PORT MELBOURNE - SANDRIDGE LOOKOUT - MELBOURNE AUSTRALIA
(PORT MELBOURNE) - (SANDRIDGE LOOKOUT) (MELBOURNE AUSTRALIA)
Port Melbourne is an inner suburb of Melbourne, Australia, 5 km south-west from Melbourne's central business district. It is split between the local government areas of Melbourne and Port Phillip. The area to the north of the West Gate Freeway is in the City of Melbourne. The area to the south is in the City of Port Phillip. At the 2016 Census, Port Melbourne had a population of 16,175.[1]
The suburb is bordered by the shores of Hobsons Bay and the lower reaches of the Yarra River. Port Melbourne covers a large area, which includes the distinct localities of Fishermans Bend, Garden City and Beacon Cove.
There is a nice walk from the Sandridge Life Saving Club out to Sandridge Lookout and back on Webb Trail – approximately 3km. The highlights of this short stroll are amazing views of the city across the water on one side, and a close up of the massive shipping cranes on the other. There is a viewing platform at the actual Lookout on the south-east corner of Webb Trail. The track is closed off at the point where I’ve marked the end of the walk below, although some older maps show it continuing around the container terminal.

Dreamtime Travelling through the Australian continent - documentary
Travelling through the Australian continent, one is often appalled by the living conditions of the Aborigine people. Having lost touch with their culture and traditions, many of them have become outcasts or alcoholics who aimlessly wander the streets of the Australian cities. From the early 1800s to the late 1960s, Aborigines were gradually deprived of their land by the white man who used it for herding, cropping, and mineral extraction. Forced to leave their homelands, Aborigines were often separated from their children, who were sent to live with white families or to boarding schools, in an attempt to teach them the white man’s values. Today 390,000 Aborigines account for less than 3% of the current Australian population. Learn how they are beginning to find their place in a society which has excluded them for so long. Meet and share the life of Aborigines who through art, dancing, hunting, work, or spirituality, are finding ways to better their future.

Melbourne: Best Beaches in Australia
Melbourne: Best Beaches in Australia
More than four million people call this big small town home. Yes, Melbourne is a big small town, and no, it's not an oxymoron. See, it contains all the trappings of a major metropolis – vibrant neighborhoods, award-winning cuisine, notable things to do – but Melburnians manage to do their urban hustle at a leisurely pace. Burrowed in wine country beside Port Phillip Bay, Melbourne's natural landscape anchors its laid-back personality. When you're sampling wine in the nearby Yarra Valley or sipping a flat white at one of Melbourne's charming sidewalk cafes, there's no way you can't .
