Vichy is a town situated to the north-east of Clermont-Ferrand, and is the second largest town in the Auvergne. Although the town is not a major tourist destination there are some sights of interest in Vichy, which is also an important spa town, very popular among those seeking the healing powers of the local water.
Much of the town dates from the 19th and 20th centuries,in part due to the development of the spa waters industry since that time - it was Napoleon III who first brought these to the attention of the public. There are several different natural water sources in the town, some war and others cold. (Vichy also produces bottled waters that are exported around the world under the names of Vichy Celestins and Vichy Saint-Yorre and are also atributed various health properties.)
Although most of Vichy dates from the late 19th century onwards there are certain monuments that are older. These include the remaining parts of the Convent of the Celestins (in the park of the same name) dates from the 15th century, and was originally part of a benedictine monastery. The Castel Franc also dates from the 15th century, although the principal facade was rebuilt in the 19th century.
The houses along the Boulevard des Etats-Unis, dating from the epoch when the town started to develop under Napoleon (1860-1870), are also interesting (and in a style that is very unusual in the Auvergne - these include the Chalet Marie-Louise, the Chalet de Clermont-Tonnere and the Chalet de l'Empereur. The Parc Napoleon III was also part of this new development. The Palace of Congress (opera) building dates from the same period but stands in complete contrast, with its ornately decorated facade also incorporating art nouveau elements.
You can also see the ornate buildings that were the grand hotels where visitors to the spa town stayed in the early 20th century, stroll along the pleasant boulevards and walk along the banks of the river. As well as the thermal spa waters made popular by Napoleon Vichy is also well known for its role as seat of the government of 'unoccupied France' during the Second World War, under the rule of Marshal Pétain (they were based in the Palace of congress building).

Puy de Dôme is a large lava dome and one of the youngest volcanoes in the Chaîne des Puys region of Massif Central in central France. This chain of volcanoes including numerous cinder cones, lava domes, and maars is far from the edge of any tectonic plate. Puy de Dôme is approximately 10 kilometres (6 mi) from Clermont-Ferrand. The Puy-de-Dôme département (with hyphens) is named after the volcano. In pre-Christian Europe, Puy de Dôme served as an assembly place for spiritual ceremonies. Temples were built at the summit, including a Gallo-Roman temple dedicated to the God Mercury, the ruins of which were discovered in 1873.
In 1648, Florin Périer, at the urging of Blaise Pascal, proved Evangelista Torricelli's theory that barometric observations were caused by the weight of air by measuring the height of a column of mercury at three elevations on Puy de Dôme. In 1875, a physics laboratory was built at the summit. Since 1956, a TDF (Télédiffusion de France) antenna is also located there. On the top of the mountain, there is a transmitter for FM and TV.
The Puy de Dôme is one of the most visited sites in the Auvergne region, attracting nearly 500,000 visitors a year. The summit offers expansive views of the Chaîne des Puys and Clermont-Ferrand. It is a well-known centre for paragliding. The summit can be reached by two pedestrian path : a southern one (Le sentier des muletiers, formerly a Roman road) and a northern one (Le sentier des chèvres) which runs past the Nid de la Poule crater. The GR 4 long-distance trail includes both paths to cross the mountain.
Since May 2012, visitors can also go up the mountain by train with the Panoramique des Dômes, a rack railway. A road exists along the train tracks but it is closed to the general traffic, except for the military, service vehicles or emergencies. At the top of the mountain, restaurants and shops are available as well as a visitor centre giving information on the history and geology of the area.
In more recent times, Puy de Dôme has served as an occasional stage finish in the Tour de France. It was here that in 1964 Raymond Poulidor battled with Jacques Anquetil in one of the race's most famous moments, racing side by side up almost the entire climb; and that in 1975 Eddy Merckx was punched in the kidney by a spectator. According to Jean-François Pescheux, since the construction of a rack railway, and because of the very narrow road, the Tour will never come back to the Puy de Dôme, its last ascension in the race being in 1988.

Description
A Wonderful Lunch At Cafe des Deux Moulins, Paris
The Café des 2 Moulins (French for Two Windmills) is a café in the Montmartre area of Paris, located at the junction of Rue Lepic and Rue Cauchois (the address is 15, rue Lepic, 75018 Paris). It takes its name from the two nearby historical windmills, Moulin Rouge and Moulin de la Galette. The interior consists of a bar area and multiple small tables.
The café has gained considerable fame since its appearance in the 2001 film Amélie, in which it is the workplace of the title character. It has since become a popular tourist destination. Another location from the film, the convenience store of Collignon, is located nearby, on the rue des Trois-Frères. The tobacco counter, tended in the film by Georgette (Isabelle Nanty), was removed in 2002 when the cafe changed ownership.
The cafe was listed in the Registre du commerce et des sociétés in 1964. According to Marc Fougedoire, the current owner, the establishment opened its doors at the beginning of the 20th century, but did not take its current name until the 1950s. It had already been used for two other films before it served in Amélie.

Info:
