Things to do is Oslob / Alcoy
On our way down to Oslob we stopped off at Alcoy to hike up Osmena Peak... staying at the mangrove EECO resort. We got a bit unlucky with the weather, rain and mist all day but we still managed to climb to the top of Osmena peak... thanks to hiring walk sticks!
If you are going to hike to the top of Osmena Peak, we'd highly recommend you doing the same... its slippy and very muddy all the way up. Worth it for the views!
Our bnb in Alcoy (the Mangrove ECO Resort) had a lovely pool and walkway to the ocean. So many crabs in the muddy waters whilst the tide was out!
To get from Alcoy to Oslob, we got a lift down the coastline from a diver kit supplier, pretty lucky! Our bnb in Oslob had a pool, situated right by the sea.
There are many things to do in and around Oslob; we planned to visit Tumalog falls and a day trip to Sumilon Island.
Sumilon Island day trip cost 3000 pesos (2 tickets) through bluewater sumilon island resort.
This included buffet lunch, snorkelling kit, paddle boat experience, infinity pool access and pretty much free roaming access across the whole island.
we highly recommend Bluewater Sumilon Island resort, they are the only company to provide all of the above on Sumilon Island after all!
The cheaper boat option for Sumilon Island is to just get dropped off on the sandbar for a few hours...
I managed to fly the drone above Sumilon Island but we did have 1 lifeguard tell us off! Be careful, we recommend finding the mangroves location we found, half way towards walking to the Sandbar and fly it from there :)
They had lockers on Sumilon Island which was perfect for storing our valuables whilst we went off snorkelling.
Tumalog Falls
Tumalog falls was our other trip planned and it did not disappoint!
We were able to swim there, the water was a bit cold but worth braving it to experience up close such a unique waterfall.
We struggled to use our cameras at Tumalog falls due to the amount of spray that comes off them... expect to get wet here, even if you don't go for a swim in Tumalog Falls!
One of the big things to do in Oslob was swim with Whale Sharks. After much research we chose not to do the Whale Shark experience. Seeing what goes on... they feed the sharks daily to attract them to a specific location, it's not natural and we don't like the idea of being sat with crowds of people for hours... waiting for a 5 minute swim next to a shark that's been conditioned to do something by man.
Next stop from Oslob will be Siquijor Island. Should be an easy transfer from Oslob to Siquijor by ferry... Can't wait for some chill time on what looks like a beautiful island!
