Leyte is an island in the Visayas group of the Philippines.
Politically, the island is divided into two provinces: Northern Leyte and Southern Leyte. Territorially, Southern Leyte includes the island of Panaon to its south. To the north of Leyte is the island province of Biliran, a former sub-province of Leyte.
The major cities of Leyte are Tacloban, on the eastern shore at the northwest corner of Leyte Gulf, and Ormoc, on the west coast.
Leyte today is notable for the geothermal electric power plants near Ormoc.

Motorcycle Diaries - Travel the Tacloban - Babatngon - Barugo road (1st part). This is my personal travel experience. Have you tried the access road from Tacloban passing Babatngon, San Miguel - Barugo Road?

I have created it in two parts since the complete edition was too bulky in size and i cannot upload it.

For the most part, the road is good and less traffic. But reaching the roads in the mountain, it was bumpy for the most part coz the road are not yet completely concrete. Though the trip was shorter than the usual.

The Baybay Diversion Road was Inagurated on April 18, 2016. The Diversion Road starts from the junction of Ormoc-Baybay-Southern Leyte Boundary Road in Brgy. Candadam and ends at the junction of the Ormoc-Baybay-Southern Leyte Boundary Road in Brgy. Hipusngo.
