Azja Południowo-Wschodnia - Laos - Luang Prabang (6)
Quanto maio o grupo, maior o desconto.

Hanoi - Cost of Living - Living in Vietnam - 2019
Hanoi, Vietnam is a fast-growing destination for expats, retirees, and digital nomads living in Southeast Asia.
COST OF LIVING IN HANOI AS AN EXPAT
So how much does it cost to live in Hanoi?
$600 per month is possible, but not very comfortable.
$700 - $1,100 per month is comfortable. Most nomads and expats I know live within this range.
$2,000 + per month and you can live very well.
Coming up you will see how far your dollar will go in Hanoi, Vietnam.
COST OF LIVING IN HANOI 2019
The low cost of living attracts many foreigners to Hanoi, but the mix of old culture and new ideas make it a fascinating place to live. Artists, musicians, performers, and trendsetters keep the city creative and entertaining.
The Old Quarter is the city's cultural heart where many trades are still practiced along its streets and surprises are tucked down every alleyway. West Lake, just to the north, is the largest lake of the capital and a popular place for recreation. Many expats make their home in the area. Rent for a one-bedroom apartment in one of Hanoi’s best neighborhoods starts at about $250 a month. And you can find an apartment a couple of miles outside of the city center for as low as $150. USD.
COST OF LIVING IN VIETNAM
Here are some average costs:
A meal at an inexpensive restaurant in the City Center, including drink $2.40
A nice meal at a western style restaurant $10.00
Domestic Beer, 0.5-liter draught at a restaurant $ .90
Bia hơi draft beer is only about $ .22
Cappuccino (medium) $1.70
Apartment Rent, 1 bedroom in the City Centre $450 including utilities.
Coworking space $50 per month
Free wifi is widely available but only about 4mbs.
Phone service is very affordable. The standard price for a SIM card and internet package in Vietnam starts at about $10 USD.
Hanoi has many western culture influences making it easy to find international foods and English-friendly businesses.
TRANSPORTATION
Getting around by public transportation is easy.
Grab offers an Uber-like service, along with several options: GrabCar, GrabTaxi which is a metered taxi using the Grab app to pick up passengers, or hop on the back of a GrabBike. They even provide a helmet.
Grab users must have a local phone number to use the service. The app quotes you the price per ride and it’s usually cheaper than a metered taxi and doesn’t require negotiating.
Grab service is great and trips within the city center should be less than $2.
Bus service is scam free, cheap, relatively fast and fairly comfortable.
TRAVEL
Trips covered in this video include: Trang An, Tam Coc Lake, Mua Cave mountain, Ki Lan Mountain, Thung Nham Bird Park, Ha Long Bay, Cát Bà Island, and Sung Sot (Surprise) Cave.
If the city traffic and smog start to get to you, day trips and weekend getaways are very affordable.
You can get to Cat Ba Island by booking a bus/boat/bus combo for about $14 USD. I booked my trip through Good Morning Cat Ba and they included hotel pickup and drop off.
Ninh Binh is stunning and diverse with culture and natural beauty. A trip to Ninh Bin by bus or train will cost about $4 - $7 one way. And a simple hotel can cost as low as $15 USD per night.
A Ha Long Bay cruise is another affordable escape from the city. The price for a budget 2 Days 1 Night cruise can be as low as 50-75 USD while a mid-range cruise will set you back 150-200 USD and a full luxury cruise will be around 400 USD or more. These trips will often include transportation from Hanoi as well as day activities like kayaking and cave tours.
-------------VISAS
Visa costs will vary depending on what country you are from. For me, as a U.S. citizen, my visa cost for a year is $155. Tourist visas will require a border run every 90 days so you may want to set aside some money for that.
Nomads, living here month-to-month, staying in the city center, using a co-work space and eating out every meal can expect to spend about $1,100 per month.
An expat with a year lease can get by for under $900 per month.
If you’re good at living cheap and sharing a flat with friends, you can get by for under $600 per month.
My budget for living one month in the city center, staying at inexpensive hotels and eating out every meal is $1,400. This includes my visa costs and insurance.

Thai Curry Paradise: 75+ Dishes You Can Choose - Unbelievable Southern Thailand Food!
You’ll find amazing Thai curry in Southern Thailand!

T-shirts for sale here►
Southern Thailand is home to an amazing array of Thai curry, and in my opinion, Nakhon Si Thammarat (นครศรีธรรมราช) is one of the best eating provinces in Southern Thailand. The province is also known for generally having some of Thailand’s spiciest, fiercest dishes.
Khao Gaeng Sudyod Saphan Yao (ครัวป้าจง ข้าวแกงสุดยอดสะพานยาว) is one restaurant you don’t want to miss when you’re in Nakhon Si Thammarat. I took an unofficial count of the different Thai dishes they had prepared on the day I ate here, and it was over 75, and they had a few more dishes on the side, like side dips and salads that I forgot to cook. The display of Thai curry is enough to make cry tears of joy.
Here are the Thai curry dishes I ordered:
Gaeng taypo hua pla (แกงเทโพหัวปลา) - fish head curry with coconut milk
Gaeng khua hoy kom (แกงคั่วหอยขม) - Thai river snails curry
Yam pla chichang (ยำปลาฉิ้งฉ้าง) - green mango and dried fish salad
Yam boo kaem (ยำปูเค็ม) - raw rice paddy crab salad with sour tamarind
Gaeng khua gai baan (แกงคั่วไก่บ้าน) - spicy free range chicken curry
Total price - 290 THB ($8.51)
I think it was a pretty amazing deal for Ying and I to both eat a big huge meal and we were stuffed afterwards. An amazing choice of Southern Thai food, and good prices as well.
