Seethawaka Botanical Garden Avissawella Sri Lanka, best place to visit spent time in Sri Lanka
You can find this amazing place where 6kms away from the Puwakpitiya Junction, Avissawella, Sri Lanka. If you use private vehicle to travel there, it has huge parking facility. The place is very well maintained by authorities which include very good canteen, washrooms etc. If you use public transport you can take trishaw to drive there which cost LKR.300.00
This place is very beauitiful when rain season is on. The lake inside the park gives amazing attaraction to the visitors. I should tell that I saw families, foreigners, couples came for picnic sitting near the lake in that ground and spent their time happily.
You can also see our neighbours in their who is monkeys :-D
Please visit and behave yourself and protect the park.

Kumari Ella is 4m (13 ft) waterfall in Puwakpitiya, Avissawella; just about an hour and a half of travel time from Colombo. This little cascade has a deep plunge pool at its base that is extremely dangerous to swim in. Kumari Ella gains its name from Kumari, the daughter of King Rajasinghe I of Sitawaka (he ruled in the mid to late 1500s), who died by drowning there.
The waterfall of Kumari Ella is quite powerful despite its being of very low in height. The reason for this is because the waterfall is created by four different streams joining near this point; which later meets up with the major river Kelani.
Many people visit here on weekends. Its popularity has been tarnish her health. So please don't dump any garbage there.

Tripping to Seethawaka Miracle Nature Resort located in Avissawella in SriLanka with the SriLankan Airlines Team.This was the first outing that i went on after being employed at SriLankan Airlines.The Resort has a wonderful view of the mountains from the balcony.There are 2 Natural Pools along the stream which are ideal for a mid day bath.Also with a really cool garden area and their Swimming pool they set up rifle shooting upon request(was not included in the package).Friendly Environment to spend a day with

The Ella Uda Ella Falls is located in the Colombo District, Avissawella Electorate at Hanwella. To reach it, take the Hanwella road and turn off near the Thummodara Old Bridge, then continue for a further 10km to the Illuovita area. It's near to Awissawella Botnical Garden (Seethawaka Garden).

Ranmudu Ella, Thummodara, Avissawella (2015) - 3 of 4
The Ranmudu Ella in Thunmodara is situated in a tributary of the Wak Oya River, and the waters feed the Kelani River.
The fall is a victim of its own success. Due to its popularity, especially at weekends, the surrounding ecosystem is under threat from large numbers of trampling visitors.
Take the Thummodara-Puwakpitiya Road and after about 2km turn right to the Pagngnagula Road and after about 400m the falls can be found.

* Travel in smaller groups as Mother Nature can’t afford so many footprints at once.
* Minimize the use of polythene/plastic and do bring back if you have to take any with you.
* Don’t litter and even if it’ bio-degradable, please bring it back and dispose of the garbage properly and responsibly. Because no matter what it is, it will still be alien to that environment.
* Use reusable water bottles so that you don’t have to keep buying plastic ones. It’ll not only save you money but will help save nature massively.
* Remain quiet and vigilant. Don’t disturb the tranquility of the nature. Instead savor it.
* Try and bring if you spot any litter/garbage left behind by other careless travellers.
* Don’t light fires unnecessarily and do try to use portable cookers instead of using firewood when camping. The increase usage of firewood leads to more deforestation even at a smaller scale.
* Don’t bring any plants back with you or break any plants/branches unnecessarily.
* Don’t walk off the designated footpath.
* Don’t use soap/detergent/shampoo when bathing in natural streams as they’d only lead to the contamination of those pure water sources and elimination of wildlife species.
* Don’t do anything that harms the Mother Nature.
