-year-long initiative is attempting to challenge the status quo through intelligent competition and design briefs. The Kalejdohill project—located in Järfälla, led by creative director Andreas Angelidakis and developed in public-private partnership with three Swedish developers (HSB, Norra, and Stor-Stockholm)—has completed a series of open international competitions and local interventions in and around Kvarnbacken Park, a small patch of green surrounded by homes and businesses. Once-neglected, it now finds itself at the heart of a rapidly expanding urban conurbation with somewhere between 600 and 800 housing units posited for its immediate vicinity.

As the latest in a string of supra-spatial projects to take on Kvarnbacken—including “Desire Lines” and “Lights”—SUPERBENCHES has pooled together a collection of world-renowned designers in the spirit of experimentation. The design and construction of ten park benches, conceived by ten design practices, has been overseen by US-based creative director and writer Felix Burrichter. For Burrichter, this project is primarily a “community incubator” for “a new, diverse neighborhood,” which isn’t yet built.
