Exploring Amorgos, Greece: The Wild Island
GREECE: Island of ASTYPALAIA, a true paradise on Earth
SUBSCRIBE: - Let's go to the beautiful country of Greece and let's visit Chora (the Main Town) which is the Queen of the island and which lies on top of the rock in order to oversee the boundless blue and the several islets that spread around Astypalaia. Chora's white houses are spread from the old port and the windmills to the central square of the town. Whitewashed buildings – traditional houses of the Cycladic type – spread around the Venetian castle which dominates the top of the hill.

Ending nearly a month living a dream, island hopping in the Aegean Sea, brings me to my last two islands. The first island in this video, is one of three of my most anticipated islands to visit. Arriving at Aegiali port, I got comfortable in my not so cheap hotel, but had an incredible view of the harbour and sunset.
My time in Amorgos was not just incredible because of the sights, but because of the friends I made while I was there. After successfully hitchhiking my way across the island, I made my way to Chora, one of the most beautiful in the Cyclades with a town layout that is easy to get lost in. Here is where I met up with my newly made friends. I managed to visit the oldest active monastery in Greece, Hozoviotissa. Below the monastery, I joined my friends on an amazing swim at Agia Anna beach with the most incredible views of the north part of the island.
On another full day, we rode down to Mouros beach to cliff dive, swim in and out of caves, take in beautiful views of the island, as well as feast on some amazing dished complimented with some Ouzo. Concluding my amazing time in Amorgos, I made my way over to the port town of Katapola where I saw my buddies for the last time, before heading off to my last and final island.
Santorini is certainly an overcrowded island with tourists from all around the world. Chaos and clutters takes up much of the island in early August, the height of the tourist season. However, when you disregard that and pay attention to the scenery, you are easily blown out of this world. Santorini is a volcanic gem of the Mediterranean, with blue and white villages capped at the top of the caldera with views of the volcano wherever you go on the island.
Hitchhiking as like every other Greek island worked well for me as I made it to the south hopping between a red and black beach. The highlight of my time here was not just roaming the imfamous streets of Oia, but catching the most incredible sunset on an unfinished cliffside resort that I had all to myself. Roaming in and out of the structure only to always be greeted by the setting sun and the orange tint over the volcano, caldera, and the sea. This was the perfect way, to end one of my biggest dreams, of my life.

ISLAND of AMORGOS : The most beautiful SHIPWRECK in the AEGEAN SEA (GREECE)
SUBSCRIBE: - Visitors and residents of the Greek island of Amorgos have the chance to visit one of the most beautiful beaches and bays in Greece. The famous Olympia shipwreck lies in the southwestern coast of the Greek island, near Kalotaritissa beach. The shipwreck has been featured in many documentaries and travel shows, as well as in Luc Besson’s feature film “The Big Blue” starring Jean Reno, which was filmed in various locations around Amorgos.
According to residents, a ship approached the island in February 1980. The captain was looking for a place near the coast where he would find shelter from the strong north winds. The ship anchored near the beach of Kalotaritissa but did not hold and the waves threw it on the rocks. The ship’s original name, “Inland,” is still visible despite the rust. It was later renamed “Olympia.”

Amorgos Video Map:
The beach of Agios Pavlos is located between Chora and Aigiali which are respectively 10 km and 5 km away and is on the bus route. From the town, follow the signs to the village of Aegiali; after about 10 km, there are signs to the beach on the left. It is a white pebble beach with crystal clear water with a strip of sand that stretches on. The island of Nikouria is opposite. On the beach, there is a tavern that offers snacks and drinks.

12 Burj Al Arab 7 Star Hotel
13. Abu Dhabi
It may seem odd to cover Greece, Italy & Dubai in one trip. But the trip starts and ends with a really long 14-16 hour flight which is both expensive and hard to acclimate to. So, by combining many of our bucket list destinations, it actually made it easier.
We've always wanted to see Dubai's wondrous buildings. The documentaries on how they were built are fascinating (check YouTube). Add the most stunning hotel in the world on its own man-made island, the Burg Al Arab (another YouTube Documentary) and it's irresistible. Add Abu Dhabi (what a great name) and we just had to go. Then add the famed Greek Islands including Mykonos, Santorini and Crete and you can't miss them. But I've always wanted to see the Acropolis in Athens, the Oracle at Delphi up north and Meteora where the monasteries are on the top huge monolithic pillars that you probably saw in the James Bond movie, For Your Eyes Only. Wow. Greece has so much history, it's awesome.
And in Italy, the famed museums of Florence are a bucket list item all by themselves. To see the Stature of David and how the Medici Family lived will blow you away. Plus I love Travertine Mineral hot-springs so we were off on a car trip to Cascate Del Mulino where I was able to get right into the hot springs, unlike at Yellowstone where I was kept at a distance. Then a chance to see the Leaning Tower of Pisa (I never knew it was a bell tower). It really does lean. Then onto a Carrara Marble Quarry where the whole mountain is marble. I'll never look at the few marble tiles we have the same way again. And the Cinque Terre cities built right into the cliff-like canyons along the Italian coast are so picturesque. And the ferries we took to get to them were so much fun. And we ended up in Bologna which turned out to be a treasure-trove of cathedrals and squares.
Finally we were off to Dubai where all my dreams were realized. It's even more exciting than I'd pictured. And the Burg Al Arab 7 star hotel, well check out my video. Our room/suite we lucked into was more like a lobby than many hotel lobbies we've been in. And the city's buildings and people will blow you away. Abu Dhabi, if anything was even more impressive than Dubai. It's all new. It's all architecturally phenomenal and finally a visit to the Grand Mosque is an experience not to be missed. It's so painstakingly created with every detail just perfect that it will blow you away with its great beauty. A fitting end to an unreliably wonderful bucket list trip. And finally the 16 hour flight home on Emirates air was a wonder. We've never seen such luxury from the seats to a real bar people stood around to a working fountain to bathrooms with showers. Wow, wish we could live like this for real. What a wonderful experience this trip was.
